  1. It's actually Glasgow City in the semi-final on Sunday. Celtic play Hearts in the other semi. We'll clearly be the underdogs on Sunday but we've been competitive with each of the 'big three' at one stage or other this season. If we can take the intensity and belief that we displayed in the quarter-final against Hibs into this game, well you just never know. We didn't go into SWPL1 just to make up the numbers and we're not going to the Falkirk Stadium on Sunday to make up the numbers either.
  2. Beating 8 time winners Hibs, who had contested each of the previous 5 Finals, to reach the semi-final of the Scottish Cup wasn't the only achievement last night.
  3. I'm really looking forward to this game. A cup quarter-final under the Peasy floodlights, what's not to love? Reaching the last four of this tournament would be a phenomenal achievement. With a favourable draw a place in the Final would be a realistic proposition were we to get through. Just think, Partick Thistle in the Final of the Scottish Cup. It will be a hard game tonight. Hibs are a good side. But do you know what, so are we. We beat Hibs the last time they came to Peasy and we've grown as side since then. It's just £7 to get in tonight and Free for kids so why not make it a family Friday night out. These girls are fantastic representatives of our Club. They deserve as much support as possible. C'mon The Jags.
  4. Have had to delete a few posts in this thread. Horrible baseless muck spreading. Thanks to the person that reported them, otherwise they would have been missed. Can I ask a favour, if you see something of that nature. Don't quote them.
  5. I think this interview with Lauren Grant who returned to the team on Sunday after a nasty injury at the start of the season, sums up the group of players perfectly. A real desire to play football. They do a fantastic job in representing our Club.
  6. 11hr plus additional time. The season had already started, albeit the SWPL Cup, when Forfar Farmington announced their senior team wouldn't be able to fulfil their fixtures (they still play at various youth age groups) and we were invited to fill their vacancy in SWPL1. The intent, as I understand it, is that the current season will be played as intended, i.e. bottom of SWPL1 is relegated and top of SWPL2, which will be Dundee United, will be promoted. Second bottom of SWPL1 will play-off against 2nd in SWPL2. Only once those promotion/relegation issues have been played out will the leagues then be restructured. There is a father obvious way how this can happen but we aren't at that stage yet. Btw we play Hibs at Petershill Park on Friday April 1st in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup. Some extra support at that, and all home games, would be very much appreciated.
  7. BBC Scotland at 7pm on Mondays for the BBC's SWPL highlights programme. You can see our highlights from yesterday's, and loads of other matches, game via the Partick Thistle Women's FC youtube channel via the link below: Hearts v Partick Thistle - Match Highlights - 27th February 2022 - YouTube
  8. This is big signing for us. A massive well done to those that managed to get it done.
  9. It's been an exciting time recently for Partick Thistle WFC. Last Sunday's win over Hamilton was huge. Earlier this week we completed the signing of Taylor Fisher from Glasgow City. She's just 19, a striker, and has Champions League experience with Glasgow City. We've another signing to be announced next week and both these girls are players of real calibre and will add a lot to the great group that we already have. We're really progressing as a Club. We've detected a real increase in interest in how we are progressing and our crowds at home games have been on the rise but it would be nice if we had a few more coming along. We've a Scottish Cup tie with Boroughmuir Thistle at Petershill Park on Sunday. This is already the furthest we've progressed in the competition and if we defeat out SWPL2 opponents on Sunday we will be in the last 8. Kick-off at Petershill Park is 12:30pm for a game that will be played to a finish with extra-time and penalties if required. Admission is £7 with kids going Free. If you've ever thought about coming along to cheer us on then Sunday would be the ideal time to do so. Hopefully it will be a double Scottish Cup winning weekend for Thistle.
  10. It's nice to see a wee thread on here about PTWFC. Since our elevation to SWPL1 there's definitely been an uptick in level of interest in their fortunes but we're not really seeing that reflected in our attendances. Just out of curiosity what is there, if anything, that would see a passive interest in the women's team translate into going along to even the occasional game? Genuinely interested to hear people's thoughts and suggestions re this.
  11. Like many, many other people I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bertie Auld. To me, who first went to Firhill in 1977 aged 9, he wasn't Bertie Auld, Lisbon Lion. I was too young to appreciate the significance of that. He was simply the cigar smoking manager of my team. The significance of what he was doing as manager of my team was lost on me too. It's only with the passage of time and the knowledge that comes with age can that be properly put in perspective. He took a part-time Thistle to the top flight. And kept us there. He took us to one League Cup Semi-Final. He took us to two Scottish Cup Semi-Finals. We were cheated in 1979. He took us to the brink of European football. I was gutted when he left. I was just about old enough to appreciate what he had done by then. I loved it when he came back with Hibs and we won 1-0. "Bertie, Bertie what's the score" sang The Shed underlining how wonderfully fickle we football fans are. I hated it when his Hamilton side beat us a few years later. He came back home, just round the corner from his childhood Maryhill home, in 1986 and rescued us from relegation to Scotland's basement league. He should have stayed beyond that but Ken Bates intervened and the club went into near terminal decline. It took John Lambie, cut from the same type of cloth as our Bertie, to rescue our club. Imagine had the two worked together at Firhill. So then farewell Bertie Auld. My first Partick Thistle manager and 44 years on still among the very best. Partick Thistle Legend. He will never be forgotten.
  12. Yes it was. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-fixture/kelty-hearts-v-partick-thistle-26th-june-2021/
  13. I can't see any sign of your original post. Or of it being deleted via any moderator action. Can't say that I'm personally very keen on Taylor's view on things and disagree entirely with his views on BLM but his comments strike me as a legitimate subject for debate. Providing everyone can vere away from the type of comment that has already prompted one post to be reported and subsequently deleted.
  14. I don't think a club(s) should be punished if a player contracts Covid-19 and as a consequence can't fulfil a fixture providing they can demonstrate that all appropriate protocols were followed. A club(s) should be punished, however, if they are unable to fulfil a fixture due to breaches in Covid protocol by their player(s) irrespective of whether any player(s) subsequently contracts Covid-19 or not. It's not unreasonable to expect clubs to be responsible for the actions of their players.
  15. There might be value in everyone drawing breath for a second. Woodstock Jag is not responsible for Thistle sitting bottom of the league when the league was called. He's not responsible for the failure to reconstruct the leagues, the failure to win in the Court of Session or the fact that arbitration didn't go our way. He stated, forcefully and repeatedly (boy did he repeat his view) that our legal approach was destined to fail. He was proven right. A lot of the anger right now is misplaced in his direction. Meantime Woodstock Jag could perhaps give thought to how he is coming across right now. Is this the right place and time for this apparent level of triumphalism? That might be the reason for the vitriol coming his way.
  16. Any excuse to post some classic Harrison.
  17. Yeah, so everyone could try and stay away from anything that could possibly be considered defamatory that would be nice. Cheers.
  18. It's great that so many people felt that they could forego the offer a refund on their season tickets but nobody should be criticised for accepting the offer. Thread Locked.
  19. Now done. Let me know if you want to changed back.

