  1. Based on my very limited understanding, things are probably “ok” financially but to claim there is no reliance on Weir money is disingenuous. TBC donated £1.7m of assets using Colin’s money to buy back the rest of the stadium. That turned £200K loss into £1.5m “profit”. That support won’t be available going forward. That £1.7m also added to existing £4.5m valn of Firhill that suddenly jumped another £7.8m to £14m!! Hard to see how Firhill is worth that much, given that value is just as a football stadium. The £200K loss was to strengthen the squad, which was a fair enough gamble. However, it only bought us 4th in league. It also halved our cash in bank, important for a company that has no lines of credit. Plus buried in all that was Queens Park groundshare money, but we still lost £200K.
  2. I think compensation has already been ruled out and it now a matter of how much we will need to pay the other clubs. Plus the matter of the SFA fine. Note also the decision was unanimous. As others pointed out before, the law does not deal in what is wrong or right, just what the rules are. SPFL rules allowed the flawed vote, so everything else that follows is legal. Dundee United welcomes the decision of the Arbitral Tribunal (the “Tribunal”) which was issued today on the following terms: “The tribunal appointed in terms of Scottish Football Association Article 99 issued its decision today. It unanimously held that the challenges to the Written Resolution of 15 April 2020 failed, and that the SPFL were entitled to pass, and give effect to, the Written Resolution and all that flowed from it. Accordingly it refused to grant any of the orders sought by Heart of Midlothian FC and Partick Thistle FC and continued the arbitration for submissions about expenses.”

Fairly sure that is just a mock up of what someone thinks the kits should be. Will be interesting to compare on Friday with what we actually get.

    New Kit

Might be a hasty retraction from me. I think the tops are in a series of “what ifs” for all teams in Scotland. They actually looked very good. @gwr_67 on Twitter if you fancy a look. Won’t put picture here in case it turns out to be a double bluff!

    New Kit

Very plausible leak online of 3 new tops for 2020/21. Annoying as it was, I was kind of enjoying the daily countdown until Friday.
  6. According to article in DR, it was an “independent decision” not made by the clubs. At least they got that bit right. Plus sharing of title where it was too close to call (Darvel & Blantyre), as should have happened with Raith & Falkirk. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tommy-sloan-junior-league-decision-21910279.amp?__twitter_impression=true
  7. The only solution that “works” for Hearts is a 14 team top league for 20/21. I think by temporary that means reverting to 12 teams for 21/22, so 3 down at end of 20/21.
  8. I suspect DFC are simply taking advantage of the monumental error the SPFL made by releasing the partial result. Will see how that plays out. However, this is one reason I am not keen on calls for boycotts. The Forfar chairman for example has kind of dug himself into a hole. Had Forfar called in the football debt for Alan Morgan in the run up to Save The Jags, there probably wouldn’t have been been a club to save. For me, that gives them a free pass for their chairman saying things on the radio.
  9. I always thought the extra places are always delayed, so it doesn’t kick in until 2021/22.

    AGM

Last night, David Beattie (and I think by extension the entire current board) offered to stay in place as long as it was required. This included beyond the transfer of shares to the new owners. While I suspect this was meant in the context of the new owners being the consortium, what if the current board stayed in place regardless of who the new owners were? Surely a model of fan ownership coupled with an experienced board is an attractive proposition?

I understood it that these figures are predictions for 2019/20

Since Ken Bates owned stakes in the mighty Thistle and some wee London team. Was stated SFA have come back with further questions. David Beattie referenced a quote of his in press that he wanted to see resolution in next 3 to 4 weeks.

None of the above. David Beattie said he was disappointed story came out so early, before the point they could say more. Only real info about consortium was they aren’t interested buying PropCo “at this point”.

    AGM

There was some mumbling between the directors and essentially the amount part of the question was avoided. So I would guess, confidentiality would be the reason. At these things, they will talk high level figures but never about individual player salaries.
