  1. whats the story on the main stand,? will we ever see it up and running again, like the old days. its such a sad sight when you look over at it on a match day.
  2. good. i hope they remember it. mon the jags.
  3. its a polish miner, well known news clip/interview some years back, this guy was at the back, blind drunk and all over the place.lol. he's mates were all looking at him until he fell down, brill.
  4. are you serious, the two things have NOTHING to do with each other, i was only asking if the board have given any promises about the north stand. if we are playing celtic, will the board only see pound signs and lick there lips at 10,000 plus away fans and all that money, thats all the thread is about., no axes, no ballgirls, just a wee question about the stand,
  5. i agree with you, but do you think the board will. if celtic come calling will the board see cash signs in there eyes . theres bound to be the temptation as celtic will / can bring 10,000 plus, thats a lot of money. thats all i was asking.
  6. some swear words!! try 45 mins non stop. she even turned around a couple of times herself to see who was shouting the muck. as for junkie, well i take that back, he just looks like how lot of my friends have done over the years who liked a draw now and again.lol nothing wrong with that i should point out, not at all.
  7. I absolutely despair at times, there is a kids zone to keep the kids nice and safe, there's the shed (Over 16's) to keep the riff raff away from the JHS & the kids, now we want to keep the ballboys/girls away from bad words, have you ever paid any attention to the big bad world outside our fastly becoming sanitized ground?? The players swear and shout at each other, people on the street, the telly, the buses (maybe keep them away from the buses lots of low life on that Public transport), in every walk of life. Ok lets ban all swearing, what next...... shouting incase it upsets someone, maybe singing may disturb someone lets cut that out too, oh and clapping way too noisy, and people that have a smoke or a drink before they come smell like pubs can't have that. in fact everyone sit 5 seats apart on their hands to keep everything aceptable. Total overkill and over sanitizing the game is killing it!!!!!!!!! whats any of this got to do with the wee girl being put behind the goal at that end, i was just asking the wisdom of whoever is in charge of the ball boys/girl. dont forget, the young girl could not just get up and go to another part of the ground. 2/3 times she herself turned around to see who was shouting the stuff. 45 mins of non stop abuse of the keeper, i was getting fed up with it myself. and im not a west end anything. im a shipyard/construction worker, but im there to watch my team, not to be distracted by drunks, thats all.
  8. So is entry to the North Stand now on looks alone? The way it's shaping up only Mods and other fashionable types will be allowed entry. Some may even approve... my son for one I'm not condoning the use of foul and abusive language when minors are about, but was there any need for that outburst? The guys in question - if it's who I think you're referring to - were standing to the left of our usual spot and were loud but I didn't hear anything that was that bad. On a more serious note, some folk have been banned from this forum for making allegedly hurtful posts. Maybe the guy in question was just recovering after a hard night at his favourite jazz club. Least he was there and paid his money... least he was there and payed his money. well thats ok then. sorry. as for fashion, does not matter if your wareing a three piece suit, or hand me downs, if your a potty mouth fan then thats what you are,
  9. Interesting "jagielka" that you felt the need to start 2 separate threads concerning the north stand within 10 minutes. Also, personal abuse to fellow jags fans - good for you, real class. For what it's worth, those 2 guys are lifelong jags fans who simply enjoy themselves at the match - harming no one. whats so interesting about starting the two threads at the same time? they are seperate issues about the same area, thats all there is to it. as for you saying HARMING no one, foul language is not harming anyone!!! i must have missed that memo when it came out.
  10. when we win the league and go into the top div. how long before the board let the fans know they need to get back out the north stand to let the visiting crown in. theres no way they can afford to miss out on the money, at least they might be able to get better turnstiles in place at that end, there still using the same ones i tried to climb over back in the mid 60's.lol had to go round the back and over the wall at the canal (with a wee lift up that is), when all else failed.
  11. did anyone else notice the wee ballgirl sitting behind the goal at the north stand. who is in charge of the ballboys/girl. for the whole game that wee girl had to listen to all the puke and vile coming out of some(fans) mouths directed to the dumbarton keeper and the few fans that they had?? especially standing down near the front of the stand, even one of the stewards had to say something to him. whoever is in charge need to give this some thought next time, put her along the old main stand out of harms way.
