  1. Only Thistle could lose an imaginary play off!

  2. Email Scott Allison, I did this for my grandson and got a reply very quickly. He will ask you to give him some dates when your grandson will be playing so they can send someone along to watch.

  3. Personally I've no issue with it if they behave themselves - same goes for any supporters, including our own. If Thistle fans aren't buying the tickets, surely better that the club receives revenue from Celtic fans? As long as they behave themselves.

  5. If Celtic fans could behave themselves they wouldn’t have smashed seats at most grounds they visit, wouldn’t have to use their own stewards (due to safety issues for own clubs stewards), wouldn’t be banned from the main stand at Firhill, wouldn’t be having areas of Parkhead closed down, wouldn’t have Celtic getting punished regularly from UEFA.

  6. Thanks for that GRE. In a way that shows our recent run (10-8-9-6-11) in the top flight favourably. It also shows just how much of a yo-yo club we would've been under today's league set up. Realise you can't match like for like but by my reckoning there's at least* four relegations and three promotions within that spell. *more if we lost imaginary play offs in '61 & '65.

  7. We would need to put rainbow colours on it though in keeping with our open closet stance

  8. From 1959-60 to 1974-75 Thistle's final placings were as follows. 59-60. 10th 60-61. 11th 61-62. 7th 62-63. 3rd 63-64. 7th 64-65. 11th. 65-66. 12th 66-67. 12th 67-68. 10th. 68-69. 14th. 69-70. 18th(relegation) 70-71. 1st (promotion) 71-72. 7th. 72-73. 13th. 73-74. 11th 74-75. 13th. Reconstruction followed and we were in 2nd tier. Only 4 times in the top half of a division of 18 for these years. 19 in our promotion year.

  9. To save any bother what should have happened would have been to let Celtic have the whole ground and give us the Canal bank to stand, sure its a restricted view but at the end of the day its all money in the bank........

  10. A classic design from when I first went to Firhill. Plus always preferred red shorts to black.

  11. Agreed. It hasn't aged at all; would still look great among the modern visual catastrophes that pass for football strips.

  12. Andy Anderson, Brian Whittaker, John MacDonald and I'm guessing Alex O'Hara in the background. 4-3 win, 1980?

  13. Re Fox. I watched my 17yr old grandson recently playing in goal for a junior team. He normally plays at u19 level with an Academy Team. So a big jump for him from his normal and I admit to being a bit worried due to age and physical development differences. In the first 5 minutes he confidently, under pressure, took and held a high dangerous cross on his 6 yard line. Immediately earning the respect of his defence ans spectators. He did this on 3 further occasions during the match. Everytime he took a cross usually from well off his line I thought of how Fox doesn't or rarely does this. Aberdeen and Rangers (heaven forbid) have both looked at him so I might send a letter to Firhill mamagement!

  14. What Colin Weir did for our Club can never be underestimated, debt free , Academy started , ownership of the whole ground again. That is Colin Weirs legacy, I hope he gets a fantastic send off.
