He has never been convicted of rape in a criminal court. The standard of evidence for a civil case is different and the decision was made by one judge on the balance of probability rather than a jury agreeing beyond reasonable doubt. Can’t help but think that the scenario is maybe not a million miles away from the accusations levelled at ciaran McKenna once upon a time. He said consensual, she said not…..should we punish him forever more too?

And by declaring bankrupt means the victim didn’t receive a penny of her court award but still had the legal expenses
Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good bit of predjudice.. £250k of legal fees is the reason she didn’t get any compensation. Sure the solicitors feathering their nests are not losing any sleep..

Should imagine his contract will be paid up and he'll have little incentive to find another club until season 24/25. By that time he'll be I think 35 year old. Even without the baggage be by then of little interest to any club above Clyde's lowly status.
I sincerely hope not but it could well be the case that Goodwillie walks away with wages paid up in full until June 2024. It's more than possible his agent foresaw all this furore and ensured his contract was watertight. Fingers crossed that ain't the case and Goodwillie (and maybe his agent?) aren't profiting from his notoriety.
Nothing like a good bit of mob rule. Do you want to see him boiled in oil as well? If rovers were silly enough to sign him on a two and a half year contract then that is not his fault

Hopefully McAllister fit for this one. Likely to be McKenna at full back whose strength is not in attacking
-
I’m not defending him, nor condoning what he has done. Val mcdermid’s statement is opinion, not fact as far as I can see.

And has shown no remorse
How do you know?

I do not condone any form of violence whatsoever. I do think however that the reaction to goodwillie signing for Raith is over the top. He was not convicted in a criminal court as there was not enough evidence. He was convicted in a civil court and was fined £100k. That was the punishment given to him by society. He presumably has paid that. If he is remorseful for his actions surely he should then be allowed to get on with his life

Played the pass of the game to win 3 points
Credit where it’s due, was a great pass. More of the same required

Good to get the win but the football was awful. Pitch is horrendous - hard to see how it can stand up to the number of games scheduled this month
-
Grim viewing. Not sure what Crawford brings to the party beyond slowing the play down and some sideways passes
-
Not sure if it’s possible but megginson from cove would be pleasing. Did hear McCall mention him in an interview after we won the league.
-
Rudden obviously wants to continue playing in the championship next year. No great loss. Take what’s offered this month and get another striker in
dundee have lost Cummings and Griffiths this month so will want him in now

Completely agree. Maciver is exceptional in the air. Let’s see what he can do. If we get a decent offer for Rudden, bite their hand off. Sure McCall has one or two lined up to come in
-
I think it’s likely Rudden will move on in this window. Whenever I’ve heard him speaking he’s never given the impression he would be at firhill beyond his current contract, which is fair enough. Undoubtedly there is a player there but in a significant proportion of games he doesn’t contribute enough. Take the cash and re-invest in the team.

Go on the Steelmen's site for more info.
Not sure that holds up as a reliable source! Also the notion that our players don’t or shouldn’t have supported one of the old firm is romantic nonsense.

Stevie Lawless was the most valuable player outwith the Old Firm for Livingston 2 years ago with 8 goals and 6 assists, think Banzo has 6 assists in 10 years !
Apart from Tiff there is no creativity in the team and if he’s not playing well like yesterday we resort to long balls down the channels for Rudden and Graham to chase after .
Would take Stevie Lawless back in a heartbeat, better than anything we’ve got out there just now .
Couldn’t agree more!

Lawless shouldn't be anywhere near this football club - even for training purposes.
Alexander punted him for a very good reason.
Long may he rot in the third row of the Govan stand.
I’m sorry to hear that.
Also sad to think that people can’t make mistakes and be given a second chance -

What do you think Lawless would bring to the team. Who would he replace in the starting line up. What we are lacking, I think, is some steel in the midfield and Lawless definitely doesn’t bring that.
Maybe we do lack a bit of steel in midfield- in recent matches though the problem hasn’t been conceding goals. The team is unbalanced as smith or Turner are shoe horned into the midfield playing on the opposite side from tiffoney. They do not offer width. Our two fullbacks don’t offer much either. If tiffoney is off his game or teams double up on him and Graham has a poor game we don’t have much threat. Rudden will improve but he needs to be far more clinical. So to answer your question I think he’d bring width creativity and goals!

In what way?

Lawless was released by Motherwell surprisingly. Seems still to be a free agent.
We should be driving hastie back to Ibrox and doing what we can to sign lawless.
I think the problem is two fold. First is that the squad, although improved from last season is not as strong as some of the others in the division. Second is that McCall now seems set on playing 442 and we dont have a player equivalent to tiffoney to balance it up on the other side.
-
What I took from today is that we won’t be anywhere close to winning the league. Inverness were significantly better than us. Gardyne, Doran, Walsh and Mackay are quality players at this level and I think caley will be there or there about come the end of the season.
i had been keen to see more of hastie but on that showing I don’t think he’s got any interest in being at firhill. We’ll need a few tweaks to the squad in January to stay in contention for a play off spot.

If Hastie had shown anything like the form we expected of him, I would be wholeheartedly agreeing with you. But he has shown nothing to indicate that he is worthy of (or even wants) a start. Of course I will be absolutely delighted if he proves me totally wrong.
It seems that we currently have 10 players who pick themselves, and it is the right person and the right position for that eleventh player that we are struggling to get right.
Could well be that there is an attitude or confidence issue- only the management team will know. But, he must have ability and to be honest I don’t think he’s had a chance to demonstrate that since he joined on loan
-
I think teams have sussed us a bit since the hamton match. Stop tiffoney and we struggle to create. I’d be in favour of starting hastie in addition to tiffoney and going for it. Especially at home
-
A very comfortable win. That back four looked really solid. Like Akinola, and holt was good at left back. Think the criticism foster gets at times is a little harsh. Although Turner came on when the game was won I thought he looked far more effective in the centre than playing wide. Good to see Hastie get on as well, hopefully he has a lot to offer between now and the end of his loan.

That is not what happened. A quick google search will tell you that, though to be frank I seriously doubt your ability to do even that.
