Does anyone know what happened to him and did he he have or indeed is he still having a positive career with either the round or the oval ball?

According to Wiki he left us to play for Irvine Meadow before then joining Queens Park only to later return to Irvine Meadow where he remains currently.

28.04.2018 St Johnstone [a] D1-1 (SPFL Premiership - game 35)
TIGHTENING MATHEMATICS

  • For the 4th time this season, Thistle travel to McDiarmid Park to face Saints, thereby equalling the category record which was set in 1904-05 (vs. Celtic @ Celtic Park), repeated in 1947-48 (vs. Rangers @ Ibrox) and again in 2001-02 (vs. Inverness Caledonian Thistle @ Caledonian Stadium).
  • For the first time since April Dools Day, 2017, Thistle list an unchanged 18 in terms of both the starting line-up and bench.
  • Conor Sammon maintains his 100% spot-kick record, now 3-out-of-3, all coming in 2018. His most perfect predecessor, Sean Welsh, netted 5-out-of-5.
  • The big Irishman becomes the first loanee in 12 years to register a double figures competitive goals tally season. Jukka Santala, who netted 11 times in season 2005-06, was the last man to do so.
  • Thistle haven't missed a regulation time penalty since September 2014, and have scored 8-in-a-row since then.
  • It's more than 5 years since a converted Thistle penalty contributed to a League win; the last was Aaron Muirhead's 19th minute spot-kick opener which set the Jags up for a 6-1 rout of Livingston way back on the 23rd March, 2013.
  • With this stalemate, an unlikely H2H record sequence of 14 games without a draw ends.
  • It's now mathematically impossible for Thistle to be safe from relegation before the final round of fixtures on match day 38.
  • Only once in the last 100 years (2013-14) have Thistle failed to win back-to-back League games in a season; the class of 2017-18 have 3 games left to avoid being equally tagged with that very poor statistic.

ongoing sequences:

  • 7 competitive games without an away win, 3rd Feb 2018 to date. (Longest run since: 10 games; 19th Aug 2017 to 23rd Dec 2017. Club-record: 26 games; 28th Nov 1908 to 28th Aug 1909.)
  • 14 consecutive competitive appearances for Baily Cargill, 23rd Jan 2018 to date. (Longest run since: Ryan Edwards - 35 games; 8th Aug 2017 to 3rd Apr 2018. Club-record: Johnny Jackson - 313 games; 28th Aug 1926 to 25th Mar 1933.)
  • 15 competitive games without a clean-sheet away from home, 4th Nov 2017 to date. (Longest run since: 16 games; 14th Oct 1989 to 25th Aug 1990. Club-record: 89 games; 31st Oct 1885 to 23rd Jan 1897.)
  • 46 games since back-to-back League wins, 11th Mar 2017 to date. (Longest run since: 71 games; 16th Apr 2013 to 14th Mar 2015. Club-record: 77 games; 2nd Nov 1912 to 5th Dec 1914.)

Slightly different but regarding Livinghell and around the same time, we played them 8 times over a 12 month period. Given that includes a close season of roughly three months, we were playing them effectively once every five weeks during the football season.

If we somehow manage to go up a place and are in the play offs I hope we're matched against Livingston. Then if the worst was to happen we can at least console ourselves knowing we won't have to visit Almondvale (or whatever it's called this week) twice next season.

Being a bit pedantic here, but I guess you mean safe from the playoff position. I think that if we beat County and Well, and County don’t win their midweek game vs Dundee ? we would be safe from relegation but could still finish 11th.

dont know how I quoted LIB

Are there any reliable stats on injuries throughout this season, especially compared to other clubs in this season?

https://www.transfermarkt.com/scottish-premiership/startseite/wettbewerb/SC1

transfermarkt monitors club's injury lists on an ongoing basis, but I'm not too sure if the data can be queried meaningfully.

BYE BYE PRECIOUS POINTS (AGAIN)

  • Chris Erskine nets his 6th goal against County, cementing his place as our 2nd highest scorer of all-time against them.
  • With his 53rd goal in competitive action for the Jags, Squiddy rises into the All-Time Top 40 of our scorers chart.
  • Baily Cargill retires injured in the 57th minute, thereby missing his first game time since joining the club in January.
  • Thistle's yellow card count rises to 83 in competitive action this season, now the highest tally of the 21 seasons recorded by the great Jaggy database.
  • Thistle have taken a single goal lead in 17 of their League games this season, but in the end have failed to win 10 of those matches, relinquishing 25 points all-told.
  • Thistle go 5 competitive home games without defeat versus County, and are 2 away from matching the H2H record of 7.

TJR, isn't it 25 points relinquished all told in the 10 games you refer to above?

Ooft - 5 defeats from winning positions. That ain’t good.

Not too aggrieved by Hibs away and Aberdeen and Celtic home, especially the Aberdeen game where we went behind and fought back to go ahead and then again to equalise before going down 4-3.

It is of course the consecutive Dundee and Hamilton defeats which were really costly. Wins would have seen us not far from safe and even draws would put us bang into a 3 team battle to avoid the play offs and much more comfortably distant from automatic relegation.

That puts it into some perspective, although we are still in a 3 way fight to avoid the playoff.

TJR, what are the corresponding stats for points lost from winning positions in the previous four seasons?

2ugdr2a.jpg

The 2017-18 figures come from my own data, the rest is lifted from transfermrkt for convenience; they're usually pretty good.

Needless to say, this season is the worst of the 5, mind you, everything is worse this season.

4 years ago today we beat Hearts at Tynecastle to stay up. What's the highest attendance we've won in front of since that date? Guessing away to either Dundee or Dundee United?

14,059 that night. Biggest in-person audience for a Jaggy win since then was 6,517:
28.02.2015 Dundee United [a] W2-0 (SPFL Premiership - game 27)

A  study has said the sadness felt after your football team losses lasts twice as long as the joy felt after a victory,so it says it is not logical to be a football fan.

Thanks for this TJR.

Graphic and awful figures indeed for this season compared to the previous four.
