SPFL seek new powers. From BBC website:-
The Scottish Professional Football League has issued a resolution to clubs asking them to cede Covid-19-related decisions to its board for next season.
The resolution only relates to disruption caused by coronavirus and is limited to season 2020-21, with the ability to change the start date for the following campaign.
There would be an express requirement to consult with clubs over decisions.
The organisation is keen to avoid a repeat of the recent in-fighting.
At present, major decisions taken by the SPFL must be ratified by the 42 member clubs.
A majority voted to curtail the leagues after coronavirus had caused the suspension of football in March.
The SPFL then held an indicative vote for clubs to adopt a 14-10-10-10 league structure, which was rejected, and Hearts and Partick Thistle began legal action to try to overturn their respective relegations from the Premiership and Championship.
he letter sent with the resolution to clubs warns that failure to approve it would mean the SPFL placing the onus on Covid-19 decision making with the member clubs once again "with all of the rancour and division that we saw in season 2019-20".
The letter also states that it was "apparent earlier this year, SPFL rules do not adequately cover the situation where a season has to be curtailed, with a number of games remaining to be played".
A series of divisional meetings will take place over the next few weeks to discuss the resolution.
It requires the backing of nine of the 12 Premiership clubs, eight out of 10 in the Championship, and 15 from 20 in Leagues One and Two combined.
Clubs have 28 days to respond and have been informed if their voting return backs the resolution they cannot later change their decision.
If the board receives enough support prior to the 28-day period the resolution will pass.
In footballing terms, its an own goal !

If anyone was listening to Sportsound yesterday, you would have heard Tom English state , that he asked the question to Neil Doncaster, what if the No vote failed, Doncaster replied that he would keep bringing the vote back again, a bit like Therese May and Brexit, this hopefully will be noted in our case.

Things seem to be happening quickly tonight with this appointment , I hope there's something to this, maybe an announcement on League reconstruction, can imagine there's phones been going red hot over the weekend, maybe SPFL have come to their senses, hopefully its Thistle and Hearts stay where we are, and its reconstruction.

Another Christmas season approaches but for me like other Jags fans, thoughts drift to January and who, what and why will be entering/ exiting Firhill.
Last season we had a nice return from Scott McDonald with a couple of stocking fillers getting us over the line.
It's not been pretty but Mr McCall has started to turn things around. We're still staring down the barrel of 11th or 12th place though and the manager has said we need anywhere from 2 or 3 to 5 or 6 new signings.
Who would you like in who would you particularly like to see the back of in January 2020?
Would like to see the Striker Salim Kouider Aaiser from Queens Park Joining the club in January, has only played 13 games so far , but has scored 7 plus 2 assists, I reckon he could do a job for us.

I often see Alex McLeish in the West end of Glasgow, could he be looking to get back into club football in Scotland ? McLeish and Kenny Miller management team

Heard th young player from Celtic, Dembele joining on loan .

The shop seems to be out of stock in a lot of sizes for strips, training tops etc, they don't seem to be getting new stock for Christmas.
-
Been wanting to buy a home jersey for a few weeks now, had hoped to buy one this week , they're sold out of my size, and have been told they aren't getting more in, disappointed that I've lost out so early in the season, surely the club should do something about this

If he doesn't want to stay or thinks he is not up to the job do you not think he would just go?
Maybe he is about to chuck it , which would explain why there's been no news on players signing

Find it a little contradictory that the board announced that reducing the playing budget would be a false economy, and at the same time, Erskine is in the Evening Times today saying that he took a significant drop in wages, yet decided to stay at Thistle. I have a sneaking suspicion that the board aren't being quite as honest as their statement suggested, or at least have exaggerated it.
Totally agree, something does not seem right at the moment, the board and management team are hiding the truth, i doubt very much that team rebuilding was underway the next day, as it said in the statement, until i see any interviews done with Beattie or Archie on SKY Sports or STV or BBC television,

Let's see the new strip for next season and the new signings !

The Board of directors need to match their statement of intent when signing players , if we want instant promotion, need to give Archie a substantial budget to bring in quality players
-
There's a big rebuilding job to be be done, what players do you think we should bring to help us win the league?
I suggest Anthony Stokes, Kenny Miller, Willow Flood.

No you're not.
Although there could be legitimate reasons for that.
He could be on a holiday overseas, which irrespective of what happened last week he is well entitled to.
He might have been told by the board to stay the hell out of the media until they make the announcement promised on Monday 'by the end of the week'.
I'm beginning to think, though, that the board may have been premature in promising an announcement without it having been fully in place - hence the silence.
Not gone according to plan obviously, we were told team rebuilding started last Monday, it suggested recruiting was underway, hope we get announcement of new signings over the weekend.

It could just be that they are announcing who is leaving us.
If its team rebuilding should be about people joining

Jim taking over from Ian Maxwell ? Kenny player/coach ?
-
If the rumours are true about Jim Duffy and Kenny Miller joining the club,. It would tie in because , Jim was manager at Hibs and would've brought Kenny through the youth ranks,. Jim and Kenny would have a close friendship.

Was talking to a member of staff at Firhill, there was an emergency board meeting directly after Sunday's game, some staff have left voluntarily, given the meeting was after the game, i would imagine there would have been frantic phonecalls taking place People on here said they saw activity taking place on Monday, Kenny Miller and
Jim Duffy

And any manager would ask what resources are you giving me. So, Paolo, should the board give him a blank cheque ?
The Board have said to Archie we expect promotion in one season or hes offski That's the way it should be, ,
