This is my first Thistle team. Got to be 65/66 season.

Somebody on one of the older predecessor forums wistfully noted that your favourite Thistle strip tends to be the one you first saw the team in. And probably for that reason, I sub-consciously hark back to that year, somehow hoping that we'll see that strip in use again. Ok, never gonnae happen, I know, but maybe we could return to some latter day version of it, at least with the 'proper' red'n'yella as seen in that picture. Subsequent kits, of whatever design, seem to have lost the hue of that era. Just my opinion.

not keen on white shorts but the rest is good. I first started watching around 69, but my favourite strips are the Umbro striped strips of the late 70's, followed by the stripes in the late 80's into the 90's and the promotion hoops in early 2000's. Strangely never a fan of the league cup winning era yellow tops

Very Tricky!    Other names are correct but the goalkeeper is something of a problem.

Assuming this photo is taken at an actual match (eg, not a public trial) and all 5 were playing, Neil Duffy in 191 appearances only lined up with 4 different keepers ie, Niven (clearly not him), Jim Gray, (doesn't look like him), Wm Ramsay (1 appearance but not him as Smith wasn't playing that day) and Freebairn (doesn't look like him).

Not even entirely convinced it's Firhill.  "Coo shed" looks too near corner flag and terracing looks too high/steep.  If anyone can say where it's taken, it would narrow it down.  Easter Road?  Rugby Park?

Its Ibrox before the lights and the Copland Road shed.
