The foul conceded would have been a red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity from about a season after that game until about 2 years ago when the "double jeopardy" rule stopped. Not sure it would have made a difference to the end result though! Edited September 24, 2019 by Ancipital

Jaggernaut
An original b & w photo, and its colourized version here. Probably the Hibs player is the most recognizable.
thisal
Is the Hibs player Willie Ormond?

paralytic thistle
No, it's Willie Smith
a f kincaid
If it's Smith, Kerr, Ormond, Mathers then it could be any one of three. Â (Assuming that it's Firhill. When was the shed built?) 31/3/1956 Â Â 1-1 Â league. Â Â Â Smith, Kerr, Gibb, Harvey, DAVIDSON, Mathers, MacKenzie, Wright, Sharp, Ewing, Walker 18/8/1956 Â Â 4-1 Â League Cup. Â Smith, Kerr, Gibb, Harvey, DAVIDSON, Mathers, MacKenzie, WRIGHT, SMITH (2), Crowe, Walker 17/11/1956 Â 3-0 Â Â League. a f kincaid
Andy Roxburgh and Billy Ritchie? If so then Roxburgh only played 1 game v Rangers at Firhill. 11 Sept 1965 in a 1-1 draw. Roxburgh got the goal.
ARu-Strathbungo
That looks like too much hair for Billy Richie, but around that time there was a RFC goalkeeper called Norrie Martin?
a f kincaid
You could be right ARU but in that case it can't be Roxburgh. Ritchie played in all three games I mentioned.
ARu-Strathbungo
I wonder if the GK is from RFC? Did they not always play in the black and red socks? After a look on Google, I will answer my own question ….. no  So it could be a RFC GK Edited September 28, 2019 by ARu-Strathbungo clarification

stuthejag
Yeah it's Jimmy Bone & (future Thistle reserve keeper) Norrie Martin. Martin signed in Oct 1970. Â Â Â
a f kincaid
Still not convinced it's Martin.  Would respectfully suggest it's not Bone in a million years! Roxburgh all day long. Haircut and sunken cheeks are a giveaway (IMHO).
