Knightswood Jag
I'm starting this thread for the daily news of politics that we want to discuss. There are separate threads for big political issues like Indy refs and referendums of any other kind.
Jaggernaut
I'll just make a general comment about how low politics seems to have fallen (or maybe I'm naive, and it's always been like that). But now it seems you can deliberately spread lies instead of dealing in facts, or lie about political opponents, often helped by a compliant media, and it all gets forgotten when the next lie appears. I've more or less stopped reading most political "stories" in newspapers, because that's too often what they are: stories entirely made up by biased journalists. "The Herald is led to believe...." "An unnamed spokesperson suggested off the record that....." All drivel.

Jaggernaut
Hope everybody enjoys the match today. Here in Japan my day started with email message from work instructing us about alerts on our mobile phones in the event of a missile attack by North Korea, followed by instructions about where to take shelter, etc. Kind of brings it all a wee bit more into perspective. Whatever, I'll be following the live scores with a couple of these: Edited September 30, 2017 by Jaggernaut
Rid Skwerr
Never mind nuclear threats, spare a thought for us locals - we've got to go to Motherwell today! :-) Seriously, though, it can't be much fun being that close to the loonie-in-chief. Keep safe.
