  1. Talking of Gaston, I emailed the club a good few years back about him. He was playing as a trialist for Albion rovers in what was at the time an annual friendly against Celtic. I had previously seen him at baillieston 21s. He put in the best performance I've ever seen from a goalkeeper. I never heard back from them. Not even a thank you but no thanks. I'd take a kinda perverse pleasure if he signed for us.
  2. I think realistically we would sell anyone in the region of 100k. I also think that we are marketing ourselves at being a place for young talented players to show off their abilities and as such we would not stand in the way of a player having the opportunity of a big move... It's a good thing in my opinion and we would become very attractive to similar younger player who become available
  3. I'd put you at about 17 or 16 from the absolute pish you talk... As was stated before the international set up has a MASSIVE impact upon league football in Scotland, particularly the top league in which we currently ply our trade. It has a direct impact on player values, league value ie tv deals and exposure for individual players, all having a DIRECT impact upon thistle... Bannigan being involved in the u21s playing with and against some of the best you g talent in Europe will have only a positive impact on his playing career and as a consequence his employers, thistle... Dry yer eyes and once they are try opening them and looking at the bigger picture FFS
  4. He plays under billy stark for the u21s a man who is clueless re all things tactical... But in answer the left side of a middle 3
  5. We were rubbish, I mean total sh1te for the first 50 mins... Motherwell had obviously watched how we played and nullified us perfectly. Higgenbotham made a massive difference when he came on but too many players not at the races particularly Fraser and bannigan... Might have done enough to sneak a draw but a wee bit of a reality check today
  6. Motherwell is a hole. It really is. Most bars near the ground will be packed with home support and there are no decent boozers in the town centre. Get off the train at Hamilton west, 3 decent boozers within 200 yards of station, particularly tap room and bar west. Then jump back on train 2 very short stops to airbles and the ground.
  7. That's what I thought when I seen it... To be fair I've had a few and they just kill your leg making it impossible to play... He was, and the team was, so unlucky it happen just prior to half time as the stoppage would've made it much worse... Good news he is ok though we badly missed him
  8. Firefox is defo the way ahead... With the adblocker installed it makes what used to be a horrendous pain in the arse to watch a game fairly straight forward. Total doddle
  9. Ha ha! Still up! I'm glad you weren't one to vent your anger at Sid whilst he was playing, I hate players getting pelters from their own fans, no matter how deserved it is, never, ever helps... I was hasty in dismissing your "knowledge of the game" relative to your opinion on Donnelly but I do struggle to see how anyone could not see that he was clearly on a different level to all around him for 2/3 seasons but we'll agree to differ... He also had offers to go elsewhere whilst at us but stuck around and was instrumental in us getting Mcnamara in as a player. Despite what you think now that proved to be a fantastic move. Fact is football is a job to guys like McNamara and Donnelly so I find it pretty strange that you could hate someone for improving their terms and conditions in a free market, particularly after serving their previous employer well... Oh and well done you for having an online footprint back to whenever... I've been going to firhill as long as I can remember first game I can is meadowbank 1985 I think. Just cause I don't hang about forums and boast about doing so don't make me less of a fan. From my join date here you'll see I'm no glory hunter... I also had the same username on olas... But again I have a life so don't spend a lot of time here, only in down time and when I do I despair at comments such as Donnelly was sh1te for us...
  10. God knows... I hope you don't think I was saying I didn't think he was any good... Quite the opposite... He was a good player in a very poor side and as you say we owe him a lot! A hellava lot
  11. Simon Donnelly? You have got to be joking? For a 2/3 year spell he was the only good thing about thistle. He just was on a total different level to everyone about him most of the time which lead to apparent stray passes, they weren't just played next to sh1te... He used to get some amount of stick off certain fans who clearly had no knowledge of the game over things that were clearly not his fault ie caught in possession after looking, looking and looking again for a pass and not finding one and playing passes that were clearly above the footballing intellect of his team mates... As good a technically gifted player we've had since Chico, who also suffered from his team mates lack of ability at times... I guess Watson towers was one of the haters of Donnelly which says a lot about your knowledge of the game. Abuse of players like Donnelly used to frustrate the life out me as they used to try and keep the ball and play intelligently, even if it meant going backwards but some idiots used to shout and bawl at passes played back to centre halfs and possession based football. Thankfully thanks to McNamara and McCall before him we have educated most as to how the game should be played but even under both and now archie we still get idiotic shouts about not getting the ball forward. If we have the ball the other team ain't scoring! Rant over Mon the jags
  12. Billy Gibson I thought was more than decent for us... Very tidy. He suffered from lack of quality about him. Martin lauchlan just was amazing when he came on to the scene. One of the only times I've genuinely thought this guy could go to the very top, dunno why it never worked out for him... Peter lindau was another who in his time at thistle genuinely looked liked he could go to the very top, suppose in hindsight lack of pace done him, although I believe he did no bad back home after us. Still hold a grudge with the saviour senior lambie for not keeping him on!
  13. Walter smith called me a fu(king animal for a challange I made in a game. Pegged Robert prytz... Been called a c&nt by Paul kinnard again for a challenge made, he was a total bellend btw and been bought a pint by ally mccoist when he was a good guy. Nipped a burd fae river city, young blonde thing, can't think for the life of me her name or character but was on it about 4/5 years ago.... Tea bagged an awake Paul Hartley, well on an accies team night out he lifted me up whilst I had a kilt on and walked me about on his shoulders with the baws banging about his neck/coupon Kissed bobby George
  14. Signed for east fife in December. Playing very well by all accounts
  15. You obviously haven't seen much of mackay-Stevens then I presume? Best young scottish player in SPL by a mile... Erskine is good but remember who he was looking good against... I think he may struggle next year. Good luck to him though, just no against us!
