Very frustrating today, difficult conditions with the pitch in patches very bumpy. First half we got the ball down well though and tried to play good passing football. Cairney again looked our best player driving forward with confidence at every opportunity. I agree with previous post about the need for tightening up the defence at set pieces. It was a very scrappy goal by Raith from a corner which did look like a handball. The way the officials dealt with it was a shambles and there is no wonder McNamara lost the plot and was sent to the stand. Frustrating last 30mins with Raith time wasting whenever possible. Again, the referee struggling to control matters letting things go time and time again. Fair play to the Thistle boys though who kept rallying, especially Paul Paton in midfield who was giving his all. Unfortunately we looked too frantic and there was too many misplaced passes and crosses. You can fault them for effort though, it just wan't our day. A bad result especially with Ross County and Dundee drawing. Hopefully we can get back on track on boxing day and keep pushing up the league.

Any chat from McCall on new signings? Hardie/Fox contracts?

Surprising to read some of the comments about Buchanan. he has been struggling to hit form this season, no doubt about it but like all strikers goals bring confidence and after 3 in 2 games I think we might well be seeing a return to form from the wee man. Liam has been our main goal threat since he signed in 2007 and has served us well despite suffering some horific injuries. Lets hope he keeps up his recent form and bags the winner tomorrow night

With no game this weekend to look forward to, I can't help but reminisce on some golden Thistle moments! The Lambie days winning back to back championships, promotion play off win at peterhead, cup runs, inter toto cup exploits, pre-season trips to northern ireland, etc, etc I used to have loads of great photos but lost them when my old computer decided to pack in. Anyone got some classic photos they can share? Thought it would be a good idea for a post...get everyones enthusiasm up again after what has been a realtively dull season so far! There used to be a decent selection of photos on ptfc.net (I think it was that site) with old photos, surprised how few come up on google images!

I witnessed what happened yesterday and to be honest the whole thing was blown way out of proportion. Yes there was swearing and fans were upset with the poor performance of the team and the match officials..myself included...but this goes on at every football match across the country every week. Never have i seen anything so riduculous than a fan being escorted out the ground for swearing at the linesman! Lennyjag and Lennyjag Snr are on here saying they have been targeted by a group of thistle yobs...away and give us peace. Fans were shouting at the police and stewards for wrestling a fan out of the ground for what was a minor incident. I'm sure I'm not the only one that saw the steward push and kick out at the fan whilst he was being taken out the row by the policeman. If anything he should have been done for assault. Lets get back to the football and get behind the team.. FTOF - FTP & FTQ

Seems some people are never happy...considering the financial restrictions in place at the club Ian McCall is doing a great job. We've lost some quality players in the last couple of years and no money has been made available to him to replace these guys. We're running with an extremely tight squad this season but on a positive note hopefully this will be the year when young players get a chance to break through. I was delighted to see young Macbeth scoring the winner in the 1st game. 2 games into the season and 2 wins...so far so good. Get behind the side and McCall, lets not make his job even harder....here's to another win up at Starks Park next Saturday
