  1. Heard a couple of rumblings that the money he will receive in insurance payments for retiring through injury would be pretty substantial so he may be open to taking on a coaching role at a lower level to cut his teeth. Wouldn't be a player/coach role as that would mean his insurance wouldn't pay out. Could be pish though!
  2. One of the funniest was after that one you mentioned when the female assistant referee flagged an Accies player for offside when it looked like he might be getting in on goal and the boy in front of me hit out with; "Ponytails are now acceptable, ponytails are now acceptable!" I echo the opinions of others that the "we score when we want!" chant is excellent, especially after Doolan's goal in the Ramsdens Cup Final, unbelievable!
  3. That's how I feel. There are boys in that squad with no deal for next season that will be bursting for game time to show why they should be offered one. Why should they be denied a place for someone that has decided they no longer want to be part of the team or squad.
  4. It's strange as in the actual reports they can get it right, but in the summary below it it's always wrong. They always blame the press association anyway,
  5. I was sure O'Donnell was tied up until the end of next season, hopefully just shoddy journalism from the DR. I've said on another thread that i heard from a good source Forbes had been offered, or was about to be offered a new deal that he was really keen to sign. Doolan has been making all the right noises about staying so it really comes down to Paton and Erskine. Hopefully we can win it tonight and allow Archie to offer Paton and Erskine the best possible deal we can, and guarantee them SPL football for a year at least.
  6. Think you'd need a 6/8 split to avoid teams having a week off. Would be a nightmare going into the last day of the season and you're not playing but could be relegated.
  7. That set up is pretty decent and the only decent thing Charles Green has suggested since he slipped on the ibrox suit.
  8. He's got some red neck. He conspired with Celtic to ensure the 11-1 voting structure remained in place when it was challenged earlier in the season. He's only got himself to blame for the vote not going through.
  9. Would be very surprised at this. They'll present the trophy at the Dunfermline game (assuming we've won it by then). There's no way they'll do it at Dumbarton considering how small the ground is and the problems it could cause.
  10. Would like to go to Dingwall and Aberdeen next year as well as trying to get to St Mirren. Been to Parkhead once but that was ony because i lived round the corner from it at the time, not really interested in going back. Maybe Killie if only for the pies!
  11. Left early at THAT Gretna game, 3 down and Deuchar runs clear and hits the post so I left to get home to watch the Scotland game. Vowed never again to leave a game early, especially when there's only a goal in it. The Hibs game is a perfect example of why you shouldn't do it!
  12. Very clumsy from Dowie. Could have easily given away a pen and been sent off
  13. I work with a guy that's friends with Forbes and he was saying that Forbes is some way down the road to agreeing a new deal
  14. I'd agrue that Forbes and to a lesser extent Doolan should be the most fresh players in the squad as they've not played anywhere near as many minutes as the rest of them in the last few weeks.
  15. I think he'll go with the same team to be honest. They'll all be on a high after Wednesday and they deserve the chance to go out and get another 3 points on the board. Realistically the only changes he would probably make would be to bring Lawless and/or Craig in.
  16. As with most games this season against "stuffy" teams, if we get an early goal then we should be fine. Taking nothing for granted though, the first game aside we've struggled against Airdrie this season. Think he'll almost definitely go with the same team as Wednesday with only maybe Lawless coming in if Erskine is tired.
  17. Dunfermline officially placed in Admin today, just been announced on Sportsound Twitter feed. Assuming this will allow them to see out the next 3-4 weeks at the very least.
  18. That's a fair point, but it's a shame that a scheme like this could be scuppered before it even gets off the ground. Not that many will complain due to the reason!
  19. £60 a season for highlights and live commentary, or £1.67 per game based on a 36 game season? Don't think that's too bad to be honest. What I would say is that we should be approaching Livingston and asking them what recording equipment they use as their pictures are of a much higher standard than ours. Don't mind so much at the moment but if we're being asked to fork out for it then it's not unreasonable to ask for a better, clearer picture. The only downside is that if we're in the SPL then highlights will be readily available to fans that reside in the UK and there will be radio commentary of almost all of our games.
  20. We defended so well. They had a lot of pressure in that second half without actually creating any chances or forcing Foxy into a save but that's a testament to the defence as a whole and how they marshalled Morton. Thought the ref was atrocious. Hardie should have been booked early which would have resulted in him having a big decision to make for the "tackle" he eventually got booked for. Sinclair's yellow was for a challenge nowhere near as bad as Hardie's early challenge. What a crowd, what a performance (defensively wise) and what a night. Lets finish this now, starting by relegating Airdrie on Sat
  21. I suspect he's referring to the precedent of one club being able to take over the registration of another therefore consigning the original club to the bin.
  22. His exact quote on Paton is; "Hugh Murray and Paul Paton, and we could maybe have done with their experience on Sunday, are still out. Paul was back running on Monday and he stepped that up today as well and did some turning. I wouldn’t read too much into that though. I said when Paul first picked up his injury that he could be out for 3 days or 3 weeks; you just didn’t know with that type of knock. To be honest things aren’t any clearer now" Think it's safe to say he's not available tonight, and probably not at the weekend either.
