  1. Oh. They still haven't updated his page on the PTFC web site. Glad to hear. Hope he recovers quicker than they anticipate. Hah! Someone on the web team must have been reading this. It's updated now to show he's with us to 2026
  2. Stevie out for rest of season. Steven Lawless | Partick Thistle FC (ptfc.co.uk) Seems he's expected back in 2025 which is good of us as his contract ends this summer (not that I mind keeping him on) This is a double blow as we've never had adequate cover for our wingers this season. I think our best plan is to change formation to 3-5-3 or 3-4-3. We desperately need other missing players back ASAP
  3. Posted this on the wrong thread 10 mins ago: GOAL! Fitzie.

  5. It was good to see MacKenzie get a good 20 minutes plus added time in an attacking role instead of the usual 30 seconds he gets (unless he's subbing for a full back).
  6. Watched the replay in highlights a few times (to find a pause that gave the best view) and the guy is offside by about a foot or so. My surprise is that the linesman didn't miss it, being quite close. Well done! BTW looked at the penalty as well. Thought it wasn't at game. But the replay shows the ball takes an odd bounce so Aero doesn't get a connection. He is lying on the ground then and there's a bit of coming together with the forward. In real time I can see how the ref gave it though it's a bit unlucky. We still shouldn't have let the situation develop though. Our defence looks better with Aero back and Milne looking a bit like his old self, but our midfield don't give them enough protection. I wonder if our signings are too much influenced by Dools being a forward. When they're on form our attacking line is very good. But he doesn't seem to have grasped the need for a defensive midfielder. Some folk may have criticised him at times, but we really miss Docherty.
  7. I see I've been quoted from where I posted in the wrong thread. Ah ... now I've found the edit option.
  8. Doolan's preview said Ngwenya is out, as well as Fitzpatrick and McMillan (though latter two back training - bench maybe?). Didn't mention Milne so there's hope, though I seem to remember him limping off on Friday. Hope Milne at least is back. At least Aero will be back.
  9. Who is fit to play? KD says Ngwenya, Fitzpatrick and McMillan unavailable (though latter two back in training) but is Milne fit? McKenzie at RB again I suppose. At least Aero will be back to stiffen the back line. If Milne isn't fit we might have to play Williams at RB and McKenzie at LB. Hope to all the gods Milne makes it.
  10. Not only that they had a double cup win in 2021. That must have filled the coffers. I wonder if some boards get careless** when they get unexpected money and blow it instead of saving some for future downturns. **or something
  11. I mut admit at the start of the season I was worried about the loss of Tiffoney and Turner but I think the forward line is fine. Our real loss is Docherty and Holt. Muirhead is our only experienced centre back and it shows at times.
  12. Yes, not given enough credit. Don't think he made a brilliant save but some very good ones and a very brave one where he got hurt. But for him they might have had a lead at half time.
  13. Would make sense for Ngwenya to play in the cup game to settle him into the position (he's come on as sub but not as full back) before the more vital league game. BTW I think a few players on the sidelines may get a start next week. Possibly Robinson, Adeloye, Williamson and Mckenzie.
  14. How does the member numbering work? I've recently joined and I'm 1654? Just curious, I'm chuffed to see we can definitely commit the £10,000 a month.
  15. And five minutes later even more substitutes: Fitzpatrick, Robinson, and Mackenzie come off. They are replaced by trialists wearing 3, 14, and 15. One minute later: hardy surprising with all these changes, Kelty equalise.
  16. Half-time substitutes for Partick Thistle: Sneddon, Graham, and Lawless come off. David Mitchell, Anton Dowds, and Trialist no. 7 are on. Ten minutes later, Substitutions: Williams, Bannigan, and Trialist no. 6 off. Stanway, Lyon, and Trialist no. 2 on.
  17. All this was supposed to be happening supported by Colin Weir's investment, then sales of young players to keep it going. If we're needing to restart this, does it mean mismanagement of the club has affected our youth system?
  18. One difference from McCall's team I think is the number of players we get into the box. Sometimes under McCall we played nice football and had a lot of pressure but often when the final ball came in there was only one guy there. Some pundits have suggested luck at some of our goals but when you have 4 or 5 guys charging into the penalty area you're going to have a good chance of taking advantage of any breaks.
  19. I thought the reason Muirhead went down easily was that he was off balance (from grappling with Akinyemi). Perhaps Muirhead should have been booked. But Akinyemi flung a straight arm punch at him, that's a sending off in any game. Doesn't even matter if you hit your opponent - though he did. I thought the commentating team were disgusting in their continual comments that it wasn't a red card. (I guess it came from disappointment that it killed the game off). Replays showed clearly that it was a punch and it doesn't matter how much connection it made, even a fresh air punch is a sending off by the rules.
  20. Just like to say one improvement under Dools is in Jagzone interviews. McCall's seemed to last barely 1 minute. Dools' are at least 3 times that. You feel you get your money's worth. I don't think it can be purely due to bad runs and not wanting to discuss them too much. I don't recall much longer ones when we were winning (or was it so long ago I forgot?) I suspect McCall worried too much about giving info away to the opposition while Dools is just so enthusiastic about being able to manage the team he's happy to talk away.
  21. I too supported McCall, however I saw one flaw which is that it takes him time to build a team - he's not the kind of manager who immediately turns things round. I never realised that this would mean that when we have a lot of players injured, we would be back to square one again. I accept form will dip in these circumstances but our form plummeted. Even with the players missing we should have picked up the odd point (in our long run of defeats) and shown more fight. We shouldn't have been shipping barrowloads of goals. I don't believe the board will sack him soon though, so we have to hope players get back soon and bring some good form with them.
