  1. after only 79 days 😂 Breaking news on live feed for tonight's games https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/68198616
  2. At least we did have the option to recall him but with Diack's recent form I think we are okay without him.
  3. Crazy statistic! If games ended after 75 mins we would be top and Raith 8th

    Player fund

I'm sure someone from TJF can answer much better than me. As far as I understand the £500k will be sitting in bank account intentionally not being spent so that there is never any future cashflow issues similar to earlier in year that would threaten clubs survival. Some of it will only be used in short term if there is a bill to be paid and money will then be replaced by prize/sponsor money etc shortly afterwards. The only other scenario I would suspect would be if a major repair was needed to stadium. Spending the money on team hoping to get promotion would not be the plan as that sort of short term thinking is what got us in to trouble last season.
  5. I also thought that first game Williams played at right back Lawless really helped him by always being available for a pass so he didn't get caught in possession and as a result his confidence has increased over last few games and he looks a much better player now having had to switch to left back.
  6. Good old BBC report says we apparently played 'with 10 men for the final 15 minutes'. Report even mentions that Graham was sent off after being substituted. Can't remember the last time match report didn't contain some sort of obvious mistake. Very poor. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/67318696
  7. Rather confused by the typical BBC report as apparently Sibbald 'scored the game's only goal' according to picture caption above report. Does no one ever proof read anything! 🤦‍♂️ https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/67073709
  8. Not exactly Thistle but that has worked for Scotland in last couple of years several times when we've taken off Che Adams and brought on Lyndon Dykes
  9. No mention of any inspection at the moment https://spfl.co.uk/news/saturday-update-49484
  10. That's what Robertson and Tierney do on left side for Scotland and it seems to work well.
  11. Now 5-2 with Dowds getting the 5th As I said on one of the other threads I hope we have the option to recall him in January
  12. Would be interesting to know if we can recall Dowds in January. If he finds some form with Ayr and we have some injuries would be useful to have as an option.
  13. As well as changing starting 11 last year several of the players who dropped out got the night off so there were limited options on bench. As long as we have full strength bench then I think it would be sensible to give at least Adeloye and Robinson chance to start game with Williams also having to come in for Neilson.
  14. Yes, exactly. To be honest I don't really pay much attention on deadline day from a Thistle perspective as any players we are likely to sign would be loan deals or free agents which we can still sign afterwards.
  15. As far as I am concerned this keeps me sufficiently updated as to what is going on with work at Firhill. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/chairmans-programmes-notes-v-queens-park-26th-august-2023/ It looks like this will be a regular update at every home game so we can be kept informed about these sort of topics without going in to too much detail.
  16. As far as I understand (might have been said at TJF AGM) as they still had to pay notice period for McCall etc and Doolan and McDonald were already on payroll there was no saving or increased cost because of sacking decision in short term at least. Archie has now found a new job so presumably is no longer working notice period as garden leave so potential saving there now.

  18. I've just read the story in some of the papers online and SPFL are saying they have paid upfront already for this season so looks like no immediate issue.
  19. Looks like hopefully some incoming players soon according to Kris at bottom of article on official site: “I can assure fans I have been working around the clock over the past two weeks on securing deals with players who want to play for Partick Thistle next season and we will be able to begin announcing some of those this week. The response from Jags fans over the past fortnight or so has been nothing short of remarkable, in particular season ticket sales, which is a huge boost and makes me even more proud to be Partick Thistle manager.”
  20. This was discussed during Q&A last night and due to increased membership and existing members increasing their donation amount there appears to be no issue with fulfilling this commitment.

  22. I don't think so. I think these games are just part of Sky's overall package so their fee goes in to overall prize money pot.
  23. Question for the archivists. I was thinking this on way home last night, is this the longest season we have ever had? Without a break for world cup/winter break etc our first competitive game was on July 9th 2022 and our final game will be on 4th June 2023, almost 11 months.
  24. They switched a game with Cove Rangers in January (I think)
  25. According to rules we are entitled to up to 20% of the capacity (section 29) https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/media/5364/scottish-cup-rules-for-2019-20.pdf (This was from several years ago but I can't imagine it's changed)
