stuthejag
A group of us are trying to trace the descendants of Thistle & Scotland great Willie Paul (7 Feb 1866 - 23 Oct 1911). His last known address was Carmichael Street, Govan. His parents, David and Margaret, were settled at that time, and for a long time, at 55 Byres Road. Willie was survived by his wife, Jeanie Paul (née Jane Thomson, died 1934, aged 65) and three children; Jessie (b.1896), Margaret (b.1898) and William (b.c1903, d.1921). Beyond that, he also had 7 sisters and 2 brothers: Janet (b.1865); Margaret (b.1870); Elizabeth (b.1872); David (b.1875); Isabella (b.1878, d.1883); James (b.1880); Jane (b.1882); Lillian (b.1884); Isabella (b.1888). He is buried with his wife & 2 sons in a unmarked lair in the Western (Maryhill) Necroplois, it is hoped if we can generate enough support with the Jags faithfull that we could maybe launch a fund raising campaign to provide a headstone with the blessing of any family memebers we can contact. If anybody knows anything please email: [email protected] @stuthejag (Admin could you pin this if possible)
Jaggernaut
With almost 400 appearances for the club, surely an inductee for the Hall of Fame. Actually, what happened to the Hall of Fame events?

eljaggo
Have you tried using one of the web based family tree sites to track the descendents, Stuthejag? You should be able to trace any living descendents through birth, marriage and death certificates searchable on-line. The last census online is old - 1911, but there was a household survey done in 1939 at the outbreak of war, and this might provide more recent links if you knew either adresses or names at that time. If descendents can be found, they may be interested in helping (not neccesarily financially), and having them onside so to speak might persuade the club to help with a headstone. I have traced some of my various family trees, so if you want to get in touch, I would be happy to help. Perhaps you knew all this stuff already of course.
