  1. Still feeling on top of the world after that result, didn't make the game on Saturday but wouldn't be surprised if the cheers from my house were heard in Perth on Saturday Absolutely love a last minute winner. I was looking at the result and league table every couple of hours on Saturday and just smiling at it.
  2. It's ok everyone we're saved, Brown is coming back... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37796525
  3. Excellent news! Believe the best is yet to come with Liam
  4. Same team sounds good to me, provided it would work against St. Johnstones tactics. Having Erskine and Amoo as subs is delightful if things aren't working out. I don't feel St. Johnstone are anything special, like to keep things tight, don't seem to score that many or concede many either. If we could get the first goal I think it would really upset the way they like to play.
  5. Actually pretty quick, so if that is the case 6 weeks and he could be playing again. Glad to hear Osman is only a dead leg! Bad news about Scully, wish him a speedy recovery. We'll be looking for more goalie cover again...
  6. Thought a thread on it's own might be helpful, seeing as the injury list is getting ridiculous! May save people trawling through various threads to find out anything. Cerny - Is it foot problems again? Heard someone say potentially January before he is back. Dumbuya - Achilles tendon, had surgery in June I believe and was estimated about 6 months. Haven't heard any updates since. Scully - Shoulder dislocated? Anyone heard any news on him, if it is as suspected then it could be months before he returns. Osman - Not quite sure what the injury is, hoping just a knock, anyone know? Bannigan - Knee ligament, given surgery only happened in August expecting he might not be back until the very end of the season. Lawless - Not sure what the issue is but heard last week he was estimated to be out for 6 weeks? Fraser - Not sure what the injury is, anyone know anything?
  7. Nice post, great to hear from a fan down south that also has a soft spot for the Jags I thought Adam looked decent in midfield, it's clear he is very composed on the ball, in defence he looks just as good if not better. I think his influence in defence will be excellent for Liam and seems to be helping Devine as well. If this continues against teams further up the league then I can see us turning around this shaky start very quickly.
  8. Not a bad idea at all. I'm sure i've seen the Scotland team score a couple of rehearsed belters from corner kicks. In all honesty i'd just settle for a decent ball in or since we struggle so much to do this playing it short and changing the angle or type of ball into the box.
  9. Was a smashing header wasn't it! He always causes a defence so much trouble, he almost looks too good for this league at times, with the exception of his finishing. Doolan's ball through for him was sublime, I thought he could have just ran it round the keeper with his pace! Fantastic to get a win, hugely important to do so against Dundee given the league positions. St Johnstone are the best of the rest right now, I actually think they are very fortunate to be where they are in the league and aren't that much of a threat.
  10. I think Dundee have won 10 and drawn 4 against us. Awful record, but they are missing a few players that have caused us problems in the past so I feel a bit more hopeful. I don't think a win is on the cards and a draw being more likely.
  11. Excellent, cheers mate, spot on what I was interested to hear. Aye they certainly can finish teams off... Perhaps the inclusion of some of these players in the first team can't be far off.
  12. Nisbet's goal scoring for the Dev league has been hugely impressive, I never really watch the Dev games though, does anyone get to many of them and the style of play a lot different to the first teams? Basically interested to know if the goals he gets for them can be easily transferred to the first team.
  13. See to be honest, would anyone really be complaining if we hadn't lost the late goals in 3 out of 4 of our last games? Like actually be honest with yourself. Small margins lads and ladies. The late goals either seem to be confidence or fitness, I think a two goal lead in any of these games and we wouldn't have even been troubled near the end. One goal lead... Bumhole of the team falls apart. Without conceding these late goals we're top six right now. It's easy to blame one or two individuals for the goal and perhaps quite rightly so, but as a team, at the end of the game we were really struggling to hold the ball and at that point you just knew the equaliser was coming. I think given how things were going a couple of big rugby style boot of the ball out the park in there half, press them higher up, foul them, hold the ball up, frustrate them, anger them etc... This didn't seem to happen, we just seemed to kinda keep it in play and make it easier for them to put us under pressure by backing off. Corners though, we need to sort this, it's embarrassing now. It's been seasons we've had this issue of not beating the first man or floating it to the back. Seriously, do we not practice corners? We've had big defenders last season and we've got Liam as a target man now and still the set piece taking is diabolical. It's honestly my biggest complaint, we waste so many chances. I have a feeling Penrice played at the end of last season and his first game we scored from a corner. Penrice should take corner kick training, teenage kid can hit them better than anyone else in the team!
