  1. Just adding presume it is Kieran Ngwenya - we were previous linked but never quite completed the signing.
  2. McInroy would definitely be a decent signing Also presume same left back linked a few months ago.
  3. Have to say we were out battled most of today, seemed quite happy to sit back deep. Didn’t think anyone was particularly impressive. Wasiri looks very raw, some good battles but some mistakes too. Lyon was probably the only one who impressed and he was only on the park a short period of time. Extremely average but it’s early days yet. We probably need another 2/3 bodies in before season starts. Also, I may be wrong but pretty sure Ben’s top said Staway instead of Stanway…
  4. Sold out in every size over xl, next delivery late July. Quite intrigued if we have sold loads or just initial stocks were low.
  5. Not sure if it applies to our level but remember reading somewhere clubs take between 7.5%-10% on average dependent on their agreements. I think Liverpool are the exception with 20% from Nike. So in really probably talking £5 per shirt... so not much
  6. I wonder if the club would consider package tickets a bit further down the line. Yes I understand season tickets are there, or individual game basis but not everyone is in a position to afford a season ticket or attend every game. I just wonder if they were to sell a 10 game bundle at say £200, its guaranteed income for the club that they might otherwise miss out on. Could also add 5 game bundle for £100. The incentive would be saving a little but making that commitment help the club with money upfront. Personally with work commitments I can't attend every week and would happily pay for a 10 match bundle which credits me 10 matches throughout the season.
  7. Unfortunately she was at the Ayr away playoff sitting not too far from me. Don't think she will be welcome back anytime soon
  8. We would have earned almost £1million more finishing 12th in top division as opposed to 4th in our league. I've attached this season's prize money to show how much it has cost us. Firstly by drawing on the final day instead of securing 2nd place it cost us £180k. Secondly by missing out on promotion, even if we win next season's championship we would still earn some £600k less than the team coming down. I would say we are looking at a budget of around £400-500k for next season looking at these numbers; and that includes operational costs. Whereas last season with the loss of £280k it would have been closer to £800-900k if my maths are right. So your talking budget being at least halved. *Edited to take into account sponsorships etc income
  9. Honestly, Tiff leaving is a blow, but compared to making a loss of £280k its nothing. Its going to take a huge rallying effort to make up for this loss. Would actually quite like to see a few of the younger plays involved next season; keeps the budget down and gives opportunity to lads who are young and hungry.
  10. Whether he had an injury or not doesn't matter, it was a negative change. Could have brought on a number of players including Mullen at that point but he chose to go defensive which backfired in under a minute. I am not singling out Bannigan, I was actually just more pointing out at Firhill during the Queen's Park 4-3 game we made the exact same mistake. Brought on Hodson - went defensive lost a quickfire goal and then the shape went. It was working when playing more offensively in both games, and ultimately we got punished for it in both games. Personally I just felt going more defensive wasn't one of our strengths. That being said; we created more than enough chances to win the game in extra time once we settled down again.
  11. Ultimately not good enough, said the minute we took off Fitzpatrick for Bannigan we were being too negative. We then lost a second within a minute and from that point you've brought on a defensive midfielder to defend a one goal lead having withdrawn an attacker. Going to be a hard slog next season but lets see where it takes us. In Dools we trust
  12. I was thinking this; busy up until kick off time; was hoping for a few pubs with a Jags takeover
  13. After a JL stand ticket if anyone can help out? My mates bought his ticket for JHS and the rest of us over in JL so were hoping to sit together. DM me if anyone has a spare (Adult ticket)
  14. I really hope its Killie from a selfish perspective as I really want to go to both games. Afraid if its County I'll be priced out of it; especially with 2 games in space of 4 days, all that additional travel cost would probably just be too much in a week. Anyway; football wise, I didn't think we should fear anyone. Playing with some real confidence right now and tonight could have been 7/8... Fantastic performance again by the team.
  15. Have to say really enjoyed yesterday despite the ref doing everything in his power to give Raith every decision. Thought I may have been biased until I rewatched the highlights on YouTube and its quite poor from the ref, first Tiffoney is fouled in the box no pen, second the Raith player miscues his kick after being kicked about 5 yards out the box and falls over and the ref gives a pen Despite that, thought McAvoy, Bannigan, Lawless and Tiffoney were all outstanding, the rest all playing well too, with a special mention to Mitchell for a solid performance as well as a much deserved clean sheet. Took my niece along for her first Thistle experience and she was delighted and asked to go back.
