  1. Looks like a training top
  2. Personally, the solution which should have occurred was simply extending last season into this season. They are complaining about tight schedules, and if any games get called off its going to be impossible to reschedule... Last season was never complete, Dundee Utd, Raith, Cove have zero right to be promoted, nor Celtic win the title. They certainly have no more right than our battle to stay where we were in the Championship. Dont know why we couldnt just play an extended league over two seasons, with say 54 games instead of ironically (54 games over two seasons - 27 game seasons....) Just seems really silly.
  3. Lyons will also add goals to the team . Realistically speaking we are likely to trim our squad too. I'd be surprised if we make many signings... A goalkeeper or go with Scullion as Sneddons backup? A couple of defenders to replace outgoing guys. 1, possibly 2 midfielders depending on Cardle staying or going... Personally speaking I'd love to go with Scullion, Rodden, Renfrew and Watson all stepping up and Sena coming back too. Sign maybe. One defender, one midfielder - possible loans? I'd take Lewis Mayo back, and Kai Kennedy from Rangers looks a huge talent... In terms of signings I'd take a chance on former jag Ross Meechan at right back as hes proven at this level - but would likely involve a fee. Possible freebies include the likes of Rohan Ferguson, Rico Quitongo, Adam Livingstone, Richard Foster, Steven Anderson, Carl Tremarco, Tom Beadling, Danny Swanson, Cole Starrs I'd prefer us to go down the option of youth with maybe one older head... But honestly wouldn't be surprised if there's less than 5 signings this summer.
  4. Do the SPFL board not have the power to force reconstruction? I'm pretty sure I read a while back they did but Doncaster refused to do it.
  5. If extending until end of July under furlough scheme and giving them the 80% government paying and there's no cost to us I'd like to see us do this.
  6. As much as I disagree with us being relegated, I really just can't wait to go to Firhill at the next opportunity and cheer on whoever is playing for us in whatever division we are in. Just miss the place.
  7. Requires an 11-1 vote in SPFL for it to go through next season.
  8. Only league reconstruction I can see happening is 12 team premiership 12 team championship.
  9. Follow GAA, and have worn quite a few of their kits. It's better than what we have. So at least thats a start!
  10. Personally I don't want either. What's wrong with the club running as it is? Are they all really desperate for their money? Everyone says how much Colin done for the club with no personal gain. Yes he took no money from the club and put lots in, our youth has flourished but don't forget he was responsible for Jacqui and her board which in little over 12 months have caused the club to lose its identity. We still have no training ground, despite it being promised too. As for Chien Lee and Paul Conway, we don't really know enough about them. The way they are running Barnsley is interesting but absolutely nothing to say we will be run the same way.
  11. If nothing else this thread provides a good chuckle. Cheers all keep it up
  12. New statement doesnt say too much
  13. Ironically the board are being criticised for being proactive and making sure we are not going to run at a loss this season. Whether its buses, transfer budgets or anything else that needs cut, I would much rather our club continues to run with no losses and continue to exist. Everyone is taking the negatives which is fair enough but ask yourself would you rather have a club balancing the books or a team bus with no team, a transfer budget with no future, a training ground with no club? Stay positive, who knows what is really going on at our club, but everyone coming up with rumours is just going to damage the club more.
  14. Maybe I'm wrong but. There is absolutely nothing to stop someone else bidding for control of the club. Maybe Mr Weir enjoyed pumping money into the club without vested interest but whats to stop him or any other individual or consortium putting in a competing bid. Especially if new city were to walk away... It would have been better if all this could have been done in private much like the hibs deal. Like most fans concerned until we get our stability back but whether it's new city, weir or some other punter ill still be back supporting the jags.
  15. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49255075 For two games which are fairly local. Can't really see a problem with this.
  16. Is it just me or has there been a lack of press coverage at Firhill recently? In fact- I dont think I've read a single Partick Thistle article this week in any newspaper, and that includes today when the season starts tomorrow. Makes me wonder if there really isnt anything to write about, or the club is purposely keeping the press away whilst Boardroom / Takeover is discussed. Surely we are worth at least 1 news story per week!
  17. Talking about Caldwell's sideline coaching. He actually was the only one aware at a corner late on. He shouted telling Cammy Palmer to go and he turned got the ball and had a free shot on goal. Positive impact from that particular shout.
  18. Have to say wasn't a great game by any standards but what worries me is how we switch off so easily, especially when we let the other team have so much possession (part of the tactics from what I can see) Also, when are we going to get someone that actually does the dirty work. Every single team we play bully us because they have one or two players not afraid to be a dirty player. Meanwhile half the time we look afraid to tackle or challenge people. Queens bullied us the second half because they made it a physical game, and our guys just took it without a single retaliation. Hard to judge do early on, but it looks like the same problems as last year, not enough going forward and not enough in defence. Time will tell I suppose and ill happily admit to being wrong if they can prove me wrong!
  19. Pretty sure this will be used by the development squad given we ain't playing reserve football this season.
  20. This threads hilarious. Far too much negativity over something which hasn't even happened yet. Even if it does go through, give them a chance. The last 24 months as a Jags fan have been some of the worst both on and off the pitch in over a decade. It would be nice to move on from that. If it goes through it goes through, If it doesn't then we move on. Enough with the knicker wetting until there is actually something worth getting worked up over!
  21. Interesting development
  22. It would appear not! Nah I've not at all, had a quick browse to see if a separate thread but couldn't see one!
  23. Looks like Liam is getting a move, £2mil+ bid accepted by Barnsley from Stoke. Rumour is we stand to earn at least another £250k from it. Nice little earner when we need it. Good luck to Liam, personally think he will go on to play at an even higher level.
