  1. From the Board comments at the end of the season I was under the impression we would be highly competitive with signings. We pocketed something like £1million in prize money for finishing 11th. So I'm confused by AA 's comments and becoming concerned about our transfer activity compared with the likes of DU,RC etc
  2. Fighting to stay in the league? Absolutely pathetic. Losers.
  3. Dreadful news. Feels like a death in the family . RIP John .
  4. Glasgow City Council may be considering regeneration of the Firhill basin area. This could present Thistle with an opportunity to redevelop Firhill as part of that. I'd like to see a fit for purpose 4_sided stadium in the present location. https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=20386
  5. So the postponed Celtic game due 25th Nov is now Weds 20th Dec giving us 8 games in December. Total nonsense.
  6. Very sad news. Farewell Harry. Forever a Jag.
  7. So 9 or 10 points then? That would have been a tremendous start given the fixtures! IMHO we are probably 4 or 5 pts off where we should be. Chucked away a point today in the last 5 mins for sure. I think though we look better than at this stage last season. Will we finish top 6? Possibly Hibs might take our spot.
  8. If Dallas sees it from behind the goal as per the replays he gives the pen. Don't think he sees the contact properly as Storey blocks his view. And on another day Doools scores his header. Poor first half from us. Decent 2nd. Turnbull, Sammon and Storey look like great signings on tonight's show. Onward and upward with a degree of confidence.
  9. A st johnstone poster on pie and bovril points out that in their 1st top 6 season their last 6 games were a disaster too. Not sure on money but I reckon we've got an extra 200k in revenue compared with 7th, based on rangers and Celtic crowds and the higher place finish. Hopefully that extra cash will help us push on and help us repeat what SJ have achieved in the next seasons
  10. Unless he can replace one of likely to be departing centre backs, its hard to see how he would be needed.
  11. 1958 aged about 18 months so can't remember against who. We lived in Bardowie St just off Saracen Street up to the age of 5 and remember walking to the games with my dad and being lifted over the turnstiles. I remember as a youngster also sitting on the wall behind the goal now the North Stand. 1st game on my own... cup game vs St Johnstone which we lost 1-8!
  12. ' A massive 6 pointer' says Archie in the Evening Times. Let's hope aftermath of the poor cup game performance and injuries don't cost us.
  13. For those of us with a strong consitution can relive the highlights on BBC Alba tonight. Hopefully they will cut out the entire first half!
  14. Watching BBC Alba. I take it Boyd has had his baby then as he's looking a bit leaner this season.
  15. So it's not a debate then it's you wanting to be negative . Facts are we've lost to 2 teams in the top 3 as it stands and to an Aberdeen team who will easily be top 6. in addition our goals for / against are not far off the rest of the teams. Our league performances except vs St Johnstone have been good. Let's see where we stand after the first round of games before getting all depressed.
  16. Indeed having played hearts, st Johnstone both in top 3 and Aberdeen who have a significantly stronger team than us. Facts
  17. We have conceded 1 more goal than Celtic in the league and scored 1 less goal than St Johnstone who are 3rd. Slim margins making the difference early in the season....we were unlucky against both Aberdeen and Hearts and from what I've read might have nicked it vs Killie. Onward and upward.
  18. Great job on the commentary . Well done guys .
  19. How did Archies dud signings perform today? That's right. Excellent all of them. Well done Jags.
  20. Just found this shows an alarming fall in our attendance in 2014/15 http://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn/avesco.htm
  21. Shows the state of Scottish football when 4000 fans for an average home attendance is too high. I think we deserve more fans considering where we are based & the quality of football we've played in the last 3 or 4 seasons. Depressing really isn't it.
  22. I can't verify the figure ...I'm sure it was on another thread ? Thinking about the £ though , let's assume you budget 4000 fans per home game at £20 each and you get 1000 less then 19 games X £20 x1000 = £400k approx ?
