Duffy is listed in 98 away line-ups.  I've looked at Easter Road, Rugby Park and Ibrox as the most likely contenders.  There are only 6 games where he is listed as playing with Hogan, Cunningham and Smith:-

Kilmarnock 29/4/1961 (Gray)   Hibs 10/1/1962 (Gray)   Rangers 24/1/1962 (Gray)   Rangers 15/9/1962 (Niven)   Kilmarnock 19/9/1962 (Niven)   Hibs 8/12/1962 (Niven).  Clearly not Niven so that leaves 3 games.

Photo doesn't suggest January to me so that leaves April 1961 (1-4).  The only problem with that is that the keeper doesn't look remotely like the photo of Jim Gray I've seen  who, incidentally, is listed as 5ft 10ins.  (Compare with Billy Cunningham who is listed as 5ft 11ins.)   Can't see how it could be McFedries.  (In any case, he is also listed as 5ft 11.)

Is there a remote possibility he is an outfield player with a t-shirt on?  Doesn't help.  The line-up v Kilmarnock was all-well-known faces.

Stumped!  Who is it Stu?

Think I've worked it out.

Think the mysterious Keeper is Right-back Doug Wright at a Ibrox Five a side.

As wild a guess as you can get...

I don't recall any Scottish grounds with railings.  Looks far too substantial a ground in any case.  So, thinking it might be England.  Wright, Gibb and Howitt all played in a friendly on 2 December 1953 against Derby County at the Baseball ground and I'm guessing that this is them loosening up the day before or the morning of the match.

Modern footwear for the early sixties so my guess would be a bit later,  maybe 65 or 66?  Not impossible that it's even late 60s going by the McEwans and Long John Whisky adverts in front of the shed.  This would still put it (just) before my time, which is my excuse for not recognising anyone in the photo from either side.   A postponed match eventually played on a meaningless end of season midweek night might be an alternative explanation for the relatively low crowd.   On the other hand Celtic were winning virtually everything in sight from 66 onwards so would likely still bring a good crowd.  1965?

Looks like a Glasgow Cup  tie on 9 October 1961 (Monday night -hence the floodlights on).  Thistle 1 Celtic 5.  Glasgow Herald report has Hughes heading in the opener from a cross in 26 minutes with Gray badly positioned.  If it's this match then it can't be Fleming as I said earlier.  Don't recognise who it is.

Gray, Hogan, Brown, Cunningham, McKinnon, Donlevy, Ewing, McBride, Smith, Duffy, McParland.  Smith scored 89 mins.
