  1. Generally we sell 300 copies per issue which is fine but we would like to sell a few more. Fritz and I realise that maybe some people have never read a copy of the fanzine and have no idea what it is about or maybe you haven't read one in a while. We believe that the fanzine's content has been getting stronger and would like to offer everyone a chance to read it. If you are interested, please pm with your details and I will post a random copy out to you. Alternatively, you can send me an email if you wish to keep your Forum id anonymous. Contact me at [email protected] Copies will be sent out second class so give it a few days to get to you. You can also contact me if you have article you wish to submit. Cheers
  2. Yes, the legendary issue that made a fleeting appearance at Firhill on October 4th before our esteemed or is it steaming Editor had to make a hasty back to the institution without walls that is East Kilbride is now available. I have just returned from a North Atlantic cruise via the rough seas of the Bay of Biscay, where I was not only Sick in the Basin but also in any receptacle that was handy. Today I was able to get my hands on some copies and have listed them on ebay. However, as usual you can buy direct from me using Paypal. Price is £2 and £1 postage. Issues 2-8 are available at £1.00 each and will be posted for 30p extra in total. Issue one remains a collectors item and as yet hasn't been reprinted. Also available is the Scotland fanzine Scotland Epistles, Bullshit & Thistles, just pm for further details if you need them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SICK-IN-THE-BASIN-9-PARTICK-THISTLE-FANZINE-OCTOBER-2014-/381024230982?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
  3. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water . . . like a bad smell we will return. Although we had hoped for an opening day of the season issue due to the Commonwealth Games there has to be a delay. Well, not really the Commonwealth games but a sporting injury of sorts. Our much maligned Editor in Chief i.e. Alex Frew aka Fritz has a had a lot of bad luck over the summer. First of all, he had a heart attack, possibly action delayed from the events of the last few weeks of the season or perhaps all that drinking and general carousing got to him. Anyhow, he has been recovering since but further to this came the sporting injury. Well, that's what he's claiming. After a day of indulging in the gentle sport of fishing and perhaps a beer or two, Mr. Frew whilst walking through a dark alley of East Kilbride, decided to fall over a loose spar in some railings, resulting in a rather nasty fall incurring injuries to his face, his ribs and apparently his glasses, which would suggest a new prescription is needed. And of course, anybody who has asked him about him his computer knows it's not working to full capacity. He has been waiting ages to get it fixed. Anyhoo, all this and more has led to a delay in getting a fanzine out there. We are hoping for a August 23rd issue. So any contributions would be welcome. Fritz has also promised from now on the fanzine will be politics free zone. (Not sure how long that will last). You may remember we had hoped to get the first issue reprinted, however due to all of the above or laziness or indeed cash flow problems this has not been possible. What is now possible is to buy all the other issues i.e 2 - 8 at the reduced price of £1 with postage at £1, with an extra 30p for up to 7 issues. Overseas buyers please pm for details as should anyone else who wants a copy. Okay, if that wasn't enough to be getting on with. I did post over the summer that a Scotland fanzine will be on it's way. It is now with the printers and is a bumper 48 page edition and will look more like a programme than SITB. This has contributions from Robert Marshall, myself and Alan Nelson all from SITB and some others from around the country also. Further details will follow.
  4. With the ripple of enthusiasm that is slowly gripping the nation at the possibility of a Scotland team able to progress further than qualification rounds to a major finals next season, It is with great pleasure I am announcing that from the makers of Sick In The Basin, there will be a fanzine totally devoted to Scotland coming out on September 1st prior to the start of the Euro 16 qualifiers, which will be bigger and bolder than the SITB. It is the brainchild of Robert Marshall and myself with contributions from Alan Nelson and perhaps Alex Frew if he can get his finger out and write it. There is also going to be some stuff from a couple of Hearts fans and a Buddie. Fritz will not be editing it, so there will be no underlying Yes campaign involved. Hopefully people will find it interesting and quite funny too. We would hope to publish twice per season around the time of the qualifiers. However, we are struggling with a name as we are trying to get away from the cute and cuddly image of the Tartan Army At the moment we are toying with Scotland Epistles, Bullshit and Thistles. However, there have also been some others we have pondered on. I am looking for your opinions on names or indeed original ones you come up with. The other suggestions so far are: 1 We Still Have A Dream 2 Lie Back and Think of Scotland 3 When you Hear the noise 4 Deep Fried Scotland 5 Brigadoon, My Arse 6 What's the Hampden? 7 Enjoy the Game! 8 The ******* Sons of Ally McLeod 9 Do We Have The Bottle 10 Ma Baws Are Itchy. (That's one of mine, the idea of being outside of Hampden shouting Ma Baws Are Itchy appeals to my sense of humour and of course works well with issue 2) Given the amount of puns and wordplay on the forum I'm sure people can come up with better. If someone does then they will be among the first to get a hold of a copy. One last thing if anyone wants to write an article for it please let me know.
