  1. That’s as maybe, but going on past seasons we are unlikely to start playing football until the new year

  2. I find that a bit strange also. I'd assumed, as many on here had as well, that SFA arbitration would be an internal whitewash. It's now clear that their procedure is robust, and most importantly completely independent. It might not give us the outcome we're looking for but it will be a fair review of the facts by highly qualified professionals. Begs the question why we didn't go down this route in the first place.

  3. As Auld Jag has already noted on another thread, Tommy experienced a Damascus Road conversion and saw the light at half-time of the Celtic cup tie. He followed a dreadful first half with a creditable second half, and then took that confidence into the next few games (especially against Dundee United where his skilful movement won the penalty). I agree, however, that this was a case of "too little" and certainly "too late", and his departure is hardly a cause for wailing and gnashing of teeth. Lady Isobel Barnett has also commented on his lack of versatility. This is surprising. You would have thought that with a name like Tom Robson, he would be equally at home at Number 2, 4, 6 or 8, and that he would always arrive on time.

  4. I know a number of private sector care home operators and this agrees completely with what they have told me. It seems to me that if you took care homes out of the numbers, Scotland and England would have much lower numbers. The strategy to move people from hospitals into are homes when you had a disease whose symptoms did not show for several days was a massive error. It was an error made by both Scottish and UK governments.

  6. Rumour is that he could soon have a new team mate in Fernando Torres. Can you hear the Drums, Fernando?

  7. There was a shortage in every nation across the globe especially care homes. No one was ready for anything like this. Public and private sector.

  8. Calm down Jeanne. The default move was get people out hospitals. Infected went into care homes. And left there. Scotland did nothing different from most but that does not mean they did better. It was the wrong move. My mates a social worker in the Paisley hospital and acks those actions killed a lot of people. It was process not people. And PPE was no better in Scotland. Demand was far greater than supply all over the world. These are all issues that impacted Europe.

  9. I care about what's right and wrong and know nothing about the Law. Never mind being in our favour, everything that happened after 16.48 on that Friday, should be wiped clean and any costs relating to it, paid by the people responsible. Take it all back to the point where all votes were in and it was a firm and fair NO. Whoever did what they did after this point, should be dealt with accordingly. All matters after 16.48 were based on lies, corruption and deceit. The SPFL and a number of member clubs in it, are a disgrace to Scotland.

  10. I was also expecting a much higher goal return from Tam, based on his exploits with Morton. Our most successful seasons in reasonably recent memory have involved regularly scoring centre backs, Conrad Balatoni winning promotion and Liam Lindsay in gaining Top 6. It was so great to have that feeling of excited anticipation every time we were awarded a corner!

  11. Be interesting re Dundee’s vote , was getting dismissed at the time ( firewall etc ) , now there is an admission that it actually was received. Surely that’s got to be in our favour

  12. I’m pleased to see the penny has dropped for at least some of the support that when it comes to courts and legal action, not all methods of sticking two fingers up at the SPFL and Scottish football are necessarily clever, worth it or in your interests. Even and perhaps even especially if someone else is paying.

  15. I have the same issue. But @topcat ‘s daughter is hand-making making those masks that @BowenBoys mentions with a wire nose bridge; I have one on order.

  16. I also think there is a fair chance of that outcome. And indeed, there always was. I am not sure that being directed by the court to do something that you were always permitted/required to do anyway But didn’t want to is necessarily a victory though!

  17. I was going to make the same point as in your second paragraph. If you are looking for an experienced player with a good attitude who can start half the games and come on and influence the other half then I would take Erskine over Cardle every time.
