  1. Well last Jag standing is Rid Skwerr who finishes with 1 life. He is the winner of Shea Gordon's top. Congratulations to him and a big thank you to everybody who entered the competition.
  2. Great result. Sounded as if we were quite comfortable. Well done to the management , players and of course the fans.
  3. There is no doubt in my mind he will be our manager next season. Up to Christmas I wanted him out because of the bull he came out with and more importantly an average of 1/2 point per game. Since January we have averaged 1.65 points per game so a big improvement, we still get the bull but if he puts a winning team on the park I can put up with that. I think I have read he is on a 2 year rolling contract, so see how the next 6months or so pan out.
  4. Just heard the team bus has returned to Firhill. Caldwell had left some envelopes in his office and wasn't sure what team to play.
  5. Some more pictures. The first one is Mark from the Jags Disabled Supporters club and myself presenting Scott with the 'Robert Watson' trophy.
  6. This should be in an envelope.
  7. I asked Rid Skwerr and thistle4celtic1 to PM their prediction's for this week. thistle4celtic1 has predicted 1-1 Rid Skwerr has predicted 2-0 the Jags. Both have 1 life left.
  8. Is it not the managers job to motivate the players? Not that they should need much motivation for a game like Saturday's.
  9. Boys big game on Saturday. They need to be reminded that Saturday's game is a big one? And you can only pick players from our squad, so no fantasy football league type starting 11. This looks like something that might be sent in a Sunday league/ pub team.
  10. Gerry Britton on STV news tonight saying we have a good launch pad to go and do well next season. Highlighting we have improved since January. Lets hope he is right.
  11. I was never sure if we would get promoted, but never expected us to be in with a chance of being in the relegation play off either. Fact is his getting only 5 points in his first 10 games helped to put us in the position we now find ourselves. No matter how well we have done since January, or we are in the top 3 in form over the last 6 games etc. The only league table that is relevant will be the one about 4-55pm this Saturday. Lets hope we are above 9th.
  12. Graham and Stewart at Ross County would be good if they were deemed not good enough for the top league. I know they refused us last season, but with our new manager it might be different. Also depends what league we are in.
  13. My point is some on this forum want to make out he is a better manager than he seems to be so far. They will make out he saved us from relegation, whereas he was brought in with 26 games to play to get us promotion. If you don't get it fine.
  14. If we take that attitude we will at best end up playing Clyde, Forfar etc or even go out of business. We should be higher and challenging in the Championship. The reason we are not imo we waited to long before we got rid of Archie and we then employed the wrong man(willing to be proven wrong with that one). We will bounce back hopefully. How long it will take is anybody's guess.
  15. Totally understandable. We have all made sacrifices both time wise and money spent over the years. Which makes the claim by some on this forum that some fans would like to see us relegated so we could sack Caldwell, laughable. Why after spending so much time and money over the years would you want your team relegated, that would do nothing but harm to the club. Just to get rid of the manager.
  16. No matter who the manager is, what league we are in, I will still renew my season ticket as I have done for many years. But I fear not everybody will be the same.
  17. Agree. I will also say again. I think he will be our manager next season, no matter what.
  18. Cant disagree with a lot of what you say. But lets not forget we were in a near impossible situation because he only managed 5 points in his first 10 games. I will say it again, will be delighted if he proves me wrong. We stay up this season and we are challenging next season.
  19. If we are not relegated some on here and the board will probably say he saved us from relegation. I really do not think he is a good manager at the level we want to be at. But if he is still our manager next season,as I expect him to be no matter what league we are in, I hope he proves me wrong.
  20. He was terrible for Wigan until the January window, when Wigan gave him money to buy the league. He couldn't help but win the league with the money he was given, said Wigan fans on one of their websites. On Wigan and Chesterfield forums you will be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks he is a good manager and who weren't happy to see him go.
  21. This season is by far worse than last season. Most of our seasons in the premier league not getting relegated is a success. In this league we should imo be top 4. Also when you see Hamilton getting just over 1100 for an important game, is it really being over ambitious to think why could we not compete with them.
  22. But we all hope it is finished after 36 games.
  23. Agree in a way regarding loan players. But also I hope even though they are loan players they wouldn't want a relegation from the Championship on their cv. Also according to the official site Keown's contract expires end of May this year.
