  1. See below. Leverkusen have won next to nothing, Wolfsburg in the last 15 years have had their only BL, DFB-Pokal, plus Super Cup successes. Both clubs have modern 30.000 capacity stadiums, but struggle to get fans along, especially in Wolfsburgs case. Unfortunately in Germany, there are now so many Munich & Dortmund ‚fans‘ / gloryhunters, with no geographical links to either team and only ever see them on Sky/DAZN. They were formed in 1904 as a works team, hence their nickname Werkself. Totally different situation to RB Leipzig. Red Bulls headquarters are in Salzburg, hence their initial activities in football being the takeover of SV Austria Salzburg, with subsequent renaming, rebranding etc. After that they wanted to get a foothold in Germany, and initiated talks with Fortuna Düsseldorf, St. Pauli & 1860 Munich who all told them to p!ss off. They then purchased the licence of 5th tier SSV Markranstädt, and basically „fairy taled“ their way through to the Bundesliga with industrial amounts of money. The traditional Leipzig clubs, Chemie & Lokomotiv, were on a low ebb at that time and were also anti any Red Bull involvement, so in reality Leipzig a 500.000 city had no team in the top league which was probably the deciding factor.
  2. In general yes, but there are some exceptions. Leverkusen & Wolfsburg were initially started as works teams for Bayer and VW respectively. This historical deviation from the 50 + 1 rule is still in place. Also the likes of RB Leipzig have such a financial structure in the background that it is very difficult (and expensive) to become a member with voting rights.
  3. IIRC Alan Archibald was often criticised for standing all game with his arms folded, saying/shouting next to nothing. Now Caldwell's getting criticised for being too vocal? Edit: jot beat me to it!
  4. Not got a clue about who any of the players would be, just to embed the photo.
  5. Your argument comes across very much like Rangers fans & the ‘Blue Pound’. That aside, were we to make it back to the Premiership would you still be OK with your proposal?
  6. I'll do the Peaty Sandy thingy as well.
  7. Have to admit that the Ayr TV ones seem sharper. On youtube here,
  8. Put me down for £2 a goal.
  9. A couple of years too young to have seen him play or manage. Thoughts & condolences to the family. Think the only times I would've seen/met him would have been in his pub, McParland's, in Lennoxtown. Now the Drookit Dug. I was probably underage, have asked some mates still local as to from when to when he owned it. Some details here, although they've spelt his name with an extra h!
  10. See someone has updated OpenStreetMap
  11. My brother had been out for a run in the area and took in 10-15 minutes of the game. „Sensational strike from Miles Storey!“ was what he sent to me.