    Zero Tolerance

As is the case with discussion sites things can become heated at times. Inevitably there will be personality clashes. Such is life Over the course of the last few months, however, a number of Reports have been made to Admin that have been, IMO, threatening in nature. There has been a further couple over the last 24 hours which is what has prompted this post. For the avoidance of doubt zero tolerance will be exhibited towards a repeat. On a similar, and not unrelated, subject there has been repeated references to Personal Messages of unsavoury nature being sent. The very nature of Personal Messages makes it extremely difficult to corroborate their existence. Again for the avoidance of doubt zero tolerance will be exhibited to anyone who is demonstrated to have sent such messages. Equally zero tolerance will be exhibited to anyone who can be demonstrated to have made false accusation of the above. In the meantime please continue to debate the affairs of Partick Thistle, on and off the pitch, with the same vigour and passion that you always have. Try and do it in as civil a manner as you can but above all else please be mindful of the above. Thanks for reading.
  21. I could check registered email addresses and IP addresses if I had the inclination to do so. I don't. To be clear I find the desire to provide an actual name to an internet pseudonym quite unsettling and I'm aware that you know who I am. Personally I'd prefer if we all posted under our actual names but that's not the nature of the beast on these kind of things. I'm as 'guilty' as others in that respect. I'd much prefer that people didn't have multiple logins, if indeed they do, but provided they stay within acceptable limits then as strange as having multiple user names is then I'm relatively relaxed about it. Each to their own. What I have a degree of difficulty about is people trying to 'out' posters. To be absolutely clear if we are happy for people to post under pseudonyms, and we clearly are, then I will protect anyone's desire for anonymity provided they follow the fairly relaxed rules of the forum. Regardless of what any given poster's position is on any given subject I refuse to indulge any conspiracy theory. Your request has been useful as it has provided me with a opportunity to draw attention to something. Any attempt to try and provide a name to an otherwise anonymous account will be viewed less than favourably. I'd urge posters to post under one user name and one user name only but I will not get embroiled in dealing with accusations of people posting under multiple user names. I have zero knowledge of anyone actually doing so and I'd rather not have to spend time investigating that further. It's that kind of thing that makes me more and more inclined to delete this forum altogether.
  22. There might be space behind the 5 aside pitches. Basically where the old Petershill Park pitch was. No idea of the logistics involved in turning that but of ground into a decent standard of training pitch. Or whether Petershill Park is even an option being explored.

This thread will now be locked. Had my holiday interrupted, again, this time from a poster making a threat against this site all because a few individuals can't stop acting like fannies.
