  1. Season ticket sales may well suffer because of the wider picture here. It shouldn't be forgotten that there may be a fair number of current season ticket holders who won't be able to afford to renew because of the economic impact of the pandemic on their jobs and incomes.

  2. There is a situation where resignation would be an option If we lose, we resign. If Doncaster loses he resigns. That should swing a few votes our way !

  4. We have to accept a democratic vote by the members. If it goes against us, that's hellish, but there is nothing we can practically do. And your ' plan's is not a plan. It is rank irresponsibility.

  6. I'll be buying one regardless. With everything going on I really don't care if relegated or not. We have been terrible for a long time. More importantly we will be in lockdown for another 4 weeks at least and then over months restrictions will come and go. Firhill will be a godsend to go to. To get out the house and with the ability to perform social distancing due to crowd v stadium. I've been lucky as I have not been severely impacted by the pandemic but it makes you look at things differently. Don't get me wrong when this ends I'll go back like everyone else to living my own self obsessed life worrying about things that are not that important. However at this time I have realised how important the club is to me and I cannot wait to get back to Firhill. I don't care what league. I just want to get back. McCall will get us back up and then we look to push on.

  7. Clubs are desperate for the end of season money, to which they are entitled, in order to survive. They are being told, "you're not getting it unless you vote to relegate Partick Thistle and Stranraer". Abhorrent hardly does it justice.

  8. Very clear that, by declaring that there'll be no football before June, SPFL have strong-armed clubs into supporting the proposal, to get the prize money they need to help them survive. Absolutely shameful behaviour by Doncaster, SPFL et al, but no surprise there. We'll go down, and need to concentrate on getting back up asap. Alongside that, we need to remember the member clubs who sold out 'sporting integrity' in favour of the money. I understand why they have voted out of self interest, but, having thrown PTFC under the bus, they shouldn't be surprised that people like me will never set foot in their grounds in the future. Hopefully other Jags fans will do the same.

  9. Preaching to the converted. I love watching football on Sunny days or crisp evenings in August when the parks are pristine and there is no need for crappy artificial surfaces. I have about another million reasons for wanting football in the Summer time. Won,t happen! Far to many traditionalist who love walking to the game in a freezing bollocks gale.

  11. With all due respect, Sandy, that's way off the mark. Been plenty of decent football played at Firhill. Just not by us.

  13. Vote yes you get your share of the money. Vote no you don't get your share of the money. For the SPFL it's called following the rules to almost everyone else itsc alled blackmail!

  16. One more reason to dislike this poorly supported, stinking east coast football franchise risen from the ashes of Ferrari Thistle & Meadowbank Thistle.

  17. In reply to the original poster I’m not convinced season tickets will bomb at all. If we end up being shafted there’s a good chance more of our fans will buy tickets to ensure we survive, climb back up the leagues and hopefully wave at clubs who voted to relegate us as we go up and they go down like Clyde, Morton, Ayr etc (oh and wouldn’t it be lovely to pinch some of ayrs better players again as icing on the cake)

  18. Entirely agree with all you say Barney, until the last paragraph. Doncaster has played blinder. We will be relegated democratically. The news this afternoon, that the restriction of movement in Scotland will continue for many weeks, will focus the minds of many smaller clubs when they vote tomorrow. We have no clout. There will be no support from other clubs as they will have voted against us. There will be no media outrage as it doesn't affect the Old Firm and so will not create a groundswell of interest. In Tom English's article he didn't even mention our game in hand, which is a vital fact in this situation. We are diddies. The press are just waiting to churn out reams of copy once the Premiership is decided.

  19. The best plan would be to join with Rangers, Hearts and Falkirk to demonstrate why this is unfair and to come up with an alternative proposal for the distribution of the much needed cash. If it goes to a vote and the SPFL get their 75% then that is probably it, unless Rangers or Hearts were to mount a challenge. We have to face facts and we are not big enough on our own.

