  1. With the possible exception of McGinty for Saunders, team pretty much picks itself these days. Is it just me or does the Subs bench, Sneddon aside, look like the items left in the 'Must Go January Sale'? Looking forward to the game I think we can cause a big upset.
  2. Aye man. Not long back from 16 days in the Canaries where I hardly saw a cloud. So f--^^&g grim and dark.
  3. Oddly enough, despite their running away with the league, I'm confident that we'll get something from this game on Saturday. 13/5 for the draw isn't a bad bet.
  4. I was on holiday when this happened, just back, and didn't know about it until after the Morton game. Regardless of how or by whom the club ends up being run, this is very sad and the timing is particularly cruel, as Colin hasn't lived to see his dream of fan ownership coming true. He was, however, able to see the turn round that has been happening on and off the field, and he was able to do something that most, if not all, of us have dreamed of. His generosity was remarkable and was aimed, it appears, at supporting not one but two good (if never particularly popular) causes: supporting a non-sectarian football club in this great city and the ending of Westminster rule in this great country. A folk-singing, and Jags supporting, friend of mine used to say that once being a Partick Thistle fan in the 20th century was like being a Jacobite in the 18th and 19th! Colin would have appreciated that, I'm sure. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
  5. I should have copied and pasted from the Bowling Club site, that would have been ok. And WTF would you know about anything constructive?
  6. Some other views from outside the (hermetically sealed) Bowling Club’s Ministry of Truth bunker. --------- Goodwin’s presentation on fan ownership as an overall concept was fine, but when questioned about what things would mean for Thistle he gave a lot of politician’s answers where he talked for ages without actually saying much. Bryan Jackson told some stories about clubs going into administration which didn’t seem particularly relevant to anything, and I’d bet that Dundee fans don’t agree with his assertion that they enjoyed admin because they got to find out more about the inner workings of their club. Didn’t feel that the pair of them fared well to the cross-examination which came in the Q&A afterwards. Dismissed Motherwell’s poor recent financial returns as pretty much “oh well, these things happen”, and repeatedly refused to answer what would (will?) happen if the new board aren’t ready to take the shares on from TBC by the deadline. -------- Thought Mr Goodwin came across poorly with no answers to very important questions. “That shouldn’t happen” was the reply when asked about what happens if 3BC turn down the proposal the working group come up with. Don’t really know why Jackson was there. And for those wondering how we’re going to plug any budget gap when the fans take over - we’re going to hire out the Rough Lounge more often. Its all pie in the sky as far as I can see. If Goodwin has been doing this for 10 years but can’t answer basic fundamental questions, his motives and competence must be in doubt. Comparing fan ownership in Scotland to Germany and Spain was laughable. Didn’t like the sound of it to begin with, and still don’t like the sound of it. --------- Goodwin should be chased. We’ve been well warned by fans of several different clubs. ------------ Really doesn't inspire confidence, considering what we've already been told about Goodwin. I'd obviously love this to work out well, but I can't help but feel this has disaster written all over it
  7. Not a bad bet at William Hill, 15/8. ETA 9/1 to win 2-1, not a ridiculous bet either.
  8. And then some. To be fair she hasn't had much time recently as she's been too busy helping with Boris's campaign. Now that she's helped destroy the nation she will now turn her spectacular incompetence to helping to destroy Thistle.
  9. No you're right Polyanna, he just pointed out that there were a whole series of unknowns that he 'invited someone to answer'. But nobody did. Inviting some to give an answer is definitely not the same thing as asking question, not no time not ever, could it ever remotely be interpreted as such.
  10. Constructive? What, 'constructive' as in the way you slip in wee snide personal remarks?
  11. As a Partick Thistle fan I will be going to the Glasgow Cup game to support my team. Even though it's a diddy competition, and clearly regarded as such by TFE and its adherents. Why anyone connected with the Club, and with 'the best interests of the CLub at heart' (boom! boom!) would organise a Q&A on a night which clashed with a competitive match truly passeth all understanding. If this is a taste of thing to come from TFE … mind you it is the sort of thing a failed 'communications expert' might do.
  12. When you answer the points JJ made about the unknowns, I'll catch up with this.
  13. Funny you didn't ask that when the previous poster attacked individuals on here as 'as undermining the process with rumour, personal slights on the people involved, a constant implied suggestion of inside knowledge that may or may not be real, and ridicule of those who take an opposing view.' I mean funny peculiar, not funny ha-ha.
  14. Funny that. Could be something to do with the fact that we have 'habitually' failed to win 12 out of 16 league games, sometime against 'part timers'. So my success rate would be quite high - and even Ian McCall said he would be happy with 50% for the rest of his career.
