  1. There were several key moments last season. The 5-1 win over Dumfermline was great but I started to believe that we would, not just could, win the League after the 3-2 win over Raith Rovers. At 2-2 and with less than ten minutes to play, we would have settled for a draw in other seasons - not this one. Really looking forward to tonight. 2. I'm very unhappy about this. If you contrast the match on Saturday 27th April with the renactment of the Battle of the Boyne/Easter uprising 1916 just two days later, you have to ask, why are we being punished for their behaviour? I used to sit in the JH stand but moved last year at my sons' prompting - the atmosphere was great and as my youngest boy said, " Dad, I 've never heard you sing so much at a game." Now I know that we had a lot to sing about last year but have to say thanks to all the young Jags fans in the North Stand who helped make it such a great match-day experience. Durachdan, Eddy
  3. It's from the RCAHMS website which says its "collection date" is 1989. 4. I live near the ground and noticed the "greatest fans in the world" arriving fairly early, then police vans everywhere and a helicoptor presence from 6.30 until 9.30. The FA Youth Cup final at Carrow Rd. tonight passed of without any of the above in front of a 22,000 strong crowd. Durachdan, Eddy
  5. I thought it was great to see so many glory hunters/ lapsed fans/ emigres/ casual fans etc at the Final the other day. I hope they enjoyed the atmosphere, if not the result , and will want to come to Firhill for more thrills. It's good too to read about parents taking their weans along to their first Jags' game. We met a father and son on Sunday; the wee boy was six and, until then, had been to fifteen Jags games this season and saw them win all fifteen! Looking forward to tonight's game. Durachdan, Eddy
  6. "What other job would you be allowed to constantly make mistakes and still get paid and not even disciplined?" Banking. Durachdan, Eddy
  7. It's been good to see the Jags get an ever increasing number of column inches as this season has progressed. The Evening Times and Herald have been particularly good with a story almost every day. Looking forward to Sunday, my oldest son is coming up from London to join me and the youngest one at what should be a great week. 'Mon the Jags! Durachdan, Eddy
  8. I was reluctant to move to the North Stand at first but at my son's prompting agreed - it's great. He told me that he'd never seen me singing at games before this. I do wish though that he and his brother would stop swearing so much - I'm going to tell their mothers. Durachdan, Eddy
  9. The Evening Times has been giving the Jags some decent coverage recently; there's a wee piece with Davie McParland today. Durachdan, Eddy http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/sfl/mcparland-i-built-winning-side-with-buttons-now-its-jackie-who-can-be-111907n.19855248
  10. Always pleased to be corrected on detail. I've checked my source at the Scotsman archive though and it has another photo, same date, with an irate crowd outside Firhill because the game was called off at 2.45pm. Can anyone confirm this either way? Durachdan, Eddy
  11. Really pleased to see us fight back from that awful first goal and their equaliser to get a well-deserved winner - great feeling to see the ball in the net.The ref and his linesmen were the worst I've seen this season but.... nine home games, nine wins. Durachdan, Eddy
  12. Hi Stu, the waterlogged pitch is from 10th Feb 1959, we were due to play Falkirk. i'll try to be precise with these pics. Durachdan, Eddy
  13. StutheJag has a great wee site with loads of Jags stuff which should be of interest to fans of all ages. I've sent him a few things to add to it and will look out more when I've time. Durachdan, Eddy
  14. I collect old photos of Maryhill, do you have any that you'd like to pass on? (Scanned versions would be fine) Anything at all: school photos, photos taken at home, at work, at Firhill. I'm particularly interested in pics from the '50s,'60s and '70s and would probably sell my soul for a picture of Oakbank Terrace. Durachdan, Eddy
  15. Good coverage of the game on BBC Alba as usual; it's still available on BBC iPlayer. Note though that there's a Parental Guidance sticker on it pointing out that it "contains strong language." I'm not sure if that's a reference to the Gaelic commentary or the Jags fans' in full-flight! Durachdan, Eddy
