  1. Good effort BB, and sorry for making you wait so long for my money. No truth in the rumour that I'd have paid much earlier if I wasn't 11th in the draw...
  2. Just noticed this - put me in for £3 a point BB. Good effort!
  3. Ah well, 60% of us won't mind as long as we now focus on the league; 40% of us are gutted. Good discussion chaps - maybe next season we can have both.
  4. One for those that watch the development team - how is Neil progressing? We obviously had high hopes for him with him getting his debut last season - is he kicking on and looking like a future first team player?
  5. For clarification, the winner-takes-all option should be regarded as the last game of the league season against, say, Killie or Accies, where we need to win (or maybe draw) to finish 10th - i.e. it's still in our hands but is going down to the wire. (see Ayr United...)
  6. It would also be good to understand why people vote the way they do - for example if voting for top six is this for long term health of club, financial reward, just to have a bit less stress supporting Thistle...?
  7. With the Dundee United game on Saturday it would be interesting to gauge how we would regard Scottish Cup success against Premiership survival. Note in the options that I've not said whether we'd win the Scottish Cup or the 'winner takes all' game to avoid the playoffs - the choice is between comfortable league success and an uncertain, potentially glorious but potentially heartbreaking, end to the season (see Wigan Athletic...) Thoughts?
  8. I was chatting about the "Partick Thistle signed A German" in work today and it turns out one of my mates (Indian) is a Kerala Blasters fan. Random. Anyway, he said German is decent.
  9. I'm having similar resignation to the above, albeit replace 'summer football' with 'an artificial pitch' Indeed it could be good timing for this with the Warriors seemingly having outgrown Scotstoun - a pitch like at Killie would allow us to groundshare with them again, helping the cost of install and giving us ongoing revenue, while giving them increased capacity for big games.
  10. We should keep Bannigan because we're still in with a chance of winning the Scottish Cup.
  11. If we're offered a decent fee with a sell on clause then I'd accept. It would be a good move for Bannigan - in the immediate term Welsh, Fraser and Osman is still a good midfield and we could use the money to strengthen / extend contracts.
  12. Weren't we looking at the Dunfermline boy last summer? I'm sure Archie had a look but decided against it.
  13. I still can't believe Doolan didn't score in the first half. If he finished that it would have been a glorious move.
  14. The appear to have got Scott Allison's name wrong. Still, very complimentary about our youth setup.
  15. Must be fans leaving a spare seat between them to make the ground feel fuller than it is. Useful advice.
  16. I've been chased on two occasions and punched once (well, junkie-slapped...) all by Sevco fans when wearing Thistle colours. I don't think we'd actually played them on the days in question, it was just general Saturday night stuff but was clearly football related. Never had any problem with Celtic fans. Both sets are clearly a bunch of jakes though.
  17. I really enjoy games at Braehead and there are definitely things we could learn / copy from them, however the dynamic is very different as previously mentioned - there's no real rivalry, no swearing, all family focussed, lots of stoppages etc... It also helps that the stadium is enclosed and always almost full. But as an event it is generally better than a Thistle game, probably helped by the fact that I care much less about the outcome.
  18. I believe BB has tried to contact the JT already and hasn't had a response? Surprising... I'll chip in too - amount variable depending on how many people agree but anything up to £100.
  19. Yip, huge appreciation here also. In particular great that the money is going to structural things - youth setup, debt clearance, fans group, rather than wasting it on transfer fees and players. Helping us towards a sustainable future. Hopefully the next stage is a proper consultation and decision on what we do about our stadium - be it at Firhill (my preference) or elsewhere.
  20. I quite like the bonus point idea. However I also agree with the point that penalties (which are a bit of a lottery) isn't the best way to do it and guarantees someone getting the bonus point. Instead it could have been 30 minutes 'golden goal' extra time - if noone scores then it remains 1 point each, however if a team scores they get the bonus point. It may encourage a more attacking 30 minutes...but then the golden goal was meant to do that and I can barely recall a game that wasn't shit because of it. Anyway, i generally like it. Would prefer all second placed teams to go into a playoff for the final four spots - think its a bit tidier - but not too fussed. Also, will all games be split gates? That would be good. If not then they should be on the season ticket (which may be increased in price a bit to cover) Edit: if split gates then a price cap of £10 would be good too, see if we can get some good crowds in and reward fans a bit.
  21. I appreciate that this is selective quoting but the "chance presented itself" through Doolan taking a great first touch to spin in the box, use strength to hold off a challenge and fire a precise shot across goal and into the far corner. In short, Doolan turned a loose ball fired into the box into a goal, pretty much all by himself and in a way he's done so often in the past. Sure, he has limitations (and missed chances yesterday) but it should be acknowledged how good his goal actually was.
