  1. A lot better than getting beaten 4-1 anyway. I think the Hearts game and last nights match shows we're not far away, lost count how many times we've said that and seem to go backwards again. But honestly, better finishing and I actually think 6 point from the last two is not ridiculous to suggest.
  2. Can't recall the last time I wanted a game to be postponed, but very much hoping so. I know County fans that aren't keen for this match to go ahead either. I don't know if the forecast in Dingwall is actually that bad for it to be postponed.
  3. See if we had one more fairly decent centre back to allow Barton to move into midfield and someone with better finishing, I don't think we would have any problems finishing teams off for the rest of the season. Liam Lindsay our top scorer this season then? A defender, come on man. Shows what we are lacking up front.
  4. Can only concur with those saying we should have won. They've been doing this all season though, incredibly lucky to only have lost once at home after Saturday. Azeez is one of the most frustrating strikers I think i've ever watched, strength and pace in abundance, but can't finish his dinner. We definitely lacked creativity in the first half, think Erskine is due a starting place now, made a huge difference when he came on. Can only assume the linesman is an Accies fan or wanted the game to end 1-1 as that was simply not offside.
  5. Trying to do a Hoffenheim style appointment... Except Cathro is less proven. I think that's a huge gamble.
  6. Great work, hoping for more positive stats after the next few games
  7. Hopefully Elliott and Amoo will be offered something. Not seen anything of Syme but a lot of people say he shows promise so perhaps? Fraser if he can stay injury free.
  8. Never said all of them. Also didn't mention anything about managerial abilities. My only point was McNamara cannot take sole credit as one person in particular believes. I mean... McCall even signed McNamara and I doubt he would have been our manager had it not been for that act, so technically you can credit McCall for architecture of where we are today. Did McCall not also bring, Paton, Cairney and Harkins to us? All going on to sign for bigger clubs. Obviously only Paton was around at the time though. Not in any way trying to discredit Archie, I think a lot of his signings have been spot on and the team he has built with the budget he has is probably one of the strongest Thistle sides we have had.
  9. Except that McCall brought in the best players we had.
  10. This is not going to be an easy game at all. I think Accies have only lost once at home this season so while winning is a must I have strong doubts we will. Having said that, Dundee were bottom when they beat them so here's hoping since we are bottom... I think as usual Crawford will be the player to look out for, if we can keep him quiet for the game, that would be decent.
  11. Looking like talks will go ahead with Neilson and MK Dons, agree with above, I think a younger manager as well. The good news though, we are due to play them soon and this could unsettle their team before we do.
  12. I've always preferred shooting towards the north stand in the second half. I'm not even sure why though.
  13. Decent draw, never seen us play Annan so looking forward to this!
  14. Would take anything in SFL1 or 2 home or away just for a change! Fully expecting a team in our league though. It's being streamed on the Scottish cup facebook page apparently, if anyone is interested in watching.
  15. Ah ok, my bad, thanks for spotting that. I'll edit my post.
  16. That's very interesting actually, i'm thinking that the explanation is. We are already losing and chasing the game. The St Johnstone game is the one that is the exception. Could it be home pressure from fans? Standing in the north stand you can feel it, it's very nerve wracking. I had a look back at games we've lost late goals, mostly out of curiosity and perhaps Mondays aren't bad enough I thought i'd depress myself even more? Hearts 1pt dropped 90+ minute goal Motherwell 2pts dropped 83 minute goal Hamilton 2pts dropped 83 minute goal Ross County 2pts dropped 95 minute goal Rangers 3pts dropped 81 and 94 minutes goals Cutting out even half of these and we are actually top six comfortably, if you can be comfortable in this league. I haven't looked at any other teams and i'm well aware this is a fairly nonsense statement like (if we had won this then we'd be here etc...) but it interested me and felt like sharing. Very fine margins just now, something as simple as closing out even half our games in future would mean we should have nothing to worry about.
  17. It's not even good patter, it's pretty awful actually. It's like, their dads patter from 20 years ago recycled, absolutely boggin. Not even worth reading for a laugh. I'm hoping since Dundee nearly held out for a draw we will be slightly better than last time, but you never know with us this season.
  18. "Are we human or are we Saltcoats?" Definitely not human anyway, judging by that video some of them only recently learned to walk upright.
  19. Wasn't at the game, thankfully. But based on the comments I gather that, we were sh!te, Dallas is a big Motherwell fan and Scott McDonald is a wee dick. Does anyone know what the appropriate method of complaining about a referee is? I see Mourinho and various other PL managers are fined week in week out for commenting on the referee so that's maybe not the best way. I do think it's time Archie actually said something, I've not seen one game all season where the referee has put in a solid/balanced performance.
  20. Clocked this on twitter, sure I replied actually. Michael Stewart's reaction says it all. Every time I hear him post match I dislike him more. Also as people have said, Tommy Wright, absolute walloper. Can't stand the guy, his team or his tactics. The win against them this year has been the highlight of my season so far.
  21. We didn't take our chances, they did and on the balance I think they played better for more of the match. Sums it up for me. It was a fairly close game and had we taken our chances in the first half before they scored i'd have fancied us to win. I have been highly critical of our corner taking ability (aside from Penrice) but on Friday I could see an improvement from Welsh as far as corners go. As for free kicks... Pls stop. It's been said and perhaps evident in some games that Barton can hit them, so perhaps he will get a chance. His passing suggests his accuracy is better than Welsh's so if he can do that with a bit of power and aimed at goal, we may well pose more of a threat at free kicks. Not sure if this is this has been mentioned in another thread, but did anyone see the interview with McInnes after the match? I thought it was very unprofessional and not for the first time his comments after a game against us (win, lose or draw) seemed inappropriate or inaccurate. It's like he has something against us, perhaps i'm reading too much into it and he's always a bellend post match.
  22. I'm guessing he's training and trial basis due to us only really having Doolan and Azeez as forwards. But, don't fancy an injury prone striker with an unproven record on the books that much if i'm honest. Rather look for something a little better in January.
  23. I think Ms. Barnett mentioned recently we seem to mirror the first team, so perhaps this is why the change of shape and perhaps why we didn't as well as we have been doing? Keen to know who the trialist was as well.

The board may disagree with that Figures look great, be good to know how they compare to the other clubs in our league, but i'm not that interested that i'll pay to find out.
  25. On one hand the form of Aberdeen could have dipped and we have an even better chance of beating them and on the other it's two defeats and they will be very eager for a win on Friday. I think Aberdeen have been unlucky the last couple of games so this will be a big test. Our Friday night games seem to have been pretty decent since the days of St Mirren being an absolute bogey team for us. So very much looking forward to this one, even though we seem to be losing out regarding attendances. I wasn't at the last two games, but wouldn't mind the same team again.
