No idea how we will line up but looking forward to seeing a few of the new boys.  Watched some highlights of Stenny’s friendly defeat to Hamilton the other night and the main thing of note was quite a bobbly artificial pitch so fingers crossed no more injuries tmrw.

Side note is that really 2 years since last there and did Azeez and Pogba both really score or was it a dream? :)

I think Duncanson is still with us and right back/right wingback is his natural position. As usual anyone with knocks or recovering is unlikely to play on plastic so probably be last weeks starting line up as near as possible. Could turn out to be a difficult game if we don't score early. When I last saw them play Mark McGuigan actually looked quite useful!

Spittal likely to move into the right back position I would have thought.
Don't think Archie will risk Banzo on this pitch.  Going to tight for numbers and can see us not fielding the 7 subs.

We will do well to win this match given the circumstances.

Could the trialist from last week at RB make an appearance?

We may be struggling to field 5 subs at this rate

Too true Fox lad.

Season 2018-19 began last weekend, just as 2017-18 ended - on a Sunday.

This weird phenomenon has only occurred once before in our entire history.

1971.

And to you AJ. Here's hoping for a sensational quadruple! :drink:

:detective:

  • Thistle haven't been beaten in the opening competitive game of the season in the entire 21st century.
  • Jags are on a H2H record run of 5 consecutive wins versus Stenny.
  • Thistle have come away from Ochilview with a 3 goal margin of victory on each of their last 3 visits there.
  • Thistle are unbeaten in the group stages of the League Cup in three consecutive campaigns; a 14 game run which spans 35 years.

Last seasons opening match certainly felt like a loss, though

Is it not worth risking playing Banzo on this surface before his deal ends? If I’m right we’ll have 6 games on astro, 2x qots, falkirk, alloa.  Are we not going to risk him in they games either?

Archie said the astro is likely to be softer than normal pitches after the recent hot weather anyways.

for tomorrow I’d play 352

Lennox (Bell if fit)

Spittal rwb

Mcginty

Barton

O’Ware

Penrice lwb

Storer

Banzo

Erskine

Doolan

Storey

5-1 Jags. Spittal, O’Ware, Storey, Storer, Doolan.

That's the sort of stats we want to see.:fan:
