Meister Jag
In a similar vein, it will also be interesting also to see how the Tory vote held up in Scotland. From memory, I'm pretty sure they pulled in 220k or thereabouts last time around; which suggests that there could still be a few out there... but, again, for no reward! To be pedantic... Just been PM'd by a forum member who points out that the 2010 Conservative vote was actually 412,855 and this year it is: 434,097! Think the point my friend, fellow Jags fan so a friend to the end, is making is that there are still quite a few Tories left in Scotland. The SNP vote in 2010 was 491,386; so arguably not much between the Cons and the SNP; but how that has changed, 1.45m is quite a large vote! Mediocre Pundit
On the Tory vote it's interesting that it held up in spite of rumoured "tactical voting" - given that most Tory voters know the vote is wasted when they cast it. The UK should copy what Holyrood does - much better for electoral enfranchisement, even if it would mean some more people I don't like would get into parliament too... soulful_jag
The Tory vote does hold up pretty well at roughly 16% immaterial of anything else. Looks like the tactical voters didn't bother and the slight rise in numbers for Tories is down to the increased number of people voting, but most of the new/returning voters were clearly for SNP. Some kind of PR system would be good, except for the UKIP MP's we'd end up with, but hey, that's democracy for you. All the current system does is guarantee one of two winners. Roque
why? Well, for General Elections it is, because in the FPTP system their vote is always going to be rendered pointless in constituencies which they can't win. Seems to be about 15-20% of Scotland vote Tories most years, but they never have the seats to show for it. And get it right up them.
Dark Passenger
Was she holding a Jags scarf there? A tartan scarf that previously belonged to Margo MacDonald gifted to her by Margo's daughter.

Guy Incognito
'Oor Mhairi' last weekend: Looks like she was in the north stand. I did wonder if her love for the Jags might have a detrimental effect on her chances in Paisley, but luckily it didn't.

Although the total number of votes the Tories did go up their share of the vote went down to 14.9% as turnout was much higher In fact it is their lowest share of the vote ever in a general election in Scotland .....shame:)

Members Willjag
THREAD RESET! Genuinely think that the wrong end of the stick has been grasped here and it's a bit of a puzzle as to how best to resolve it! So for now I've hidden around 20 posts. Some probably won't make it back in any case no matter what.

But did he wear a "Thistle bunnet, with..." expletives avoided in the interests of avoiding mentioning the east end paramilitaries and their neanderthal mates. Maybe it was the bunnet that did the trick!
Members Willjag
I for one think it inexcusable that you've all written off the Liberal Democrats in East Renfrewshire. ThickAsThieves
O'Hara's a massive Celtic fan. Edited a fanzine at one point, I'm sure. Also used the three lettered H word to describe Rangers fans on a Celtic forum many years ago. Edited May 11, 2015 by ThickAsThieves
