I think all the punnery just shows how starved we are of information and how desperately we need news of some sort to discuss.

The Jagzone has an interview with Devine and this is the first of any footballing info since last weekend. Not that he says much but it's better than nothing.

Roll on Saturday.

Deffo think we dodged a bullet not getting Simon Murray, again he looked really poor tonight. Typical Acrhie striker huffing and puffing with no end product...we dodged a bullet there! He will of course score against us no doubt haha

still think Murray will get more goals than guys like Azeez, Pogba and Jim Hamilton

In fact has Murray not scored already

To have had our best season in 30-odd years and only lose one (maybe two?) players who we'd like to have kept, and then for money, is good going.

Decent young players coming through and hopefully money set aside for a couple of decent signings. We're in a good place.

Only really only lost/sold Liam Lindsay and the rest were released (or we were delighted to receive undisclosed fee).

We're stronger with Banzo, Keown, Spittal, Fraser & (presumably) Sneddon as we'd effectively lost Banzo a year ago and we never really had Keown.

Spittal looks like a belter of a signing alongside Erskine and Lawless.

On Spittal, I know that he scored that cracking free-kick against St. Mirren, but was that a fluke or does he look like a dead ball specialist ? Does he also take corners ?

I think that the set piece was a department where we were lacking and if we are now a threat with Spittal then it is a double bonus. We might get goals from free-kicks and teams might be more hesitant about giving away fouls in dangerous areas.

Yesterday Ross county signed billy McKay on a free from Wigan. Would have definitely taken him. proven goalscorer and would definitely take him over storey. Any more news on him? Don't think we can go into this season with our second striker as nisbet?

Don't worry. Storey is just a smokescreen. I have it on good authority that Neymar has been spotted on Maryhill Road.

We need strength and pace, maybe even height too. Plus Archie doesn't favour signing older players and McKay would've been in his thirties by the time a 2yr contract was up. Storey seems to me worth a punt but I'm sure there's others out there we're looking at. Possibly a striker who can also play down the left side.

Dash it. I was going to suggest Dougie Somner.
