  1. let archie decide on the same team , don't start messing about after a great show ....ther'll be plenty of time for making changes when the injuries and suspensions start to take affect....if it aint broke don't fix it.
  2. Just a thought....what about Higgy taking over Ossie' place............seems to me he can also run about like a Doo withoot a Heid!
  3. I wholeheartedly agree with KoSPwhen he says What I find most annoying is our managements naievity,Do they think we are still playing first divison teams? For too long weve been getting told about what great football we were playing but not that otherteams w ere able to suss us out so easily! Why have none of the youngste rs on the bench not given a run even for the last 15 mins in one of the many games when we were down and out a nd had o chance of winnng
  4. Forget about last night ,....I fear there could possibly be worse to come in our next match against the ex league leaders who will be hurting like hell after they're going over by St johnstone....then again we've had better results away from firhill sadly.. who knows!Anyway I'm in the camp that says keep the faith with the boys we've got ...it would be suicidal to make some of the changes suggested on this forum. But I do think that possibly even just one player starting to hit the target would lift the boys Stick with the players stick with the system, but continue to give it all youve got,
  5. any tv links showing jags v hibs
  6. Brought up in bonawe st. ..taken to firhill when very young if my dad was working and couldn't go i would just hang around at the turnstiles and plead '' gonnae lift me over mister''...no problem! what crowds we used to get in those days remember getting nearly crushed to death on the way out of firhill up against the old tote payout windows heading to the exit.Dad was in the navy during the war but remember him telling me that when McKennan and McSpadyen got back to the team post war then we would have some team then ....but tho' they returned i think the spark they once had was gone and I was busy trying to re-educate him onthe great players we had playing at that time ,He still dreamt about his pre war heroes and said it wasn't the same and gradually gave up.. How many of you can remember Andy Kerr?.....wouldnt he be the boy to finish off all these chances that are going a begging every week .Nil desperandum..
  7. Agree entirely with peagreen's thoughts....keep reading about other teams catching on to jags style and taking necessary steps to achieve the victory ...Archie was saying that they dont have anyone in a scouting capacity employed anymore ...think it's about time that changed ....there must be someone at firhill capable of filling that vacancy while running their eye over future oppositions style of play to give Archie an advanced warning of what to expect and to prepare accordingly!!!
  8. Born in the rottenrow hospital .....rared in bonawe st .....a certain fellow street urchin was a younger Robert Winter whom you may have heard of!...lived in the close opposite to me!Think he went to Allen Glen's.... studious guy even then.
  9. RE-Drew /crieff ....I have a similar back ground as Jags Fan....was born and bred in Bonawe St almost at Queens Cross, rehoused in pollok but been here in Comrie since 2000.My father used to sit me on the firhill wall until he had to leave to get back to his work after half time as he was a chef in the whitehall restaurant...I was allowed up late on a saturday night to give him a report on the action in the second half which he had missed !I have a son who lives in Crieff and he has 2sons who are jags fans ....well one of them is for sure.
  10. Without any doubt players respond to encouragement....as a jags supporter for over 60 years I can remember the rangers support being like a twefth man when against us at firhill especially when waddell picked up the ball about halfwayand tore down the right wing the swell of noise reached a crescendo as he crossed the ball and you just knew the outcome as it reached thornton's head.. goal!!! in my mind when a player has the ball at his feet and the crowd roar him on he will pull out all the stops to beat that defender that is in his way.....kEEP ON SINGING ! KEEP ON ROARING, JAGS FANS!... you,ll never know but maybe that extra bit of support helped that ball to hit the net and saved us from relegation or WON THE LEAGUE!!!!
  11. What about trying this to give us an early goal and settle us into our rythym....Ive been impressed by Higgie's strength on the ball when he is hustled by opposing defenders, he seems to be able to brush them aside and create openings for himself in tight spaces, just what we need inside the box!Idont know if his sharpness is due to his english pre season training or not but right now he looks sharper than Dools .I have every faith that Dools will eventually start hitting the net but right now I think playing Higgie as the main hitman even just for the first half then Dools in the 2nd half may be worth a try!
  12. Well that is the point of the forum......got you all talkin didn't it!!!
  13. Wow ,what happened to us in the second half....which sould have been wrapped up by then.they just lost their discipline ....no passing movement and I hate to think what's going to happen when that defence meets the big guns....so disappointing!
  14. Cant agree more re Army training....disappointed it hasn't been arranged this close season...or has it!
