3 points on the road and a long awaited clean sheet plus for the statto’s amongst us it is now mathematically impossible to finish bottom of league
10 points from 6 games to guarantee playoffs

Arbroath had a few dangerous attacks early on, and Mitchell made a good save. Thistle gradually got on top. Some great Lawless McMillan moves, and McBeth again outstanding at the back.
Excellent run and shot from Fitzy for the goal, but celebration seemed a bit delayed. Were there some deflections along the way?
1-0 at halftime is fair reflection of the play. Game certainly not over yet. Would like to see another goal or three.
Why stop at 3 ?

Sorry if it’s not PC, but I would add that the game at Gayfield is far more important than any kick about at Tynecastle

would take a point tbh.
From the team rock bottom of the league we have to be more ambitious than that. A win should be the only acceptable result.

You know you should have gone with the latter one. In my opinion both are at least a day too early

Thought McInroy, Robinson, MC Beth, were outstanding today, for someone who was playing Junior football 2/ 3 months ago MC Beth has been a real find, one of Doolans best.. How many others are out there...???????
I think you just mentioned McInroy and Robinson in your own post 🤷♂️

To the posters who picked up parking tickets last night, Morton are almost 3/1 to win on Sat so good way to get fines paid off quickly.
Hope nobody took your advice. Never rely on the Jags for any bets.

With the championship likely to be stronger next year with Falkirk coming up is anyone else becoming very worried about fighting relegation next year
Not if we are relegated this year

Never understood spending some of the budget on Alston, Macdonald and Williamson. Waste of money. We then sign a goalie as cover they obviously dont rate the lad McCready. Reminds me of Archies recruitment.
I think it better that Mason gets some game time with Spartans to develop rather than sitting on the bench for us. He is one that might still come through and is contracted to 2025. For next year I would like to see Mason and another up and coming keeper backing up one experienced keeper and not any of the current batch who are proven to be not good enough.
I didn’t know that Mason’s dad won a Super Bowl for the Patriots in 2001.

Next season could be very competitive in the Championship, with the possibility that Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and Livingston all looking to get promoted, along with Falkirk being far more of a threat than Arbroath. We have 12 players who’s contracts expire or loans end (including 3 keepers, 2 regular defenders and right back) so this will be a big transfer window for us to be near contention.

Only 4 clean sheets in 28 league games. Not won a league game or had a clean sheet since 6th January against an heavily depleted Arbroath team. 5 points from the last 24 available.
Our form since January has been relegation material. For any other manager of any other club the manager would either be gone or facing serious questions about his future. Personally I would have thought if we don't win any of the next 2 the club needs to act.
We face Morton next and they are on a bit of a slump with Oakley and Wilson out followed by an ICT team that are currently 2nd bottom so no real excuses for not getting results.
We have already lost twice in recent weeks to teams who were second from bottom (Dunfermline and Ayr). Why do you think that ICT will be any easier ?

The general trend of the team isn’t great…..we are struggling to win a game and far from challenging for promotion we are only 4 points above the fifth placed side ( cue….i always thought we would be mid table , I’m amazed we are not relegated by now )
its 9 games since we have won a match and our performances are very variable with defensive weaknesses continuing.
signs of improvement not that obvious
We are only 9 points above 9th, so I wouldn’t rule out a playoff on current form.

Going for the Aberdeen job this time ?

Would take a draw
We need a win to end this run. Anything less and it will be 7 since our last.

As said, if we don’t start winning soon then we won’t be in the promotion playoffs irrespective of other results.
-
Other results don’t matter when we can’t even buy a win.

It should be kick up the arse, not an incentive!
From the Derek Adams school of man management ?

Airdrie and Morton both getting beat. Good first half in terms of scores

Well that was not the start I was expecting. Williams with an assist.

Totally surprised by this team selection.
Any guesses on the formation. Are we going
4-4-1-1, or
3-5-1-1, or
5-3-1-1 or any other formation.
We have suggested that McBeth could play at the back, so start with a back 6, with McKenzie and Ngwenya to come on if we need more
-
When did we last have a home league game kick off at 3pm on a Saturday ? (I know I can easily find the answer, but I am a lazy bugger)
-
I don’t think that starting a match thread will make much difference. Just hope the final score isn’t embarrassing.
That said, in a typically thistley way, we will probably win it with a clean sheet.

Actually it is more. Morton can get to 58 if they win all their games, so we need 13. Airdrie can get to 60 even if Morton beat them.
