Mediocre Pundit
Seems to have been at a number of decent clubs, spending most of his recent career in League One. Sounds decent.

Members Willjag
Welcome to Firhill Danny. I wonder if that's the interest in the other 2 trialist defenders from last week ended?
Mr Bunny
From that jersey looks like we'll be starting him at left back unless we can get a dedicated left back in by Wednesday. Edited August 11, 2014 by Mr Bunny
Lindau
Signed on a 2 year deal. Certainly will add a bit of height to the back 4 with the added bonus that he can play in central defence and at left back http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2014-2015/august_2014/thistle_sign_defender Edited August 11, 2014 by Lindau

Alan Murray
Being described as a strong and imposing figure in defence - which is exactly the type of player we need. Coventry fans split on him though we some saying he is slow. Only time will tell but Archie must be confident on him as he is on a two year deal. cjptfc
Good news. Hopefully he's a better option than what we have.

I take it Elvis has recommended him to Archie, seems a bit strange we trialled every other defender including Barr who we know is up to the job, yet we haven't seen this guy and he's signed for 2 years.lets hope he turns out better than the last defender we signed on a 2 year deal! The Arch
The second par of the official site story is a great retort to the haters on here. Be interesting to see which defensive space we're still looking to cover if he can play left back and centre back. Time will tell.
Mediocre Pundit
I noticed that too Arch - a fair comment, fully justified and I'm sure aimed squarely at the content of this forum over the last few weeks.
Lindau
Ahem, well according to this he can play both centre half and left back!! Don't think he will be on 5 grand a week in Maryhill though! http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/southampton-footballer-dan-seaborne-left-151257#.U-iQHn-9KSM Edited August 11, 2014 by Lindau
BowenBoys
"With our opening game of the new season now just a mere couple of days away we are delighted to confirm that the manager has been rewarded for his patience and his refusal to simply sign a player for the sake of it." Proof that somebody is reading this forum?
Members Willjag
To be honest, that sort of statement (if it is aimed at internet critics) is uncalled for and makes whoever penned it just as bad as those that were voicing their concerns. I hope that's not a sign of things to come from the OS. Anyway, back to Danny. 6'3" tall so a good bit of height there for a change. Hopefully he can be a bit of a handfull at the other end of the park at set plays as well.
The Arch
Also the mention of "completing formalities" suggests we'd been working on it for a few days and he was possibly the guy Archie was talking about last week.
Dark Passenger
I think it's completely justified given the criticism of the club's strategy and questioning of the manager's integrity.
Lindau
Totally agree Willjag. Not sure why it was necessary to have a dig at people that spend their hard earned following the club. All that everybody did was say was that they were concerned that we had lost a lot of players but only brought two in. Not quite sure what is wrong with that!
Andynptfc
Looks to be just what we need. Left sided centre back who can also play at LB. Seems to have played at a decent level aswell. Found this, which is a bit of a worry, hopefully he's matured quite a bit since. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/southampton-footballer-dan-seaborne-left-151257
ThickAsThieves
Welcome Danny. I'd imagine he'll start at left-back, but if he's more comfortable in the centre then hopefully we sign another LB and play Seaborne in the middle. Fox/Gallacher McMillan Muirhead Balatoni Seaborne Fraser Osman Bannigan Stevenson Higginbotham Doolan Would be happy with that for Wednesday. Mr Bunny
Disingenuous. Sure, the majority were only expressing concern but a couple at least were having a go at the manager over this. I don't think you can blame the OS for making that comment in support of the manager though it might have been better if they'd said nothing, The signing speaks for itself and nothing else need have been added. Members Willjag
I think it's completely justified given the criticism of the club's strategy and questioning of the manager's integrity. You're standards are slipping DP! Anyhow, let's not let this thread develop into an argument over the wording of the article on the OS. Derby Jag
Rather petty and unprofessional of the OS to be putting that message there. Anyway happy with his signing. Good pedigree, addresses a key deficiency in the squad and versatile. I hope however that if he is to be our first choice left back, that he is genuinely comfortable in that position and is capable of playing the attaching style required by our full backs. Interested to see where he plays on Wednesday Some words of caution though, Coventry fans not fussed at all at his departure based on reading their forum where he was seen as 4th/5th choice centre back, and he is seemingly to be replaced by Brian McLean who wouldn't have been an inspiring signing