  5. Yep, folks they said it couldn't be done, some said it shouldn't and others just couldn't care less but another collections of ramblings and mind blowing Jagtastic things have been put together at SITB central and is now on sale, cunningly named #7. It will be on sale tonight around the ground, probably not in the North stand though, but keep an eye out for the usual dodgy guy at the bottom end of the South Drive and myself, the acceptable face of SITB at the JHS turnstiles and in the concourse at half time. As usual it is on sale on eBay as are issues 2,4,5,6. #3 is out of stock at the moment but we are trying to track some copies. My suspicion is; they're in the First Bus lost property office after being left on 18 bus to EK by some inebriated soul. You can pm me also and pay straight to myself via Paypal , personal cheques and Postal Orders would also be acceptable. 6. Spurred on by a request last month for PTFC TV I wrote this piece for #5 of SITB. Anybody who wants to make similar suggestions please do and I might collate them for a future issue. EXCLUSIVE SITB TO LAUNCH TV CHANNEL! After months of negotiations, SITB can finally reveal that a channel devoted to Partick Thistle and all things Jagtastic is to be launched on April 1st this year. This channel will be available on subscription and can be found on Vergin ch 1876, Skee ch 1921 and Feeview ch 1971. Programmes will be transmitted from 6pm to 12 midnight. A spokesman for SITB was too drunk to comment but we can reveal the line up for the opening night. 6pm. Life on the Bing. Children’s animation about two gnomes Ricky and Chico living on the bing at Firhill. In this first episode Ricky falls foul of the ‘elf and safety committee, while Chico fights it out with the evil goblin twins Tim and Billy and gives them a bit of a doing. 6.20pm. Mary fae Maryhill. In this episode Mary has to save the world from destruction whilst staving off admirers in red and yellow who want to pump her. 6.30pm. The Story so Far. All the goals from the season so far including too many for the feckin’ opposition, as a bonus John Baird’s goal against Gateshead will get a rare showing as is any Baird goal. 7.00pm. Jags news. However, being an equal opportunity channel other teams will get a slagging too. 8.00pm. Erskine on the Tay. An in depth documentary on Chris Erskine’s success at Tannidice. 8.01pm. Join team captains Chic Charnley and Mad Mental Martin Hardie in this comedy panel game with guest comedians. We guarantee this will be a John (what a ******) Bishop free zone. 9pm. The Champions. All the highs , all the lows and all those goals. Not available on DVD. 11pm. Maryhill Horror Story. A look back at the dark period in Thistle history when we were managed by ‘Dick’ Dick Campbell. 7. I know it's only a few weeks since issue 4 hit the newstands but the next issue is out tomorrow and will be on sale outside the game at St. Mirren. Unfortunately I do not as yet have a copy nor will I be at the game tomorrow, so can't give you too many details but I believe Chris Erskine is on the front cover. As to the rest of it, there is news on the exciting launch of SITB TV giving details of the opening night line-up. As always thanks for your support, I hope to have copies early next week and will list details of how to get a copy posted out to you. Cheers.
  8. I have been reliably been informed by Fritz that issue 4 will be on sale tomorrow. Don't have too much details on it's contents but hope to post more after I get a hold of a copy tomorrow evening. As before I will sell it online and will post details on that tomorrow too. No doubt it will be on sale at the Star and Garter before the game and around the ground beforehand. Thanks to all that have bought copies of previous issues, we appreciate your support and indeed to those who have submitted articles too.
