  1. Cardboard cut-out? (Sorry, disrespectful)
  2. I don't remember being offered a card
  3. Thanks for that. Turns out I was missing something, but not something obvious in my opinion, and without this forum I genuinely don't think I'd have found it. What do people without smartphones do? It doesn't seem very inclusive to me.
  4. So I bought my season ticket ages ago, have received nothing, and I don't believe the club has advised me about how to receive it. I've tried downloading the app, and while it recognises the sale I can't see anything that actually looks like a season ticket (or which would get me through the gate). I must be missing something.
  5. Zander McKenzie is not going to impressed with these comparisons.
  6. I'm.getting a big cigar and a sheepskin jacket
  7. Lots of complicated arguments but for me it was always quite simple. For me, what Partick Thistle is, will always be more important than league position. I'd have no interest in supporting a club that is part of a group where it lies down the hierarchy and feeds others. In fact I'd argue that at that stage it ceases to be a "club". I'd struggle to support a club with dodgy ownership. I get frustrated by one where the owners are just a bit useless. But we've been there and it's never really put me off. I'm delighted to support a fan owned club. For me that's the ideal. I just really hope we can make it work. I dont expect it to be plain sailing, bit I'm feeling positive.
  8. Sorry. I've heard this argument so many times and I just don't get it. We didn't get a third goal at Firhill but we did get a good 2-0 win and then we did get a third goal at Dingwall. We were 3-0 up with 20 minutes to go. How anyone can say that game was lost at Firhill is totally beyond me. Regarding the shootout, I'm not up for excuses, but it's a fair question. Yeah the flares and incursions were annoying but it wasn't exactly the most combustible situation that a penalty shootout has ever been conducted in. There's no reason why normal rules shouldn't have been applied. Everything else was just the usual shite.
  9. Said it before, will say it again... Fair play to those who called out the previous board. I wasn't one if them. Without that I think the state we're in could have been worse.
  10. Oh no no no no. When you wear stripes, you don't introduce a third colour into your stripes. That's just not on. Objection. I do quite like the goalie one though.
  11. What physically is a season ticket these days? Am i waiting for something through the post?
  12. Nisbet apparently going for £2 million. I assume we don't get anything, given that he didn't sign from us.
  13. Just another point, and it's one that I think I'm more extreme on than anyone else, but interested to know if anyone else shares my thoughts. I definitely wouldn't buy a season ticket for the Premier league. In fact I'm not sure how much I'd go to games in the Premier league. This is because, for me, var absolutely ruins football. This has nothing to do with last weekend. To me, the essence if football is absolutely reliant on the immediate release and joy of a goal being scored. If goals have to be checked and rechecked before they are counted, something essential is lost. This essential ingredient in what is supposed to be entertainment, is much more important than every single decision being "correct" (which var has failed to provide anyway). I very much doubt it will happen, but I really hope that var is eradicated. If everyone felt like me then it would be, because attendances and live TV subscriptions would crash. But I don't think everyone does.
  14. I'll buy one. Will be the first time in a few years, and I can't really afford it.
  15. It's easy to feel after last Sunday that everything that was achieved in the previous weeks was futile. I just wonder how much the excitement, the goals, the big crowds, the publicity and even the pain and feeling of injustice has contributed to the great reaction from fans. Had the league campaign fizzled out.in April, would the reaction have been the same? The playoff campaign has united and energised the Thistle support, and made us stronger. We'll get through this.
  16. If I remember correctly, the PTFC Trust was keen to keep the old board in place because they were doing such a good job. I have to say well done to the people driving things in TJF. Without their knowledge and determination who knows where we'd be.
  17. Yeah. I'm generally not quick to criticise, and I'm no expert when it comes to business, but I can't disagree with any of that.
  18. Thanks for that. I wonder if how the budget situation will affect the timeline (or feasibility) of "everything functioning well".
  19. Apologies for needing this clarified, but where are we regarding fan ownership exactly? My understanding is: That the PTFC Trust was awarded the shares. That the PTFC Trust is only a few people. That the PTFC Trust now has a decent and trusting cooperation arrangement with TJF. But that TJF, which is the organisation with fan membership (and the capability of raising essential funds), doesn't actually have any ownership. That any money raised by TJF going to the club will be a gift. That TJF has very limited say in the running of the club. That as s member of TJF I am in no way an owner of the club. Is this correct?
  20. Best wishes to everyone. I've heard from quite a lot of people taking it quite badly, and I felt pretty terrible on Sunday night and through Monday. Starting to ease but it still hurts. In the end it is just a game. There are more important things. Rationally it shouldn't really matter. But rationality and football don't go together. It will ease, and whatever transpires we'll still all be glad we're Thistle fans.
  21. Brlliant stats. Not sure I can pick a favourite. However I'm going to challenge that we scored 16 goals without reply on the run in to promotion in 2021?
  22. Same approach as at Ayr. Go out to win the match. If we don't we might still get through. 2-0 is a great result on the night. No ifs or buts. But regardless of the score there was always going to be work still to do.
  23. Malky McKay is going for the standard managerial tactic of talking the other team up. Kris Doolan on the other hand, unlike most managers, is talking up his own team. I don't really understand why Kris Doolan's approach is so unconventional. I think statistically you'd find that favourites win more often than not.
