Not our problem of course but what a weird decision. Surely if a player is out of order you fine him. The more out of order the heavier the fine or you sack the guy for breach of contract. You don't deprive yourself of his services. That's like fining yourself.

OK, Barton's not being doing much more than picking up his wage packet but it still appears from outside to be plain daft suspending him. He'll no doubt in time be picking up a suspension or two from the normal sources anyway.

I hope Barton sues for wrongful dismissal and extracts £2m from Sevco.

There was always a stench from the Oldco that has been recycled through sewers and is seeping out again through every pore at Murray Park. There is no light pouring out and Barton has now discovered this.

It looks like SFA and Rangers are colluding for financial gain (not for the first time) with Barton being investigated for betting on a match which took place less than a week ago. The more things change......

STV news reporting that the SFA are investigating him for betting on the Barcelona vs Celtic game, you would think players would know the rules by now!

Are the rules in England and Scotland not different ?

In Scotland it is any game - but in England, I think that it is only games you can influence. I may be wrong.

From the PFA website .... "Put simply the main message for players is: 'You are not allowed to place ANY bet on ANY football, ANYWHERE.'"

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/joey-barton-probed-sfa-over-8872350

a red flag was raised by bookmakers last week after a bet was placed on Celtic to suffer a heavy defeat in the Nou Camp.

It’s alleged the wager – for Celtic to lose by at least three goals – was placed on Barton’s personal account with bookies Betfair

thick chunt

Between his suspension by sevco, newspaper reports of betting, and now the "exclusive" that he really wanted to sign for Celtic, it looks like a concerted effort to get him ditched. Now, might that horrible club and their cronies in the press be colluding in some way....? Let's just say that stranger things might have happened on this wee planet.