  12. [ Was there any sign of adults accompanying these minors to your knowledge, Ian? there was no adults with them, i watched what happened, the kids jumped up from the seats into the stairs and were giving the away fans some verbal and hand signs. some one complained to a steward who then got the police, the cops had to respond as there had been a complaint made. but it was defused without anyone taking it all to far.
  13. well done lads, another result nearer the title, but what has happened to the football that was being played for so much of the season. 3-0 looks good on paper, but the performance was shocking. the fullbacks need to learn to cross the ball, only twice today did either player get it into the box, far too much messing around when in a good position near the bye line. but it must be said, the worst player, by a long way was Forbes. what a shocker he had. archie should have put him out his misery at half time. but it was noticed that the last two goals came about when the boys remembered to keep it on the deck and pass it through the defence. for too long it was hit long(and in hope) when it simple pass was on. but well done again lads i wont complain if you play the same way up to the last game and get the same results all the way to the title. mon the jags.
  14. Well done lads. at least this time you got the 3 points with out playing anything special. always nice if you can do it. Hamilton were not up to much mind and a second goal would have been nice for the fans, to stop us bitting our nails. you will be glad to hear im not going to slag Sinclair tonight, did ok, but like ive said he can do that only when the team are in total control like tonights game. no my player for some abuse this time is Paton. every pass more than 5 yards long you just new he was going to muck it up. give him his due, he kept at it.lol. but he is not BECK'S and someone needs to tell him , keep it simples Paul, simples ok. And please Erskine do some practise with your right leg, what a player you could be if you would only do something with it. Your not Davie Cooper, who could get away with only using his left peg. but you could get close if you worked that other boot now and again. Anyways well done lads. see everyone i can say some nice things. ps, is it only me or is Craig the most immobile center forward around. against Morton he looked like he had eated a 5 course lunch before the game and not to much livlier tonight, just a thought.
  15. i slagged 4 players. young Aaron has not been excellent, his lack of skill shows up when the team are not playing so well, putting your head down and trying to dribble your way out of your own penalty box is not excellent, its stupid. we were2-0 again loosing a lead and again a red card, am i supposed to be happy about it, my views on the 4 players in question is my opinion based on playing and watching football for 47 years of the game, i first (climed)into firhill in 1965 when i was 7, i might not have played for the senior team, and only get to junior level but i do know one or two things about the game.
  16. the boys worked hard today but lack of skill and composure was hard to take. not for the first time this season i have had to shake my head at the performance of our fullbacks, SINCLAIR had a nightmare again, you could count on one hand the number of good games hes had, and everytime it was when we were winning the game with ease. WELSH was only slightly better, but it is a major concern that these area's of the team have not been looked at. MURREY, well best not say too much about his performance, if he passed the ball out right at any time in the game i must have blinked and missed it. FOX, well we can only hope one day he lifts his head up when he gets the ball in his hands, how mant times did he have the chance to get the ball out wide and quick and failed every time because he has not the craft to even look up field. what else. i know the free kicks, what a waist. how can these players not put the ball into the box from a dead ball on the edge of the bloody box, unbelivable. after they scored there first, at the kick off, there keeper was on the penalty spot and not one player lifted there head to see the chance. when i played the game, it was the first thing i looked at when the game was being restarted, i used to practise getting the ball flicked up to let me volley it over the keeper. school boy stuff. only bright spots from the game the central defenders had a good game i thought, and as for BANNIGAN sorry for all the negative things i have said on this forum.
  17. thankfully the red card did not cost us all 3 points. but his overall display was not good it has to be said. murrey seems to be blind in his right eye, not once in the game did he pass the ball out to the right, he seemed content to play safe and go back the way or give it out left to sinclair who along with welsh had a nightmare by the way. time for a wee rest for all of them.
  18. this photo was way.way before the early 70,s as the original (question) asked. so sorry but not proof as u said.arnott's in 70's took up whole block except on the corner plot , that was beeverbrooks.
  19. well done boys, back to winning ways at last. you owed the fans this win mind. going forward we always have a chance but the defence has been a problem for several games, if that can get sorted out we can/will get the championship. lets just hope that awful second half against the web feet mob does not hurt us in the end. come on the jags!!!!
