Anyone know who's going to win the World Cup?

It’s wide open at the moment and very interesting. Croatia and Belgium looking good, but other teams could start to improve. Also will the great players like Ronaldo or Messi have enough impact to drive their countries to the final? England will score goals through Kane, but is there defence good enough? And there’s always Brazil. Should be a great few weeks ahead. I’m hoping for Spain but I’m not sure if they’re good enough just now.

Statistically it is rare to get a first time winner away from home. It is also rare to get a win in another continent.

I think that would leave France Spain England and Russia.

and I don’t fancy any of them

Has your thinking on France now changed?

Why have you discounted Brazil & Uruguay?

I think what DD is getting at is so far all winners have been from Europe or South America, but it's rare for them to win on the opposite continent, only twice. The other 5 you mentioned were played in North America, Africa and Asia.