  16. The most interesting aspect from this seems that some fans feel like they should have had a say. Unfortunately we have still have some way to go to restoring trust and due process at the club and the timing of the statement was not ideal. With regards to statements not being signed off by Individuals or names; I believe we are stuck between a rock and a hard place - if the individuals put their names down they will be attacked over social media and other sources whereas when they don't its presumed those individuals are responsible anyway. This isn't in any way helpful and we need to take a step back and just learn from this going forward.
  17. I think people are maybe over reacting a little here. The decision was very poorly timed, but overall based on how we have played the best part of 3 months we have been going backwards. You can blame injuries or whatever else, but the reality is - that's why you build a squad and it's quite obvious that there are people who are at Firhill who are not good enough, these guys brought here by McCall. With regards to McCall & co being relieved of their duties, there are always going to be those who agree and disagree, thats football. McCall has done 2 impressive stints at the club, the latter being the best in my eyes rejuvenating the club, the fanbase and delivering a title - restoring some passion and pride. The reality is 3 months ago we were 1st, now we are 5th. We just lost two home games against two teams in relegation trouble who have struggled to take points of anyone else recently. I don't think Doolan had much choice about stepping up, and he's not stabbed McCall in the back or anything. He's contracted by the club and when they ask him to do a job he's expected to do it. Just like any other business. So lets get behind the team, and Dools going forward and if people want to thank McCall I'm sure we will have plenty of time to do that, and show we appreciate everything they done for us. I would personally like to thank McCall, Archie and Scally for their services over the past few years and I will always appreciate them for restoring pride in our club and sticking by us during a very torrid time off the park with the power struggle with the board. Whether you agree or disagree with the decision you have the right to be heard, lets refrain from dreaming up scenarios and rumours that are damaging to our club.
  18. Believe its the right decision but the timing is a bit bewildering to be honest. McCall is currently out and about in full jags gear
  19. Just wanted to post to say thank you to TJF for all their hard work and constant communication. Would love to be able to put the same into it myself, but I've neither the time nor the will if truth be told. I'll continue to back as a member and hope that all plays out in a favourable result. Keep flying the flag for the rest of us!
  20. Another reason our academy will never develop a steady flow of first team players is the competition for the academy. Unfortunately we aren't even 4th best in the area that teams pick up players, we already sit behind Rangers, Celtic and Queens Park in that regard, with competition coming from Motherwell and Hamilton... However what I would say is the Colin Weir money allowed us to make great strides in catching our academy up, unfortunately that money has dried up so the academy now needs to become self-sufficient and the slow down of progress will continue because of the high level of competition.
  21. Loans out and loans in are part and parcel of the game. Both Rangers youngsters we have signed are highly rated prospects, even if they don't go on to play for Rangers I'd imagine they'll still play a higher level than Scottish Championship football. As for our boys, we can only trust the management to decide whether they are good enough, there's been several youngsters over the years who have disappeared into junior leagues or out the game altogether. Infact I think only Nesbit & Hendry are now playing at a higher level, the rest pretty much gone, a few like Ricky Little etc who has been through the leagues. Loans don't always work, we've had some absolutely shocking loans, look no further than last season for proof of that. And as for Rangers youngsters, they are very much hit and miss when they are young but again, a lot of their former youngsters find themselves playing at a higher level than Thistle, take Naismith for example, not the greatest of loan spells at Thistle and he's went onto greener pastures. I guess its all about luck and finding the right fit, but realistically speaking are they better than our youngsters - yes, they are. Whether that be through better coaching or just playing at a higher level with their academy these guys are expected to do something with their career. I mean I seem to remember Lucas Akins really struggling at us, only to bang the goals in down south at Championship and League 1 level. I don't ever remember us being lucky with loans... But maybe those tables will turn.
  22. I wouldn't be against that as an "extra" kit that we sell on Greaves if people wish to buy it, but for the first team to wear and run out in that would be extremely embarrassing.
  23. Crawford for me has to go.3 Wins from 15 Starts. From games he didn't start, 3 Wins in 5. Not solely blaming Crawford but he just doesn't fit into our team.
  24. Got told from a mate that he's off to West Ham this summer. No idea if true, but would sound about right for our youth system.
  25. Good chance we will be signing a left back. My understanding is Hendrie has been offered a deal from Queen's Park, so would guess he will likely be the one on the way out.