  20. Last 5 games before shut down QOS- 2Points, Partick Thistle - 4 points. Not great put shows we were poor but better than QOS. F1 has a rule already in place saying a championship can only be awarded if at least 8 races take place. As far as i know football doesn't have any such rule, so to just decide it is ok to relegate teams when the full season hasn't been completed is just wrong.

  26. It depends on ‘normal’....most countries want to get past Easter then begin phase 2......Austria, Denmark Sweden Spain and Italy already beginning this ( 5 week lockdowns looks an average) U.K. govt looking at opening primary schools ( looks like young kids don’t even get the virus ) and getting younger people back to some kind of work interestingly Jet2 say they will restart flying in June 17 so normal could be games behind close doors in June

  27. We have no choice but to accept any democratic vote my our fellow members. That's what every club signs up for

  28. It would not kill the Club. Firstly, the SPFL would probably back down; other Clubs would support us and threaten to do the same. If none of the above changed things, then yes we drop down. It would not kill the Club, there would be a groundswell of support, respect and recognition that a Club was prepared to take a principled stance against bullying.

  29. Rangers, Hearts, Stranraer and Partick have it right there is no need to link payment of end of season monies to the vote. The fact the SPFL have done this fools no one. It is a transparent and clumsy device to encourage hard pressed clubs to vote for the season to end so that they can get the money! I have always thought the football authorities in Scotland are ethically and morally corrupt and this form of blackmail proves the case! As for the prospects of reconstruction - don't count on it. Budge has already seen through this! She knows clubs like Kilmarnock, Hibs, Aberdeen, the Dundee Clubs, especially United and Motherwell will oppose changing the League structure, certainly at SPL level. As I said a couple of weeks ago we should team up with Rangers and Hearts and any other clubs who are opposed to this plan and embark on a vigorous challenge.

  30. Other things about this vote. Why do Premiership teams vote on what is to happen in the other 3 leagues? Also, For the resolution to pass, nine Premiership clubs, eight Championship, and 15 in Leagues One and Two combined need to vote in favour, so what happens if they fall short on this eg Only 8 Premiership vote in favour, but they get the required votes in the other leagues, does that means it doesn’t pass?

  31. Why do we need to wait until next week? Because they probably learned their lesson back in 2004 when the SPL chairmen voted to keep Thistle in the SPL and refuse ICT promotion............ and we all know how that ended up, don't we This way they can do their horse trading over the weekend and remove the need for a 2nd vote. As to why they want a vote before discussion of reconstruction, well call me a cynic but once they get the result they are after they could then conveniently drop plans for reconstruction or simply drag discussions on long enough to effectively time them out. The bottom line is I simply don't believe the SPFL want league reconstruction, however clubs like Thistle and Stranraer are causing them a major problem so they have come up with this plan to get the other clubs to vote to relegate us thus doing their dirty work for them. Offering the carrot of league reconstruction will probably make the pill easier to swallow for some clubs and may be enough to swing the vote. Once they have the result they want they then pull the league reconstruction rug away from under the feet of the clubs whilst simultaneously pointing the finger of blame for us being relegated at the clubs and not themselves. As you can probably work out from the above I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in the SPFL and fully expect us to get royally shafted!

  32. Of course for the "authorities" of Scottish football PTFC can be kicked around with ease. They've done it before, and they feel they can do it again. They know that we are toothless not only on the pitch (no major cup final in 50 years, managed the top 6 of the top league briefly once in even longer; basically for them we bring nothing of note to the game), but also off it (relatively small fan base, no financial clout, a reputation for meekness at club and fan level). Their decision should come as no surprise to anybody.

  33. I'll no doubt still buy a season ticket regardless of what league we're in. One thing miffs me tho' is I think the concession pricing is still at the same level we were getting charged when we were in the top league.

  34. As soon as Low is away i will back this but for as long as she has her grubby mitts on our club it is not for me. These charlatans that are going for fan ownership are weak and will keep her as chairman of the club for sure.
