    Groups Stage

Work through the groups and decide which position each team will finish.

For example: Group A. Qatar to finish 4th; Ecuador 3rd; Senegal 1st; Netherlands 2nd. Your entry will be 4312. Repeat for all Groups and post all 32 numbers.

One point for each correct position. Bonus point if all four teams in a group are correct.

Please note: Only teams that you predict for first or second place in each group will be available for you to select in the knockout phase of the tournament.

Deadline for entries 3pm, Sunday 20 November

    A 4 2 3 1

    B 1 3 4 2

    C 1 4 3 2

    D 1 3 2 4

    E 2 4 1 3

    F 1 4 3 2

    G 1 3 2 4

    H 2 3 1 4

    thanks BB

  2. I think the release actually makes the club look worse. “We had no self awareness of how inappropriately we had acted until some others fans sat us down and pointed it out to us”.

It is one thing to be empowered as a decision maker but it’s another thing entirely to have no awareness of the reaction to those decisions unless someone else points it out to you.

I recall in the 60s and 70s, Scottish clubs always used to arrange pre-season friendlies against English clubs. This meant that, though these weren’t true competitive games with something at stake, at least they had the element of ‘Scotland v England’ about them. Thistle also arranged games against a foreign team too, from time to time back then. I ‘get it’ that we’re second tier at the moment, and money is tighter etc, but if you’re hoping for fans to turn up, rather than it being purely a testing ground for players, tactics etc, you have to give them something they actually want to watch.

The two seasons start at very different times so that rules out games of old against English teams at most levels. When the English are doing their pre season we’re  firmly entrenched in the group stages of the league cup.

    Haha.

He's quite a well known A N Other (if my source has it right).

This photo, and his identity, comes up quite regularly on social media. I don’t remember him when he played in Scotland (too young) but I didn’t think he looked like a youngster in this photo. Nice to see him using his feet instead of his hands though.

I see another Old Firm misfit, Kyle Lafferty, has left Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta.

Seems to have left early, no doubt the old "mutual consent".

He has been linked with Dunfermline, by some of their fans admittedly.

I wouldn't want Griffiths because of the baggage, he is imo a shadow of his former self, unlike McDonald and Miller who did look after themselves. In saying that i would not be surprised to see Griffiths end up at Livingston  or St. Mirren.

Or Kilmarnock. McInnes is a known admirer of Griffiths and he would be a landmark first signing.

No email re tomorrow night despite Ayr being first choice. No streaming code. Email sent to 3 separate email addresses and yet no reply.

Apart from that everything’s great :frantic:

Same here. I received the email explaining how to bid for attendance and sent it off on time so they clearly have my season ticket recorded against my email account. I also had a covid pass a few weeks ago so my streaming account is linked to the same email address. Despite being in the system twice I have received nothing, nor a response to my follow up emails which were sent as per their instructions.

  8. This is just a European version of the Scottish Super League. If I remember correctly our own club was quick to add their name to the breakaway clubs promoting that car crash, and none of them showed any concern for the clubs it would leave behind.

Amateur teams with miniscule squads and walking wounded always manage 2/3/4 games a season traditionally at this time of year (caused by continual winter postponements) ... I’m quite sure that if the amateurs can manage then the so-called professional part time/full time teams will be just fine.

Amateur teams and junior teams usually parachute youth players into their teams as trialists. Filling the bench with 18 year old youth players is fine in that setting but unacceptable in the professional game. If we need a team to get a result against Falkirk and they’re decimated by Covid so forced to capitulate by fielding local boys club players then it would be a farce.

  10. I think anyone giving the ref any credit in this incident  is being far too generous. Looking away when the incident happens BUT doesn’t seek to speak to the linesman AND goes immediately for the red card. Seems to me he was more than happy to ‘make an honest mistake’.
