Much better today thought tbh we should have won by 4 or 5 ….. of course we had to keep the goals against ratio up which was our fault for sitting back .., Graham was perfect today
Not many options to be sure but plenty of lessons …..
1 recruitment has been poor the idea that doolan knows a player ( presumably based on the fact he was one ) has been shown to be way off the mark…..a complete overhaul of this is required
2 the squad construction needs a rethink 4 goalkeepers , 8 midfielders is madness ….we have been short in central defence all season
3 coaching….who is doing the defensive coaching …..it’s simply dreadful
4 tactics…..we have been averaging 1.5 goals a game all season but doolan only changed personnel and formation in February
We lose an average of 1.7 goals each game , we can’t keep a clean sheet, we can defend cross balls and our goal keepers are all poor.
i have no idea what we do all week but whatever it is it isn’t working.
no win in eight says it all
The general trend of the team isn’t great…..we are struggling to win a game and far from challenging for promotion we are only 4 points above the fifth placed side ( cue….i always thought we would be mid table , I’m amazed we are not relegated by now )
its 9 games since we have won a match and our performances are very variable with defensive weaknesses continuing.
signs of improvement not that obvious
much better today though we sat back too deep in the second half …. Mitchell made a couple of good saves so that’s a positive !
I thought Williams was very good today and gives us the opportunity to rest Muirhead …..
sadly we gave away another error strewn goal but st least it was only one !
I can’t help feeling Fitzpatrick isn’t fully fit he seems to tire pretty quickly too often and had a poor second half .
stops the danger of a losing run and hopefully settles everyone down
DU lost in midweek and you can always see us scoring … stop them scoring would be unusual for us but you never know.
nothing to suggest Doolan will change much at least in terms of personnel
McCall was sacked before it was clear whether or if any target had been reached as it was in February ……your flogging a very dead horse here…..it would be madness to have such rigid policy and even if it applied to McCall ( which I doubt ) I would support ditching it asap.
the board should rightly assess doolans performance at the end of the season …if we make the playoffs I suspect he will be here next season, if we don’t make them then it’s more of a debate.
Thanks for that ….its a financial budgeting statement which is not the same as the manager will be sacked if we don’t finish third ( which would be daft anyway ) statement.
Our defensive options are very very limited … we have 7 in the squad but o’reilly is injured and clearly Williams and ngwenya are not rated….
poor recruitment and squad building are to blame but luckily no one is responsible for any of that
same back 4 on Saturday
