  1. I can see why clubs in England are interested. He's just turned 16 and he has a real physival presence. Ticks a lot of boxes and with him, in relative terms, likely to be inexpensive he's absolutely worth a punt. Especially since recruiting from Europe has become much harder since Brexit. Hence why this dual ownership nonsense is creeping in.
  2. Would be nice to win today. Would be as nice to come through without any mishap ahead of the Final next week. Heavy squad rotation this afternoon.
  3. I've seen Loney a few times, and hopefully again tonight when the 18s play Ayr. He's definitely got a chance. There's a real physicality about him, not unlike Diack actually.
  4. Could we have that second £500k tranche for PTWFC please?
  5. No reason why it can' bet. We're just a point behind both Hearts and Hibs. 4th/5th/6th will likely be decided by the six post split fixtures directly involving us, Hearts and Hibs. Anything anyone gets against the top three will be a bonus, and I wouldn't rule that out either. Rangers have dropped points to both us and Hearts already.
  6. Not a "core" element of Partick Thistle Football Club, this team epitomise everything you would want from a Thistle team. Pride, passion, guts and no little talent. They exhibit the values of Partick Thistle right to very core of them. An outstanding performance today, and with it our first point against one of the 'Big Three*', another significant landmark. A slight change in shape and they defended quite magnificently limiting Rangers to a mere handful of clear cut chances. I've not seen the disallowed goal back yet, but it looked a legitimate goal to me at the time and messages from people who saw it on TV would seem to confirm my real time impressions. If you are thinking of going to the Cup Final stop thinking about it and just get your ticket. I can't guarantee a Thistle win but I can guarantee that we have a realistic chance of doing just that. A big, noisy Thistle support would make a huge difference. The girls and coaching staff deserve that. *The Big Three were a 60s band. Cavern regulars alongside peers The Beatles.
  7. Just like Hibs in the SWPL Cup, a tough but winnable tie. We've not had much luck against Hearts this season, but were well in the game at Peasy until a hugely contentious decision to rule out a Thistle goal that would have made it 2-2 was quickly followed by a red card for our captain. Hearts will be favourites I suspect but they will definitely have preferred that tie at home rather than at Peasy. At least in March the rain should be marginally warmer. Just 90 minutes away from a Hampden semi where the dream is the winners of Livi v Spartans lie in wait.
  8. That's Emma Craig who is an ex Thistle player. Had a hard time with injuries in her last season with us, including a very nasty concussion.
  9. Top six, post split, is very demanding on part-time sides. You are essentially playing midweek/Sunday for the last months of the season. We ran both Celtic and Glasgow City very, very close post split last season, but it was a struggle at times with a small squad. There's real strength in depth this time - three top notch signings coming in during January - not just in numbers but in quality too. That's going to be needed. Yes, catching the two Edinburgh sides, or even splitting them, will be difficult but it can be done.
  10. Not, perhaps understandably, at our best today, but a second successive top six finish is no mean feat. Last year there was a real celebratory moment. Finishing top six was the achievement and was acknowledged accordingly. This time it's merely a staging post for what is to come. We want to try and push Hibs and Hearts for 4th and 5th. That top six isn't seen as the be-all see-all of our season is a sign of the increasing maturity of PTWFC as a club. Cup Final to come. Still in the Scottish Cup. It's an exciting time.
  11. Partick Thistle Football Club are not running at a loss as a result of any association with Partick Thistle WFC. Any suggestion otherwise is unhelpful. That's where my engagement on this discussion ends, but the above is worth baring in mind if you choose to continue to follow it. PTWFC kick off away to Montrose in 20 minutes. Looking forward to the private jet home.
  12. I, for one, don't know where I would be without these regular rays of sunshine illuminating the pages of this forum.
  13. This is a big issue for me. Interest in PTWFC has never been greater. There was 600 (less than 100 Hibs fans) at the game yesterday played during a weather warning. I reckon if no clash we would take a big, noisy, support to the Final enhancing a showcase event for the women's game in Scotland live on TV.
  14. Ten years to the day since Partick Thistle Women played their very first match. A friendly against what was then Glasgow Ladies and Girls, now Glasgow Women. Three 'halves' of 30 minutes at Whitehill Secondary. We were gubbed. Heavily. What a journey it's been over those 10 years. From recreational football to on the verge of securing a second successive top six finish in the top flight. On Sunday we have a chance of reaching a major Cup Final. Something no Thistle side has done in 53 years. Hibs stand in our way when we play at Petershill Park at 4:10pm on Sunday. Brian Graham has already outlined how important the backing of Thistle fans will be on Sunday. Please try and get along and support the girls on Sunday and help celebrate 10 years of Partick Thistle Women's football in style. Advance tickets available via the link below, and you can pay by cash or card on the day. It's going to be busy. It could be a really special day. Don't miss it. https://tickets.ptfc.co.uk/packages/LZEmOKzmpW/e/pXlGEM5G3V
  15. Just for the benefit of clarity in case the above post puts anyone off attending on the day, it's NOT all ticket on Sunday. It's anticipated to be busy though, so we are recommending that people buy tickets in advance to help prevent queing. You can still walk up on the day and pay by cash or card. Capacity at Petershill Park is circa 1,000, and Hibs have indicated that there is a bus load of Hibs fans coming. Hibs have one of the biggest, if not the biggest, travelling support in the SWPL. Hibs are a good side, but this is a great opportunity to reach a National Cup Final. I reckon it will be a close, exciting game, between two good sides. Petershill Park really lends itself to a good atmosphere and a big Thistle support would be a real boost to our aspirations of reaching a Final. I almost have to pinch myself sometimes when I consider how far we've come in a short time. 10th anniversary coming up later this year. If you are coming Sunday please but a ticket in advance, it helps in so many ways both on the day and in planning ahead of it, and come early and help build the atmosphere.
