  1. If we are looking for non-Scots players then James Craigen is my pick. Apart from Christie Elliot (who is yet to re-sign) now sure who else is from outside Scotland. Balatoni could play for Scotland under the schooling rule. Outside that then Stuart Bannigan as he is surely one that will go on and do better things. They do get booked up quick though so we should start getting ready to vote.
  2. Scottish football has to be divided between part time and full time. As another poster has said it is crazy that Angus teams can have more votes than Thistle and can dictate to bigger clubs such as Celtic. We have to look at ratio of support, investment, what they put back into the game versus voting and monetary share. You should still be allowed to move up and down leagues but all teams in Div 2 and 3 should be part-time to follow a sensible business model. Now they are demanding more money from top leagues it is not correct.
  3. Charlie Endell is making a day of it. Getting train through, fancy dress and non-stop conga line pub crawl before the game. Details to be posted later.
  4. Hi there Got an email from the club asking if we want to sponsor some player(s) for next season. Prices remain the same. I've forwarded the mail to Shuggie but wanted to get your brains working on who we would like to sponsor and get someone we really want.
  5. Another positive about a season ticket is that you don't need to budget your Saturday home games. With my 9 game package it was all paid up. Then on a Saturday at the very least all I needed was my train fare. I could pay for a program, 50/50 ticket on top of that etc but it was up to me so it felt like the game was free as I had paid it all up in advance.
  6. Update. I contacted the club about the West End Festival and they just got back to me saying they had been in touch with the festival director and will hopefully get something sorted. Good work PTFC.
  7. The biggest thing about a season ticket for a club our size is not to confirm your seat but to give the club liquidity so it knows how much it can budget for the forthcoming season. Tickets on the gate should not be a huge impact for us.
  8. Superb. I am moving up from 9 game package to a full season ticket with the additional extra TAG supplement. Very happy and excited. Let's get them bought up and get some extra cash for Archies budget.
  9. Double excitement. We need the club and all of us to push season tickets. The more money the better for the club.
  10. If it's not Saturday 3pm then next best is Friday night games against teams like Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Motherwell would be good especially home games as so many people work in Glasgow from those areas so it would be easy for them to go straight to the game after work and we would get decent crowds.
  11. And West Brewery expanding to Port Dundas! Half cut on the best lager in Scotland and spending a fortune in the shop. "Why have I got a traffic cone, half a kebab and a full Away strip in my room?"
  12. In that scenario I can see that the club would say Under 16's free but only if they have a season ticket for the big games. Encourages them to register and sign up. The club can be flexible due to demand which will only be Celtic and possible Rangers in the cup.
  13. Agree 100%. We are in a unique position to have a tie up with Queens Park. Their players can only go so far due to the amatuer status. Being in the same city and combining resources in a reciprical agreement could benefit both parties.
  14. It is a good idea. Removes the need for turnstyle operators for season ticket holders. Everyone else will have to pay at portakabin which centralises change and administration keeping the queues moving.
  15. Bin it. It's too similar to the 2 ugly sisters. Let's sing about football. (I also like both the pope and HRH. Great company at our weekends away.
  16. If people want to create different levels of pay then it is quite simple and used in football clubs. You get appearance, win bonus and goal scoring bonus. That helps push the starting 11 above the others in terms of monetary value.
  17. The Thistle board have not been very vocal about him leaving and acted professional in my opinion. They said they were disappointed, we all were. They followed the correct procedure and off he went to Dundee United. What is he bleating on about? If he wants to pay then he can pay.
  18. Don't think the club has much money for pre season tours. Sorry to be the spoil sport. Maybe down to the army base & away days in Scotland. Personally it would be good to have a link up with a welsh team after their fans were at Firhill.
  19. Noticed that the West End Festival is back this year and reintroducing the West End Street Parade where the whole of Byres Road is closed. I remember a few years back Thistle had a stall and from reports it generated interest and goodwill. Is there a chance we could get something like this again? Any old stock to be flogged and hopefully some new Joma teasers? Also a great chance to get people signed up for Adult Season Tickets Under 16 (Free) Season Tickets Centenary Fund TAG http://www.westendfestival.co.uk
  20. It's an improvement. 1 league body, redistribution of wealth and more movement between leagues is a step forward. I am not all for summer football as it means we go out of synch with European leagues but starting say 1 week earlier and finishing 1 or 2 weeks later would probably be good. A winter break gives pitches, players and supporters a rest regardless of when the winter is at its peak. Nothing finer than watching a game in the sun. Does this mean we get more money? I have to admit I did like the 8-8-8 split. Helped solve the problem of playing the same old teams. You would have everyone in Top 12 play each other twice with people fighting to get into the Top 8. Then the change happens. Top 8 battle it out, hopefully with teams taking points of each other to even things up. Middle 8 are playing for promotion and relegation so there would be 4 different teams to play against and a keen contest. Bottom 8 fight for promotion with 50% success rate.
  21. Had a look around on the net and the SPL website says the season kicks off Saturday 3rd August but no timelines for fixtures being released. Anyone got any idea? No "Club 12" worry this season.
  22. No holidays planned. Got a wedding to pay for in September. Going to be a quiet summer.
  23. Team for tomorrow? With injuries and Dowie and Craig away we need to play 4-4-2 and I'm struggling to name full subs! -------------------------Daniels--------------------- McMillan----Muirhead-----Balatoni------Sinclair Lawless----Forbes--------Bannigan------Elliot -------------McGuigan------Doolan--------------