  14. I think they are all big games / must wins until we climb the league a bit. I don't think the main cause for concern right now is goalkeeping. Mostly i'm concerned with the back four and in particular Devine, as i'm guessing a lot of Accies play in our half is going to be centered around him if they have done their homework. I'm hoping Gordon can prove more valuable in this game in both wanting to beat his old side and the inside knowledge. Would like to see Elliott and Barton feature in this game. Not in the country for this one so going to give the streaming a go.
  15. I think Strachan got that one wrong in terms of tactics and lineup so a draw actually seems like getting out of jail. We didn't turn up until the last 10 minutes, if we played even a half like that I strongly believe we would have all 3 points. I was also quite surprised at the amount of Lithuanian players suffering cramp in the second half, I thought professional footballers would have been in better shape... In typical Scottish style we'll probably beat Slovakia away now, but fully expect to finish third overall knowing that had we beat Lithuania we would have qualified. This campaigns Georgia.
  16. Have two tickets for Jamie Lawson this Saturday if anyone is interested. Face value £18 a ticket.
  17. Is number 9 for Ross County apparently! Didn't think he was either tbh. Don't think he was ever that great at Utd.
  18. In all honesty I think it's a bit early to panic. Yes there are some pretty obvious issues, good, it's so obvious we can see it, so i'm sure Archie is well aware of it and will sort it... At some point. Reckon our next three games will bring some much needed points, in all honesty I think 9 points is achievable and not unrealistic. I expect some people might have a laugh at that. I don't think Dundee are anywhere near as good as last season, lost important players and Hartley will be starting to feel the pressure. Hamilton were poor last season and doesn't seem like much has changed this season. Lastly County have just lost Boyce for quite a few games I reckon, that is a massive loss as he's been pretty much the only player on the scoresheet for them and even at that they have only managed the same amount of goals as us.
  19. Wasn't at the game but managed to somehow find a pub in Aberdeen showing it, somewhere selling alcohol was a good place to be rather than at the match! Really poor defending from Devine and I honestly can't see that being acceptable much longer before being dropped... Who for, I don't even know. Agree with the comments about us lacking fight and composure at certain points. Felt sorry for Edwards on Saturday, as he was the exception here. Was disappointed to see Elliott dropped and Barton not to feature at all. Two players I thought really deserved a place after the Motherwell game. Starting to miss the days of Frans and Seaborne at the back to be honest.
  20. Does anyone know if this game is on Sky Sports? Away this weekend but was hoping to watch it.
  21. What an absolute muppet. But great news I think, the more disruption and unrest in the England camp should be better for us.
  22. Was told smart casual. Seen people kicking about in trainers though, so doubt you would be kicked out. I feel a bit of effort should be made in hospitality so at the very least smart shoes seems reasonable.
  23. Good point. If we can get that right and our attacking options this a very winnable game. I recall in recent-ish cup games we gave the old team a decent game, so i'm very much hoping we are going for this.
  24. Haha yeah, I was trying to be sensible and civilised since it was the JHS, had Azeez taken his chances i'm sure we would have been told to shutup. He did actually, it's not easy to make me look like a normal human being in a picture and he managed it, which I thought was incredible. Actually makes me look like the birthday boy but it was one of the lads at the back
  25. Agree with the more sensible posts on this thread. But I thought we looked quite good, some people said Motherwell looked "off" I would be more inclined to say we didn't let them play. A lot of people saying Doolan would have taken the chances Azeez missed, true that may be, but i'm not sure Doolan would have got into those positions to score in the first place. From what I saw on Saturday the only thing Azeez lacked was putting the ball in the net, which if it continues this way is going to be a big problem for the season. But I think the goals will come, hopefully it's just a confidence thing. As for losing the late goal, substitutions played a part. I would have liked to have seen Lawless stay on, thought he was doing well and would have preferred another attacking player in place of Erskine. Welsh was too negative an option IMO and we've seen it happen before which is quite frustrating. Team mindset is another issue right now, if you are a team on the back of multiple wins the pressure is off and it's a lot easier to close out a game, we're the opposite right now. As for atmosphere me and a few NS regulars were in hospitality for birthday celebrations, so obviously when we return normal service will be resumed.