  20. TWINNY., you have never noticed a manager during a match. really! you have never seen fergie, o'neil, lennon, ect. as for our jackie, yes i have watched him many , many times during a game, as for G SUS. i never said, shout abuse, dont put words in my mouth,, the fifers have dropped points as well. well that proves my point about us throwing it away, we should have beaten morton easy. it could/ should have been 5-1 at half time, missed opportunity, again. as for suspensions and injurys, do you mean red cards, more evidence of lack of leadership and lack of player control, or would you rather just blame the ref's. " its our final ball" yes exactly. proves my point again. final ball, no control, with a lack of skill thrown in,its one thing to follow your team its another to do so wearing blinkers, i first went to see the jags when i was 7 , that was 47 years ago, i've seen all the players good and bad, i was a ball boy, i even had a trial for them, i use to climb over the wall at the north end into the ground, putting an old bit of carpet over the broken glass that was in the concrete on the top of the wall, anything to get the chance to run onto the pitch,, i see the game and the players/manager as i see, i dont compare them to any others i've seen there. i judge them as thay are, and if your scared of a few home truths, its your problem. i dont have it.
  21. what is going on with the team. how can a group of players go unbeaten for so long, lose there way like this, unforgivable.i dont want jackie standing on the side lines with his arms folded, i want him to act like martin o'neil, jumping around to show the players his anger at there performance.. after all the dropped points in the last half dozen games you would think they would have learned something about the way they play. but no. no control. no composure. no indication of improvment. so. whats going on jackie.the title is being thrown away. we should be out of site of the dirty fifers and the web feet mob. styarting to lose my confidence in the players and the manager.
  22. hello admin. just recently joined and looking forward to having fun with the rest of the harry raggs on here.
  23. yet another red card. every dropped point this season has a red card attached to it. what is jackie doing about it? has he said anything? nope, not that i can tell. the 5-1 thrashing of the dirty fifers seems to have got to the players heads. they think they must/ will beat everyone they play with ease ever since. attack at every opportunity has been the motto since that game, and its cost them dearly. wwe should be at least 7/8 point clear with 2 games in hand. the champers in the bucket ready for the party, but no. slack play and poor judgement in going for needless tackles has put the bottle on luke warm water instead of ice. come on jackie put our minds at ease. tell us you will sort it out.
  24. in the mid 70's Boots, was on north east corner, Burtons on north west, Beaverbrooks was south east. some people have said Arnotts but thats incorrect, Arnotts was the next corner heading east on Argle st. at st Enoch underground. cant get the one south west sorry, i should know it, i spent many a time at dizzy corner on a fri/sat waiting for my (lumber 4 the night) to turn up, they always did.lol
  25. yes Jackie is doing a good job but questions must be asked about the failings of the players over the last several games. we are lucky that the shifty fifers and the dirty web feet mob have both dropped points in the last couple of weeks or all the good work from the start of the season would have been for nothing. a quick look at the table and the two draws against teams we should never be having trouble with this season and that terrible home defeat last week, tells you that 7 point dropped in the last few games could/will be very costly come the spring. so the question is, is the manager getting the players on the park with the right attitude, do they think that its ok to miss chances because they will be lots more to come, they do seem to be very slack in and around the box. as for the home defeat, i wonder about Jackie's tacktics. playing erskine in what seemed to be inside right position was a mistake. every time he got the ball he just move inside to the middle making it very crowded in/around the center of the box, yes it left big spaces on the wing, but thats only good if your fullback has the confidence to run into the space, ours did not, and thats down to the manager failing to give him the instructions and confidence to do so. if the fullback knows someone is covering his position when he is making a move deep into enemy territory he will be more affective, aaron is not doing so. in fact both fullbacks had a poor game, but at least they were better than the two subs that jackie put on. big and bad mistake that was, the team were weakened by some way after that .lawless was having a busy game, but always seams to be the one hooked. pity. and who was the blind one who gave bannigan the man of the match. WHAT!!! he had a nightmare. a couple of wee passes late in second half, thats it, two left feet and suffering from headless chicken syndrome for the rest of the time. anyways, had to get this off mt chest. come on the jags.
