I see Sean Welsh is signing for Queens Park.  I’d like to see us sign someone like him, sits in the middle of the park and totally controls the midfield.  There’s not many like him and Docherty around.  The only other one that caught my eye this Season against us was Spencer for Falkirk that performed the same role.

The other thing I wondered if Dools was considering was pushing Aero forward a little to play defensive midfield.  I’m sure he played there before for Ayr against us.

Welcome back, Willjag - it's been a while.

It's good to see you here again.

What's the story behind that name?

The story I heard about Dunfermline being called the Pars goes back to either the first war, or between the wars, and supposedly comes from the government moving a lot of shipbuilders from the Plymouth area to work in Rosyth Dockyard.

This led to the creation of the Plymouth Argyll Rosyth Supporters club or PARS.

Probably a load of old rubbish, mind you.....

  3. Morton had a steward outside the turnstiles holding up a board with a large QR code on it which you could scan to make an online ticket purchase.

To my mind she would have been better employed running a cash turnstile.

and while I am at it.....

£22 is a ridiculous price for an uncovered terracing behind the goal.

    Ripoff merchants!

  4. I though we saw yesterday the perfect fruition of the Premier League / Neil Doncaster design of the play-off process.

It is deliberately set up to give the "big team" the maximum chance of staying up by making the wee team play themselves to a standstill before they get a crack at the top division.

County took full advantage of our inability to raise the same herculean effort for the sixth game in a row and Thistle were just unable to drag themselves over the line after the longest season in our history.

Also, by playing both ties under VAR, they allowed the opportunity for the faceless TV referees to have a wee  word in the match official's shell-like if it looked like the Big Team was in any danger.

Congratulations to Doncaster and Co - their Cunning Plan worked exactly as they intended, and congratulations to County on earning themselves another season in a league they cannot possibly win, and another season of losing more games than they win.
