  1. I'd be more confident if the game was at Firhill. Our home record is abysmal, we won only 3 league games there in the whole of 2015 spanning two divisions and 2 of those were after we had already been relegated. I think Rae & Farrell are making all the right noises and by all accounts the players are much happier with training but we've no new recruits in and as the saying goes, you can only piss with the c0ck you've got. Hopefully we can give you a game but Thistle seem to be playing very well and I expect they will be a bit too strong for us. I'd love a win, but I think for us anyway the league has to priority, only a real cluserfu*k of a club could manage back to back relegations
  2. Best bets for pints if you are arriving by train are; The Last Post - right outside the door of the station (town side). Huge, cheap, standard Weatherspoons The Bankhouse - just across the square from the station and up on the right on Gilmour Street. Lively atmosphere, sports bar, will be full of Saints fans Saporito Wine Bar - outside the station and under the bridge. Bit more for the upper class Thistle luvvies Argyll Bar - out the station on New Sneddon Street - head left - Argyll is on the left hand side a few hundred yards - reasonable traditional pub Court Bar - a bit further along - directly opposite the sheriff court funnily enough - another more tradtitional boozer If you are drinking at Gilmour Street you are about 15 mins walk to the stadium. If you are feeling lazy you can catch the Paisley St James train at 1922 from Gilmour Street which gets to Paisley St.James at 1924 which is right outside the stadium. Enjoy the game. ps: The Bull Inn as mentioned is a great pub but it's a fair hike in the wrong direction from the station and then along to the stadium so personally I'd stick with the above
  3. I think you're getting a bit carried away fella. I spoke to St.Mirren at tea time last night and both clubs had sold around 1500 tickets each at that point. Thistle maybe slightly more as the last update they had from the Jags was mid afternoon. The "South Stand" allocation being sold out is a bit of a joke. I can see the live ticket situation in the South, there are 5 blocks in that stand, three are showing 50% sold, one is showing 25% sold and the other is showing less than 25% sold so if Thistle have sold out their allocation for that stand then it must have been very small. The North Stand is "sold out" but they haven't sold the first few rows. The stand only has 22 rows so not selling even the first 3 rows reduces the capacity by 13% ! Either way it's clear the Jags are bringing a good support, which is terrific but it won't be anywhere near 3,000. My guess would be 2,200 Jags on the night, with maybe the same from St.Mirren giving a gate of just short of 4,500. Time will tell !
  4. You won't get 3,000 tickets for a start mate, the maximum you'll get is 2300. Even Rangers & Celtic don't get given more than that. Granted there will also be scope for Thistle fans in the "mixed zone" but no chance of Thistle getting, or bringing, 3000 I'm afraid.
  5. I think if we can get a 5,000+ gate 2nd weekend in January then that would be a positive result. League game last season at our place was 4636 with 1335 from Thistle, previous season 5601 with 1613 Jags in the first game then 4660 with 1312 Jags in the second. Thistle always bring a good support to Paisley, hopefully there will be a decent turnout in the home end on the night, derby win last Saturday will have helped but remember we haven't won a league game at home all season so home is most definitely not where the heart is for the buds !
  6. I'm really not sure where that figure has come from but going by the ticketing website, it's bollocks. I can't say for sure how many Thistle have sold but it's around 1400-1600 tops at the moment. There isn't a chance in hell that St.Mirren have sold 4000.
  7. This shows the live state of play with tickets as per our online ticketing site; The right hand goal as you look at it is the North Stand, it's all red on our site because this is for Thistle fans and those tickets are being sold by The Jags. You can see the two red blocks around for it, they are in the West Stand and that is the extra tickets that Thistle started selling today. All of those red blocks combined behind the goal and in the West is about 2300 tickets or thereabouts. The South Stand is filling up nicely but still a lot of empty seats in the rest of the West at the moment (which is St.Mirren only in the five blocks next to your extra allocation.
  8. My understanding is that the South is only for "families" (you must have a kid) and it is always a dedicated No Swearing zone. Very strange that they sold you a single ticket for that end when the North is still not really sold out, even today. I'm not sure you would be denied entry and I'm sure they would swap your tickets on the night but my advice is to try and get it swapped for the West as that will be the best both for view and atmosphere as you will be right in beside the main St.Mirren support who will be in W1 to W5 (Thistle get W6 and W7) There is obviously very relaxed segregation around the game but it appears Thistle might be taking it too far if they are shelling out South stand tickets to naughty sweary punters :-)
  9. St.Mirren fan, coming in peace ! Seems to be a bit of confusion about ticketing so this is an update I had from our CEO about an hour ago. Thistle have sold out majority of the North Stand. This is the "traditional away end" behind the goals. They have sold out all but the first few rows. Since those rows can be affected by the weather and the view isn't great Thistle have moved on to start selling the two sections of the West Stand they have been allocated. This whole section (the North plus 2 sections of the West) is what we give to Celtic and Rangers when they come and in total it holds 2300 (1500 in North plus 800 in West). The mixed zone in the main stand is almost sold out too, but the clubs are working to create more space for that. Finally Thistle fans can also go into the South Stand providing they have kids with them, and providing they comply with the No Swearing policy in that stand. Both Youth Academies have been given tickets for this section which equates to 100 players from each club. So all in all it's shaping up to be an excellent away support.
