  1. I would go for Fox, Sneddon & Arthur in goal - build the team around that

  2. Something ought to be done about this cretin.

  3. The performance, if not the result, should at least give us some confidence for the Arbroath game.

  4. It's good to know that the club are doing thorough homework on players they may not be signing . . .

  6. It’s a complicated issue if the club are trying to sign Brian Graham. He has a one game ban to serve and if Thistle were to sign him today he could play tomorrow but then miss the game at Arbroath. If however they waited to Thursday then he will serve his ban with County for their game on Wednesday so he’d be free to play Saturday. This is all assuming of course we are trying to sign him. I’d guess if he is a target he will sign on Thursday next week.

  8. Presumably the manager sees them every day and is best placed to make those decisions? Bottom line is most of us were fearful of a hounding. Yes it's a defeat but bit by bit the team is getting better.

  9. I know what you are saying but disagree. Both penners and tommy are very one footed. Their natural tackling shape and foot make it much easier for a left winger to pass them on the outside. We had few options today which is why I can understand why mccall played robson there. I’m sure he did that with reservations. But we can all agree that it did not work. tbf we may well have struggled if Williamson was playing. He puts in great deliveries but is poor defensively. Hence - we definitely need a rb. It’s our number one priority in my opinion.

  10. Thought O’Ware had an excellent game tonight. Won a lot of ball in the air and on the ground and really led the team. Bannigan, Cole, McKinnon and Penrice all stood up to the task and did not show too much respect to Celtic. Penrice unlucky with first goal as ball broke to Griffiths after Penrice tried to retrieve Robson’s error. Robson had a dreadful first half but showed a fair bit of character to give a much improved performance in the second half.

  11. All of the above. On the positive side, Saunders did a very good job tonight in an unfamiliar position.. Fox was excellent too. Slater good when he came on. We're still shaky at centre back when attacked, but hopefully they'll take some heart from the fact that the goals came from a deflection and an unfortunate assist from Penrice, rather than any disorganisation or incompetence (Robson's shittery apart).

  12. Although playing two up top is admirable, we have to get the ball to then in order for it to be effective. We've been nowhere close to providing them with any supply so far.

  13. I think he means the Airdrie 2-1 game when Christie scored late on to give us the win, although it didn’t win us the league.

  15. Apologies. Write out 100 times "I must learn to read the question correctly". Thought it referred to the 1971 league cup final! (Dowie and Erskine correct.)

  16. Celtic coming back from their holidays in Dubai. French Eddy likely to be rested and Leigh Griffiths likely to start with their new signing Klimala on the bench. That could be good or bad news I suppose but our defence will be happier facing Griffiths physically and pace wise than the strong and free-running Edouard, imo. We haven’t beaten this mob at Firhill since 1993 in a competitive game so odds of around 22/1 for a home win may be justifiable. However Sir Ian has bedded back in. The team is capable of scrapping for a victory although also a 4-1 or 5-1 pumping never seems that far away. So I reckon we have a chance but will go down to the odd goal. Partick Thistle 1 Celtic 2

  18. I am sorry but Sevco and Celtic fans can celebrate all they want, just do not do it in the Thistle end. it is not asking much is it ?

  20. Have to say though this has been a superb window so far, assuming we get graham, Himself, rudden, Mackinnon and extending coles loan is fantastic business in itself as far as January goes. If we could now get either McCart or Forrest on pre contracts as well as maybe one or 2 of the rangers and Celtic centre and left backs on loan as short term plugs then I would say this has been a superb window. Brownlie and Docherty too if you count them. Super Ian McCall! Only complaint is I would have hoped to have got rid of a few more players but I can understand this isint always easy to do, plus there’s still time yet I suppose.

  21. Personally I've no issue with it if they behave themselves - same goes for any supporters, including our own. If Thistle fans aren't buying the tickets, surely better that the club receives revenue from Celtic fans? As long as they behave themselves.

  23. I f*cking long for the recent days in the SPL when we would go into this kind of fixture thinking we have a chance of an upset rather than a cricket score against us. How far we have fallen. C’mon McCall, get the team balance sorted and the players up for it.

  24. Been thinking this myself. Rudden and Graham in (assuming the latter is true) means we have an overload of non-firing strikers. 39 year old Miller on allegedly 3k a week. Basic economics dictate that Miller should be heading to the dole queue at Cowcaddens.
