Charlie Endell
Simple Minds - I've heard their early stuff is quite good but they can never be forgiven for the overblown stadium pash of the mid 80s - 'Don't You Forget About Me' - if only I could! Â Honourable mentions must go to U2, Runrig (Lord am I embarrassed that they're Scottish), Hue & Cry (probably 99% of Scottish bands if I'm honest) and Dire Straits - the 80s were simply horrific - shoite music and even shoiter clobber (glittery jackets with rolled-up sleeves, soft slip-ons worn with no socks etc.)

Blackpool Jags
Hall & Oates. "Your kiss in on my lips" was bordering on criminal and had they been British and not American I would most certainly have been on the blower to my local Constabulary. mrD
First couple of UB40 albums were pretty decent, but that doesn't forgive the last twenty-odd years of dire reggaoke. Â I detest the following: Queen, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Stereophonics. If had to pick one it would probably be RHCP.
