  1. Unfortunately I feel we sill have a way to go yet.
  2. Can we afford Charnley for security if we go back to Ruchill ?
  3. Indeed. But if the rumours on the transfer window thread is true , we are bringing in at least 1 player before Saturday. If so I think we will be stuck with him until the end of this season. They say you learn from your mistakes , going from his past record he has made plenty. Lets hope he has learned from them.
  4. I would hope that the negotiations could be done on a season to season basis. Also with the Weirs being fans of Thistle I don't think they would leave us with a financial Albatross round our neck.
  5. I think a lot of this discussion is down to a general feeling of nothing going right at Firhill just now. When this was first muted I only remember very positive comments and how this would help us to attract players. We have been relegated. Went from looking to be promoted to being happy to finish third bottom. Imo this should at the moment be a positive for us, as long as if our financial position changes we can re negotiate any rent we are paying, if this is required.
  6. Thanks allyo. All the best to you. Lets hope 2019 is the year of the Jags and not the medical type that sting a bit.
  7. A happy and prosperous new year to everybody at Thistle. Lets hope 2019 is a vast improvement for Thistle on the park.
  8. If the board didn't look at the 2 relegations, particularly the diabolical record he had at Chesterfield ,they have put the future of our club at risk.
  9. 2 Very goods post. We as fans though are at the mercy of the board. None of us knows what sort of contract Caldwell has with regard to performance related clauses. If they have put these clauses in , he must be failing badly. Only time will tell.
  10. If we signed him. He would be after a couple of 'good weeks in training'.
  11. Agree with you. We did have 3 games in hand and the Cowdenbeath fog machine to help us.
  12. Agree with both these post's. Ran out of likes again. Asked Santa for more likes but he couldn't have got my letter.
  13. I think most would have expected Ayr and Alloa to be in the bottom 3 of the league. I am not suggesting they will end the season in the positions they are just now. But the reasons they are doing so well just now is down to the managers.
  14. Too true. The only stat that matters though is the league table and that is not looking good at all.
  15. I did mention Caldwell's record as being a factor for any thinking of signing for us.
  16. DC does have a good record in the lower leagues. His part time Arbroath are 11 points ahead of Raith rovers, who are full time. How bad must a full time team be to have a part time team ahead of them?
  17. I have no doubt we will sign some players, who will be praised by our manager and no doubt we will be told they will turn our season around. But will they be any good or be good enough to get us away from relegation play off spot.
  18. Imo no. Who is going to want to sign for a club in free fall. A new manager who has only 1 win from his first 10games. The only players we will get are they one's no other team wants. I have been wrong before and I hope I am wrong this time.
  19. The last 18months with Archie in charge was terrible, but before that he done a very good job for us. Cant see Caldwell ever coming close to what Archie done, with us or any other team.
  20. Sorry cant sign your cat, to many claws in their contract.
  21. Since our previous management team was sacked because they were not expected to get promotion, I take it Caldwell was hired to get us promotion. It would now take some sort of miracle for that to happen. If Caldwell did turn it around and we ended up in mid table, I would be quite happy to give him at least another season to see if we could get/challenge for promotion. I really don't have much faith in him turning it around, although I would be delighted to be proven wrong.
