Z88
So the postponed Celtic game due 25th Nov is now Weds 20th Dec giving us 8 games in December. Total nonsense.
elevenone
Yep a farce. 2 games in November and 8 in December. Also means if attending the Dec games you would shelling out best part of £200 for entries alone in Xmas month. But who cares about the fans? Certainly not the ones running the game. Mr Bunny
Some fans moan about how Rangers for instance are given easy fixtures at key times to give them a boost. No one ever mentions how a club like us has it made really difficult by the fixtures we get. Losing - as many managers have said - can become a habit and a run of hard fixtures can demoralise a team - not to mention having to play twice a week for a month. CCjag
Yet another manifestation of the football mantra that the customer is always ……..irrelevant! There can be no other business where the people who actually turn up to watch (effectively buy) the product are treated with such contempt! The most expensive time of year for families, the most difficult time of year in terms of competing attractions/commitments - so what happens? We have approximately one fixture every four days. And why? So the great and the good of the SPFL can have their much needed winter break. An opportunity to rest their weary bones and recharge their batteries for the challenges to come. Curious then that that rest and recharging will manifest itself in travelling abroad for money spinning friendly tournaments for the Gruesome Twosome and probably a few others from the upper echelons. The rest? Well we’ll see revenue drop as matches in December attract poorer crowds than they would do at other times of the year. We’ll see – or at least we would see if we were party to details of the finances – cash flow issues and we will twiddle our thumbs until our betters return from furth of these shores to deign to reengage with us! Scottish football administration at its least considerate, least logical and most predictable! Edited October 24, 2017 by CCjag
allyo
As a person who generally thinks people moan too much, and tends to shrug his shoulders about most things... I think this is the absolute height of incompetence, unfairness and an absolute disgrace
sick in the basin
Hmmmm another chance for the club most in need of cash to boost its Xmas coffers. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow - it would be a real shame if the locals from Limerick et al were inconvenienced eh !
MMCF
As an aside on this topic, has anyone clocked that the game against RossCo on the 30th is up against the Old Firm shenanigans (again). So pubs will be (probably) even more inaccessible pre-game and, (whisper it) Police Scotland may be so stretched by the hoards coming down from the Highlands that they might move it to a four o'clock K.O? P.S. Whatever happened to Topics? Did they morph into something else, like Marathon Bars. or was it just a case of an MEE (Mars extinction event)? Not illogical from their point of view, at least if you accept that only the Old Firm count and the rest of the league and their fans can GTF. Mr Bunny
can the club refuse to agree to the 20th December or are our hands tied? Not to belabour the point but .... OK belabouring the point I'm sure the club can if it is one of the OF but since it's us I'd say no way.

Losing - as many managers have said - can become a habit and a run of hard fixtures can demoralise a team - not to mention having to play twice a week for a month. I have always found it strange, how season after season many teams seem to have their games vs the OF very close together, often one or two weeks apart, usually separates by an Aberdeen or Hearts game. Not just us but most diddies.

elevenone
Looking at our December fixtures i see a midweek evening clash v Motherwell on 13th. Surely that could be brought forward to a free Sat in November which i reckon would probably add another 500+ to the gate in doing so? Or the farce that is Aberdeen away on the 27th 7.45pm. Surely another ideal candidate to be brought forward to a free Sat.

I guess we can't arrange something for the international break week until squads are announced and we could only try to arrange to play planned Motherwell's opponents for League cup final weekend

Aberdeen already have a game on the 26th against Killie.
Vaila Street
I'm not sure given the current injuries if bringing games forward is that great an idea. Surely Booth / Osman / Dumbaya / Bannigan should be back in December? With the current casualty list 2 games in November is a gift.
