Every single person who could get the job will have some critics from a previous job so what we need to do is hope that they have learnt from previous experiences and back them. Spot on. If Gerry and Jacqui Low get this wrong when there are more experienced options available it doesn't give them much wiggle room and as you say if Caldwell doesn't do well then his managerial career is pretty much at an end. However I suspect we will be in for a period of managed decline. It looks but like a Murdo Mcleod/Peter Cormack type appointment.. Caldwell will steady things to the point we are on the edge of the playoffs but never seriously in contention for promotion. This will largely be achieved by some of players coming back to fitness (Bannigan, Brice, McCarthy, Coulibally). So I suspect his real test will be at the start of season 19/20. It is Caldwell defo. Â I don't have details of contract length but would hope it's only for one year with extension dependant on progress.
